I would avoid taking taxi next time as public transport is still perfect in chennai. Getting around in taxi and auto is faster in this city. Chennai is a huge, noisy, dirty city with horrendous traffic and very few tourist attractions. We only stayed there for a night at each end of our trip as we flew into and out of Chennai airport.
