We had a wonderful time at this property. The check-in was fantastic—the staff were incredibly nice, and we were welcomed with a lovely selection of gifts, which was a beautiful touch! The property itself has great amenities, including a wonderful swimming pool and plenty of indoor games to keep everyone entertained. Parking was incredibly easy with lots of spaces available. On top of that, the rooms were very clean and very comfortable. Everything was good from start to finish. Highly recommend!

Niranjan arranged all of my travel needs with exceptional care. Raj, my daily attendant, saw to my every room request and kept it as neat as a pin. Kanikkairaj went out of his way to fetch all of my food orders, always with a smile. Additionally, I like the fact that it is as in a tranquil part of town. No heavy traffic, yet very accessible.

This place was close to all the sight seeing places any one would want to visit. This was also very close to the beach. Infinity pool was clean and the staff were super friendly and supportive in all aspects. I would highly recommend this for anyone who wants to visit with family or otherwise.

The staff , especially the gentlemen at the reception were lovely! They do a wonderful job at making your stay and travel beyond comfortable. Very accommodating staff. Excellently maintained pool and large comfortable beds.. toiletries and linen were ship-shape.

Mahabs is a great retreat for tired minds :D. There are some must visits like the shore temple, the mahishasura mardini temple, varaha temple. We could not visit the light house but even from far it was a very pretty sight.

Spent less than 24 hours arriving early evening. Walked the lovely beach. Seashore restaurant - Awful food. Pricey. Don’t bother. Only the view. Taaco restaurant - absolutely scrumptious! No menu. Prawn curry and rice was to die for. Dont miss. Joe’s cafe - Continental breakfast was terrific and so reasonable. Woke early morning to catch sunrise at Shore temple which was beautiful and uncrowded on a Monday which was walking distance from my guest house. 8am private 2.5 hour tour with Ramesh from FiveSenses which was very relaxed, informative and enjoyable. Had the added pleasure of riding pillion on his motorbike between sites instead of walking. Glad for my deliberate choice not to be here on a weekend as my guide confirmed it is packed. Weekdays are less crowded which was perfect. The temples are breathtaking and an absolute wonder.

A place of very contrasting experiences : the cultural heritage and goegraphical features are so interesting however the experience of being on the street & beach is stressful - many people asking for money or harrassing you to buy from them. Not easy to relax there. A good coffee is hard to find. There are only ahandful of places to eat safely, Liz's Kitchen is way better than any of them.

We did not visit Mahabalipuram as we were traveling with elderly folks and just wanted a weekend break. But since we live in Chennai, we have been to Mahabalipuram dozens of times! It is always an incredible place to visit and the ancient ruins from the Pallava dynastic times are breathtaking in their beauty and relevance to our local culture. Well worth a visit if you’re ever in the neighborhood …

GREAT place to visit, Indian heritage on display!

GREAT place to visit, Indian heritage on display! The monolithic 6-7th century rock sculptures are a treat to the eyes. The humour of the sculptor well visible in the "lice picking monkey" and the "cat doing yoga" sculptures. Plan early am start April as it is quite hot by 10.30 am. The site is open by 6am, i think. Shell museum is unique and is quite a marvel. Not to be missed. Welcome ice-cream store there.

The Grande Bay resort has, of course less sprestige than the the other luxury hotels close by but have much more decent prices during the weekend. They did their best to allocate me a very nice room. Staff, from reception to bar or restaurant, were very welcoming and smily. Excellent breakfast. I only stay one night so I haven't been able to enjoy all facilities but they propose several as afternoon tea time. They arranged me a city tour by tuk tuk.
