Staff was absolutely amazing, they were caring, attencious and sincere. The hotel itself is a gem, its an older hotel but delivers a lot for its two stars. A lot of croatian families were there, atmosphere was very nice and cool. It is not a five star hotel or pretends to be it, but serves good food and lodgind for a fair price in a very nice location. So I have to reccomend it!

Stari grad is a beautiful place and the people are very friendly.Lots of very nice bars and restaurants to choose from and lots of little streets to explore.,Public transport is cheap so its easy to check out other places not too far away.We found Taxis to be expensive so try and negotiate a price before you get in.A very relaxing, laid back place, just right for a chilled out holiday.

We could not of enjoyed Stari Grad more if we tried.
We could not of enjoyed Stari Grad more if we tried. The food was delicious, the people were incredibly friendly, and the architecture was beautiful.
If I can recommend anything, it is to visit Blue Doors. The food was amazing and all the Owners family recipes, the wine we selected (which I believe was the house white) was made next door to the restaurant. All the staff were lovely and we chose this location for our final meal of our holiday.

A peaceful and beautiful port, quieter then Hvar, but still with excellent restaurants, nice landmarks and a lovely feel to it.
Melting Spot for coffee.
You can't get any day boats to the smaller islands from Start Grad- you (unless you pay to do a private excursion) so you have to travel back to Hvar to do this.

I really love this place!
I really love this place! I've been there three times (first time 12 years ago). But I have to admit that prices in restaurants have gone mad this year. I understand inflation and everything, but I've been to Rome before visiting Stari Grad and food in Roman restaurants was 20-40 percent cheaper! Stari Grad (and Hvar island as a whole) is gorgeous! But it's not Rome! And I'm pretty sure it's not only my opinion because I was there a year ago at the same time (mid June), and this year restaurants were half-empty and I saw a lot of people walking away after looking at the prices on the menu.
Our panoramic room view surpassed our expectations, and the view of the Adriatic was truly wonderful. The room was spacious with all the appliances to make your stay comfortable - great Bluetooth radio and room service menu. The whole hotel has been beautifully designed in terms of architecture and furniture. The restaurant's menu and wine selection were outstanding, with beautiful views and excellent staff. Fantastic bar and breakfast. The hotel is a short walk from the quiet town of Stari Grad and a 20min drive from busier Hvar.
The apartment was very nicely decorated and well equipped. Our host was very welcoming, offering us transfers both from the ferry and back. She also gave us some nice tips on how to avoid tourist traps (of which there are many in Hvar) and where to find genuinely great local food. Accommodation itself is a couple of minutes walk from the closest beach and the centre of Stari Grad. The city of Hvar is easily reachable by bus that stops just behind the accommodation. All in all, highly recommended!
The hospitality received at at arrival was exceptional . You feel immediately at home . The land lord is very friendly , and is willing to give you all the advice and tips you need for an enjoyable stay o n Hvar island . The apartment is exceptionally clean and comfortable, it feels like a 4-star hotel . Th location is excellent , very close to the beach and to the center.
clean and overlooking the marina, so you’re right in the heart of the restaurants. Buses are easy to use and only a 7 min walk. You can easily get to Jelsa or Hvar by bus for 5 or 6 Euro. There’s a supermarket close by too so put some food in the refrigerator in the apartment as well. we would leave the windows open in the evening and soak up the great view of the marina.
Really nice and super comfortable apartment just a short walk to the city center–the bed was cozy and the balcony was a nice bonus. A/C worked great, which was necessary in this July heat! I expected it to be more of a hotel room but it was much more than that–it had a coffee maker, plates, cups, a desk/table, and more! There's even a city map and ferry schedule.
Our room was excellent. Very comfortable bed, plenty of space for the two of us, and we used the balcony for dining, and it was perfect. The room is very well equipped, and we had everything at our disposal. The owners are very kind and hospitable. Overall, a very nice impression and stay in the Stari Grad Hvar, we will come back here again for sure.
That was for the first time we´ve had All inclusive in Croatia. It was really light all inclusive but for the price more than pretty good :) Our room with a beautiful sea view was perfect and a bed was super comfortable. Hotel Arkada is in a very great location in Stari Grad - ca 1 km near centrum but with several beautiful approaches to the sea.
The location was perfect. Marina, our host, was charming, friendly and very helpful. Great having the breakfast downstairs in the cafe, obligingly prepared by Marina at any time we chose. The apartment was beautiful and gave us more room than a hotel.
It was our first visit to Hvar and we loved everything about it.
I accidentally stumbled upon Valamar Places hotel in Stari Grad and was blown away. Booked it immediately for an early summer holiday and was amazed. Design, friendliness, casual helpfulness and just the vibes are what stands out just like attention to details, location and friendly staff.
The place is beautiful and the apartments are very nice. There are multiple spots where you can swim nearby and trek to. Stari Grad is more quiet than Hvar Town so definitely a bigger plus. Many amazing restaurants near the apartment.
We were given a booklet all about Stari Grad that helped us plan the best day activities as well as things to look for and do. It was such a helpful and thoughtful items to share with us.
The hotel staff are extremely helpful and friendly, especially Jelica. The hotel itself is beautifully decorated and very clean. It has a relaxing atmosphere and lovely views of the sea.
Very comfortable apartment with balcony overlooking Stari Grad. Loved having coffee on the balcony and hearing the church bell ringing. Very peaceful and relaxing. Hosts were fantastic.
Very modern, super clean, beautiful pool, lovely host. Great location to walk to the waterfront at Stari Grad. Easy to park right out front. Highly recommend this beautiful apartment!
Very friendly host - good location and easy 10 minute walk into main part of Starigrad. Very close to some wonderful beaches. It was everything we needed and the value was excellent.
