Hot in April. Never been in such a hot, humid place.
Hot in April. Never been in such a hot, humid place. Would go outside, do whatever I went out to do then back inside to lie under the fan. Heat rash turned to bumps and cuts. Light, cotton kurta would be wet by the time I returned.
Ayurvedic massage, a coffee shop, walk to the beach, buy clothes. There are things to do if you look. In an ancient spice trading Capitol, breakfast was varied, then it was too hot to eat.

A very classy nice restaurant.
A very classy nice restaurant. A warm welcoming, followed by an excellent service, with a lot of attention to details on order to please you.
I took at first a tartare, the beef was excellent. With that I took a glass of the local red wine. Somewhat surprising, it does not taste like anything I have already drunk, but I kinda liked it.
Then I took a marbled steak with homemade French fries and homemade ketchup (!). No word to say that it was awesome.
The service always with a smile and very patient with us.

My recent visit to Cochin, Kerala was nothing short of...
My recent visit to Cochin, Kerala was nothing short of magical. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the beauty and charm of this historic city.
Exploring the streets of Fort Kochi was like stepping back in time, with its colonial architecture, bustling markets, and vibrant culture. The Chinese fishing nets along the waterfront were a sight to behold, especially during sunset when the sky was painted in hues of orange and pink.
One of the highlights of my trip was visiting the Mattancherry Palace, also known as the Dutch Palace. The intricate artwork and historical artifacts inside were truly impressive, offering a glimpse into Kerala's rich heritage.
I also had the pleasure of indulging in some of the most delicious seafood dishes I've ever tasted. Whether it was fresh fish curry at a local eatery or a traditional Kerala thali at a family-run restaurant, each meal was a culinary delight.
The warmth and hospitality of the people of Cochin further enhanced my experience. From the friendly smiles of shopkeepers to the helpful advice of locals, I felt welcomed and at home throughout my stay.
Overall, my time in Cochin, Kerala was an unforgettable experience. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to immerse themselves in the beauty, culture, and flavors of southern India.

Beautiful mix of heritage, historical and modernised places...
Beautiful mix of heritage, historical and modernised places all around. At least a 3 day trip to experience all faces of city and satisfy your taste buds.
Great for people looking to experience beach life, back waters and some good resorts and food.
Only thing to be considered is the weather while travelling and trip to pre planned.
Imagine a beautiful old house, renovated and decorated in the best way, filled with art, shaded by hundreds of years old raintrees, surrounded by a tropical garden with a spacious pool and a waterlily pond. So instead of lying in the middle of Fort Cochin, calm and refreshing. Then imagine the most kind and helpful staff and add some of the cutest pets you have ever met as dog Happy and cat Valentine and the animals who visit the garden as Kingfisher, Brahmin Kites, Mungos and of course crows and doves, then you have The Old Harbour Hotel!
We had booked 2 rooms via booking.com and due to some technical glitch our bookings didn't entirely transfer over to the property. Manager Dushyantha Shetty went out of his way to accommodate our family. He gave us a suite and free breakfast to compensate for the glitch caused by booking.com. I noticed the entire staff at Ginger Kochi took customer satisfaction to their hearts and ensured the guests were happy. I would certainly book at Ginger Kochi next time when we're at Cochin.
Mary, the host is a sweetheart.
The entire family made me feel welcome. The first hotel I booked canceled last minute so I ended up here. I'm a stingy backpacker on an Enfield and the price is a little more than I'm used to paying but it was worth it. Fort Cochin is definitely an upmarket kind of place, so one should expect to pay a bit more. Clean, well maintained rooms with lovely balcony. Good energy all around. I didn't try the food but it looked and smelled amazing.
The hotel is very nice and cosy and the fresh juices for breakfast never disappointed! This was our last stay during our 3 weeks trip to India so we had our fair share of hotels...This one was by far one of the best we stayed in especially given the price quality! It is well located and the hotel owner, Joseph, is a very nice man who will give you all the tips and tricks you need and even book you the best seats at a Kalakari show! Thank you again for a really nice stay!
Last night I was never like to remember. My 6-year-old daughter and I felt very ashamed of Nambiars hotel. Rude, inhumane staff and owner. At about midnight, the booked room was dropped off without being given. Without even thinking that there was a six-year-old girl in the group. Please no one come here as a family..

The property is well located and the rooms are well equipped. The attached restaurant is fabulous and serves scrumptious North Indian fare. The location is the real star here though - you’re literally a walk away from every possible destination and there’s great Uber connectivity in case you want to travel somewhere further away. This is, in our experience, probably the best experience you can have on a budget in the area.
The location is amazing, right in the centre of Fort Cochin so you can walk everywhere very easily. The hotel is beautiful, very well decorated with interesting art and decor pieces. It is very peaceful compared to the hustle and bustle just outside. The reception staff were incredibly helpful - I had a minor injury while I was there and they could not have been more helpful and kind in looking after me.
Best budget hotel. Nice location. Normal tea snacks were available from adjoining Karthika hotel on call by phone in room. Otherwise best veg/ nonveg restaurant were available at walking distance on MG road. Drinking water facility available at all floors. Auto through Uber available from Ernaculam junction in 60 to 70 rupees.Stayed 21st and 22nd January 2024 in AC room.
Clean and new facilities, definitely worth the price! Room had a comfortable bed with nice A/C in the room. Nice bathroom as well. The staff is exceptional! Super friendly and helpful!
I liked the location, you can find all you need outside the hotel and it’s just a couple of kilometers to MG Road if you like the bursting and vibrant Indian city vibe.
My budget room was spacious, well equipped and clean. Laundry access was a bonus and breakfast was set on the rooftop, with views across Ernakalum. The selection was authentically Indian and delicious. All staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is a 15 minute walk from the metro and in a neighbourhood with very reasonable eateries.
A home away from home,
Best budget hotel in whole ernakulam.
Best staff, so professional,a real shout out to Mr. Anandhu and Mr Ajmal.They. It really made my 5 days stay more comfortable. It's near metro, railway station and restaurant.. i am saying again, best budget hotel, .. at this price , it's money worth
The best hotel ever 👏In last 9 years I was visiting a loooot India and this is definitely the best hotel ever in India 👍everything: the service, professionalism of the staff, food, rooms’s comfort, design, quality-to-cost ratio.
Overall experience was very good... All basic amenities were in place... Hotel staff were very friendly and ready to help. Rooms were spacious enough with good house keeping facility. Best budget friendly decent hotel.
Overall, though short, the stay was comfortable. A new property, keenly built in the midst of nature, yet near airport. Seems to be a startup, the staff is really helpful. All the best to the team.
Hotel is located in centre of the city and easy to reachable for any location. New and clean hotel with great breakfast . Staff service is exceptional. Recommended anybody visit to Cochin.
Location: The Ginger Hotel on MG Road in Kochi is conveniently situated, offering easy access to the city's attractions. It's a great base for exploring Kochi's landmarks.
