Traffic can be horrendous so if you want to get around places having someone who knows the ins and outs with all the shortcuts in between is a must, or to not be afraid to try the rapidO scooter service as scooters get places fast in traffic.

Shillong is an exquisite destination to explore in the state of Meghalaya. There are several opportunities for sightseeing. The locals are kind, however caution is advised regarding the exorbitant taxi costs that may result in an expensive journey.
Prior to your trip to Shillong, it is essential to ensure that you have made sufficient hotel arrangements. There are several high-quality resorts accessible.
Furthermore, it is crucial to avoid engaging in disputes with the local residents in this area, as it might pose significant challenges for visitors.

We had 3 nights in shillong. Enjoy the best nature's green cover. Much more than splendid and truly memorable. The living root bridge and caves are a must visit. Kudos for the administration to give great importance to cleanliness.

Place is really beautiful, awesome vibes .
Place is really beautiful, awesome vibes .Locals are helpful , food is good . Only problem is when you plan your trip , check the weather for upcoming 2-3 days , because continuous rain for the whole day or may be multiple days can ruin your trip . i will recommend to visit this place in Nov - April and may . And yes don’t forget to bring your jackets , warm clothes , Raincoat , umbrella with you . Cause weather changes here like humans. 😝

Shillong is a very nice state capital city in the North...
Shillong is a very nice state capital city in the North Eastern part of India. This is a valley surrounded by mountains, so you can have great sign seeing options.
There are few nice places to visit in the city itself like the hydari park, st xavier's museum, lake etc. The heart of the city, Police Bazar, is very crowded. But it has some good shops and restaurants.
The food scene of Shillong is limited. There are few good restaurants in Police Bazar and in the surroundings. But mostly closed after 7/ 730 in the evening.
If you are staying outside PB, you will have very few food options. And the quality are not good too. Like average noodles and momos.
however, there are a number of places to visit outside Shillong. The Cherrapunjee area, The Mawliyong area with the living root bridge etc. Jowai and Krang Shuri falls, though a bit far

Peaceful place with helping people and their everlasting...
Peaceful place with helping people and their everlasting smiles and hospitality makes this place worth for everything. people here are simple and genuine, they are happy in the little ,they lead a simple life and work hard for it. I have not seen child labour here. There were No chotu's on any of the shops . Taxis are available everywhere or otherwise you can walk up. A life is not enough to explore shillong. I went to east khasi hills and got thrilled with its beauty. But there is much much more...
It's a beautiful place. Those who love nature will find beauty in every small Little thing here. Would like to come again and again.
Absolutely beautiful and relaxing spot. This has a view on the city from up in the hills amongst winding alleyways. Very spacious room (small villa of your own actually).
Waking up to breakfast served in the small living room with music of the school children (and teacher on guitar) is a very special experience.
Dasuk, the owner, was very helpful. I had trouble finding the place (i was cycling there) and she came out on the car to show me the way. She also arranged a taxi to bring me to the police Bazar and back.
Great experience! I booked a stay for my parents for 2 nights at Pegasus Crown. And the service they received at the property was top-notch. They are elderly people, but the hotel staff took great care of them and provided whatever they needed. Also the complimentary breakfast and snacks were top quality. The WhatsApp correspondence with Mr. Verma was very effective - he instantly replied to all my queries. Will stay whenever I go to Shillong next time. Highly recommended.
The best thing is the location of this Hotel, which is in the center of Shillong i.e. just around the circle of Police Bazar, from where you get taxi or cabs for any places you are interested.
Good place to stay on a Budget available. The place is in walking distance from Police Bazar. And this area is full of Government Offices. Hospitality provided by the staff was so good.
Looking good from outside.Inside the shared room good too. Only problem is the stay is outside of the active townarea police bazar where transport and conveniences are handy.
