FAQs about hotels in Zadar

Dalmatias Historical Heart

Tucked away on the crystal blue waters of the Adriatic Sea and surrounded by small archipelago, Zadar is sprinkled with Romanesque architecture, medieval churches and protected by 16th century fortifications and high walls.

As the waves crash along the shores, the sea organ will play its harmonic sounds and welcome you to Zadar’s lively and charming Old Town, located across from the mainland. It is lined with marble walkways, landmarks, fascinating museums, and priceless archives.

It is home to the National Museum, Five Wells Square, the 14th-century University of Zadar, and the Roman Forum which features the 9th-century St Donatus' Church and 12th-century St. Mary's Church.

Stroll along the pretty tree-lined promenades and enjoy a meal in the several cafés, restaurants and bars which line Zadar's streets. Visit the popular Peoples Square in the district Narodni trg and shop in the Mercator Centar or City Galleria.

Booking.com has places to stay in Zadar and across the coastline in cities such as Bibinje, Petrcane and Sukošan. Zadar Airport links the city to several European destinations.

Zadar is a great city for a short break.

Zadar is a great city for a short break. I stayed for 4 nights which was just enough. Old town has lots of history, beautiful buildings, shops, restaurants and bars. It has a lovely waterfront promenade and a beach is walkable. Many excursions available and also a 15 minute ferry ride to the nearby island is very cheap. Taxi from airport is reasonably priced and I took bus back there for 5 euros.

A great country to visit with plenty to see and do. Croatia has been in the pipeline for a while & I’m so glad I went. Not many countries make me go back but it’s ticked so many boxes for me. If you can hire a car, this would be really beneficial. Mountains, rivers, lakes & lush green clean countryside. Excellent & exactly what I wanted.

Zadar is an amazing city historically, really has every century covered since Roman times, but the beaches are not so good, you have to drive outside Zadar to find a nice beach. For 1 day stay it is okay if you plan to visits Plitvice Lakes from Zadar .

the location - is literally on the Main Street of the Old Town of Zadar the lady waited for us at the office to give us the keys and lead us to the apartment it looks like a hotel room and has its standard which we liked a lot the view is on the street so it might get quite noisy but if we close the window is very calm and we turn on the AC so no problem of that the bed was very comfortable, the room super clean and enough of space to but our bags and stuff hot water in the shower and everything well prepared we liked it a lot!!

Everything was perfect: free parking, sparkly clean room, a superb view to the Adriatic Sea which we got to admire from our own (huge) private terrace, the pool. The owner is really nice and gave us an upgrade of the room we initially booked and also some useful travel advice. We also got to meet Blinks, the very cute dog that "guards" the property. It is true that you have to walk about 30 min, or 15 min+cheap boat to get to the city center, but the hotel area is far more quiet and relaxing.

Great Hotel, fast check in, friendly and helpful staff throughout, Our room was clean spacious with full facilities plus a balcony that overlooked the gardens and the sea. There is a good variety for breakfast. The hotel is about 15 minutes walk to Zadar old town and 2 minutes from the beach. The hotel has an excellent pool bar and lobby bar. The pool itself is good and there is a separate children's paddling pool. The Kolovare is a business and holiday hotel, professionally run.

The best value on our entire trip through Croatia. Spacious, beautifully designed and furnished room equipped with everything you could need. It felt like a stay in a brand new 4-star hotel. Private parking was available, small but sandy (total rarity here) beach only minutes on foot from the property. The owner was super nice and greeted us on arrival. I couldn't want anything more from an accommodation like this. I wholeheartedly recommend this to anyone :)

Free Air conditioning. 15 minute easy walk via shortcut into Zadar. Free wifey. Ivan was very helpful with things to do. Airport transfer about €30 (£25) cheapest around. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED: If there was a way to rate more than 10 I would have gone for it. We had an amazing start to our croatian trip in Zadar because of this fabulous experience. She is a fabulous host who goes out of her way to help her guests and I would endorse her to all my colleagues and friends. Best part of the stay was my 7 year old saying he doesnt want to leave the apartment at the end of our stay !!
