The main attraction is the national park, where there are a lot of options for more or less demanding activities from a gentle boat trip to a two-day hike through the jungle. The rangers are brilliant. in town there are restaurants ranging from cheap to high-end, elegant handicraft shops, elephant parks, ayurvedic massage places - whatever you fancy, really. The weather is benign, as it's quite elevated. Transport connections (by bus) are pretty good from the central bus station. There are also western-style cafes where you can hang out and read; Wildernest is green and peaceful, while Chrissie's even has cappuccino!

It's a calm and serene destination, not like other hill stations.
I am a regular at Grandma's kitchen. It's a simple place nothing fancy but great local food. Kumily / Thekkady is not a huge place so getting around is easy. It's a cozy little town to chill if you don't want to run around sightseeing

Thekkady can be explored in two to three days. Enjoy nature walk but sighing of animals is very rare. There are huge trees which are appx 500 years old.
Travelers can enjoy local cuisine and elephant ride. There is opportunity to watch Kalaripayattu ( martial art) and Kathakali performance.

Absolutely stands as a demonstration for the saying “God’s own country”. Serene and bountiful of nature and some good species of wild life. The Thekkady boat trip is a ‘never-miss’ activity and the early morning off-roading trip in Mahindra Commander SUV 🚙 is phenomenal. Great place for a vacation with family and friends. One of the treasures ie the Periyar Tiger Reserve Forest. Don’t miss. I just crossed off one number in my bucket list. But beware of scammers. They are all over there.

The boat ride was a good experience as we spotted elephants, gaur, deer, wild boar and monkeys. The boat jetty should have better facilities as the crowds can be difficult to navigate for the elderly and small children.
Property is very well maintained, beautiful and very comfortable.
Mr.Lawrence is extremely helpful and make sure our stay is comfortable and relaxing. Helped us a lot to cordinate the local activities like elephant ride, plantations tour and guiding the best sources in thekkady.
He is a great and Humble person whom we can never forget and will surely come again.
Rajesh and his wife is very friendly, supportive and most humble people we have met in our trip. Very pleasant stay and worth of visit.
The property was very clean and neat. Staff was very helpful especially Mr Jishnu The General Manager of the property was very helpful. He helped us plan our itenary for each day. Without his help we wouldn't be able to explore the beauty of Thekkady.. Room service and complementary breakfast was excellent. My family really enjoyed their stay here. Brand new property and very equivalent to 5 star property.. Will definitely recommend to everyone and stay here in our next trip.
It was a wonderful experience.
Owner's were very kind and co-operative.
The location was good and it's near to Kumili/Thekkady junction bus stand.

Happy with the stay ☺️
The setting of the hotel, high in the hills above Thekkady is beautiful, with amazing views over Kerala on one side and Tamil Nadu the other. The grounds of the hotel are beautifully curated with lush greenery and flowers. The staff are friendly and helpful and special thanks go to the chef who at my husband's request, demonstrated how to make fish mollee. The service all in all was great, as was the range and quality of food.
The staff was great, the rooms were large, tidy and had a TV and mini fridge. The weather was cold and the AC only worked on cold so they gave us a space heater. The highlight was definitely the food!! The daily food demos with the chef were amazing and we really enjoyed it! We also ate in the hotel for breakfast and dinner and the food was amazing!!
Amazing hotel, we felt at home. Extremely good service, especially the naturalists Albin and Ashly. Both restaurants had really great food. The room is huge and comfortable. Everyone should try all service provided by hotel: yoga, cooking class, performance show, property visit.

Beautiful place a bit outside the village of Thekkady. We stayed at the treehouse. The host was very welcoming and the home made food was one of the best we had during our trip in India. The location was very peaceful and we had the best nights sleep.

location was very convenient right on the main road, staff was very courteous and helpful, room was neat and clean, food was good and tasty. overall was wonderful stay, definitely recommended and would love to stay again if i visit thekkady again.
Best I like was it's Greenery. It's like a jungle, in between cardamom plantations. Owner of the property is very sweet family. Offered welcome drink , morning tea and very yummy South Indian breakfast. Not far from main attractions of Thekkady.
I loved the atmosphere of the hotel, friendly and welcoming staff. Rooms are soo good and refreshing. My friends do really like the infrastructure of the hotel and customer service. We booked for one day stay but it was beyond the expectations.
