Hot in April. Never been in such a hot, humid place.
Hot in April. Never been in such a hot, humid place. Would go outside, do whatever I went out to do then back inside to lie under the fan. Heat rash turned to bumps and cuts. Light, cotton kurta would be wet by the time I returned.
Ayurvedic massage, a coffee shop, walk to the beach, buy clothes. There are things to do if you look. In an ancient spice trading Capitol, breakfast was varied, then it was too hot to eat.

A very classy nice restaurant.
A very classy nice restaurant. A warm welcoming, followed by an excellent service, with a lot of attention to details on order to please you.
I took at first a tartare, the beef was excellent. With that I took a glass of the local red wine. Somewhat surprising, it does not taste like anything I have already drunk, but I kinda liked it.
Then I took a marbled steak with homemade French fries and homemade ketchup (!). No word to say that it was awesome.
The service always with a smile and very patient with us.

My recent visit to Cochin, Kerala was nothing short of...
My recent visit to Cochin, Kerala was nothing short of magical. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the beauty and charm of this historic city.
Exploring the streets of Fort Kochi was like stepping back in time, with its colonial architecture, bustling markets, and vibrant culture. The Chinese fishing nets along the waterfront were a sight to behold, especially during sunset when the sky was painted in hues of orange and pink.
One of the highlights of my trip was visiting the Mattancherry Palace, also known as the Dutch Palace. The intricate artwork and historical artifacts inside were truly impressive, offering a glimpse into Kerala's rich heritage.
I also had the pleasure of indulging in some of the most delicious seafood dishes I've ever tasted. Whether it was fresh fish curry at a local eatery or a traditional Kerala thali at a family-run restaurant, each meal was a culinary delight.
The warmth and hospitality of the people of Cochin further enhanced my experience. From the friendly smiles of shopkeepers to the helpful advice of locals, I felt welcomed and at home throughout my stay.
Overall, my time in Cochin, Kerala was an unforgettable experience. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to immerse themselves in the beauty, culture, and flavors of southern India.

Beautiful mix of heritage, historical and modernised places all around. At least a 3 day trip to experience all faces of city and satisfy your taste buds.
Great for people looking to experience beach life, back waters and some good resorts and food.
Only thing to be considered is the weather while travelling and trip to pre planned.
Breakfast was not available and not included in the package. But there are good budget hotels very adjacent to this Residency. Breakfast there is excellent and hence non-availability of breakfast at this residency is not a matter of concern. This residency is value for money and is an excellent stay place for this price. Although there is no Vehicle parking facility, they provide limited parking facility overnight (as per information from the Reception counter. Since we were aware of parking problem, we went there in public conveyance)
The location was absolutely great. Its just around 100m a walk away from Metro station Cochin University. From Mero Station Cochin u can reach Lulu Mall Cochin in 10min and also go for shopping to M.G.Road..Breakfast fast great..I had also ordered food a la carte and get ot delivered to my room..Really good and authentic south indian but also north indian dishes. Room Service at its best.. Room was super clean and spacious. There is a working space at the ground floor, where u can Meeting ur clients or colleagues.
The H&W hotel has great facilities that include Ayurvedic massages, various other types of massages and Foot Reflexology. Their masseuse and reflexologists are superb. I've been to them in Singapore, USA, and now twice in Kerala. They are the best I've had. The staff at the desk and the property are kind and very responsive. They helped myself and my grandson at every turn. I can't say enough about the staff and also the Manager. He took personal charge and was responsive to every need. Thank you all!
Mary, the host is a sweetheart.
The entire family made me feel welcome. The first hotel I booked canceled last minute so I ended up here. I'm a stingy backpacker on an Enfield and the price is a little more than I'm used to paying but it was worth it. Fort Cochin is definitely an upmarket kind of place, so one should expect to pay a bit more. Clean, well maintained rooms with lovely balcony. Good energy all around. I didn't try the food but it looked and smelled amazing.
I'm so glad we chose this new hotel, near the Cochin airport, for our stay. The owners and staff were kind and made us feel so welcome. There's a lot of parking space available. We were informed that for quick trips, we can safely leave our car with them. The rooms were truly spacious and spotless. The owner himself dropped us off at the airport, early next morning. The stay was pure comfort and we loved it.
We would totally recommend this hotel
the hosts (the entire family) were very nice and helpful. they did their best to help us with the best suggestions around fort cochin, renting a bike, getting bus tickets and more. they were also kind to allow us to take a shower in the afternoon of our departure (we checked out in the morning leaving our luggage in their home).
mr Dan is a very good and nice person. ask him anything and he will do his best. :)
thank you, Cherish house :)
The property is well located and the rooms are well equipped. The attached restaurant is fabulous and serves scrumptious North Indian fare. The location is the real star here though - you’re literally a walk away from every possible destination and there’s great Uber connectivity in case you want to travel somewhere further away. This is, in our experience, probably the best experience you can have on a budget in the area.
Located next to Cochin naval area, Taj Malabar offers the best that Kerala had to offer. Built in 1930s, the hotel represents a unique window to Oriental world of Kerala. They have tenured staff who are willing to go extra mile to help guest experience exceptional stay. This property is a melting pot of global tourists. You will awestruck by quality of food, music, hospitality and everything else.
Proximity to Cochin airport. We arrived late in the evening and it only took a few minutes by cab to reach the hotel. If our luggage had been lighter we could easily have walked it. Also the staff were very friendly and helpful, there was an escalator to the higher floors, the buffet breakfast was good and the room was clean and bright. Good value for money and highly recommended!
had a very nice stay .........!the rates were budget friendly , and the room was clean and neat. Staff's was so friendly and even the owner of this hotel is very kind and friendly. i highly recommend it for families - it truly felt like a home away from home. great experience overall.!! Thank you all and surely will come back.
It was a wonderful stay and thanks for the good hospitality. Supported by the travel desk and got the taxi services for Cochin and Munnar tour with cheap rate. All the facilities were good sure we will come back and recommend to our friends. Very happy for the services.
Thank you for making my stay happy and safe
The room is super clean and spacious, the mattress super confortable, and the family owner are all really nice and helpful.
The breakfast were cheap and delicious.
The location is very good too, that was by far the best hotel/homestay we have been in India.
So great that we book another night again
Superb Location easy access to all tourist places.Worth for money. Friendly behaviour and nice hospitality.
Even at 10p.m they have arranged an alternative room for AC problem.
Overall 5 star rating.
Best hotel for family members.
Really nice stay, more a hotel than a Homestay, but fantastic location and really helpful staff. The room is spacious and more then we expected. One of the best stays in India after 5 weeks travelling. We would stay again.
In 3 weeks of touring southern India, this was the best hotel we stayed in. The staff were friendly and helpful, the food was good and cafes, restaurants and shops were a short walk or auto rickshaw ride away.
Super friendly staff and great location in the heart of Old Cochin, a boutique style hotel with great rooms and a small but perfectly good swimming pool.
