100m walk to quaint town centre Bus stop to Amalfi right outside hotel Picturesque view from room, restaurant or bar Friendly staff
This was our second stay at the Garden and hopefully not our last. Anna and her family are terrific. Breakfast on the terrace is the way to start a day. Buses at the door.
No on site parking but who wants to be driving on the Amalfi anyway?
The staff there is really nice, she gave a super good view room as we were booed for a partial sea view room. When we look out from the balcony, the view is really beautiful. Love it.
Well... I've to say the air condition doesn't work good.
The location of this hotel is fantastic and right by the main bus stop (in a good way!), so no traipsing round with you bags trying to find it. The staff are very friendly and the views from the breakfast terrace and bar are breathtaking!
Perhaps a little dated but the location makes up for it.
The view and private balcony extraordinary Anna very helpful and obliging.
restaurant caters for American taste.Huge servings of meat. Wasteful and expensive.Breakfast not great
Superb location next to Villa Rufolo and square nearby. Staff are very attentive and volunteer help. Fabulous breakfast.
the room was very conferrable and clean, views are stunning, the location the kind staff, breakfast was nice, but not great...
on our second night our neighbors were very loud, and smoked on the terrace the smoke and noise went right into our room
Amazing location, breakfast, staff lovely
room a little dated and bed a little firm!!
Very central to the town square & right next door to Villa Rufulo. A complimentary buffet breakfast was provided every morning, which I could not eat (due to special dietary requirements) however the hotel staff were more than happy to cook me a hot breakfast instead - you just have to ask!
Near Villa Ruffalo and 1 min from main square and cathedral Gorgeos sea views
the beds are too short and uncomfortable breakfast is a bit poor - no hot meals
Location and facilities.
Views are spectacular. Staff at the hotel were very helpful with any of your reservations whether dinner or concert tickets. Renewed our wedding vows and they took care of everything. Rooms very clean. Bathrooms good size.
We liked everything!!
Great location; next to bus top and taxis, just very short walk through tunnel to central square. Great views; roughly eastwards, towards Maori and peninsular and around Salerno Bay. Sun in the first half of day, shade in the second half. Patricia was welcoming and helpful and kindly reserved evening piano recital and booked our taxi transfer to Naples airport. Overall the room was fine, in that it was clean, reasonably spacious (with sea-view balcony) and well appointed, with effective Wi-Fi - and a little kettle, so we could make our own tea/coffee! Breakfast buffet was fine. Restaurant evening meal was decent.
Couldn't initially find hotel, because our (Booking.com) reservation said Albergo Garden Hotel, but it turns out it is mostly labelled, called or known as just Garden Hotel (or Garden Restaurant). The Wi-Fi included is limited to just two users, so once we had connected our two phones, there wasn't a Wi-Fi connection left for our tablet. As the hotel is on a steep cliff the restaurant/lobby terrace area was above us and formed the ceiling to our room, so we were disturbed by (particularly earlier morning) noises, such as grating of the metal table and chair legs on the tiled restaurant/lobby floor (our ceiling). There was not good sound insulation between rooms; we could the hear the adjacent bathroom extract fans (quite noisy in our bathroom as well). There was a constant low hum, particularly audible when it was quieter at night, like a pump or a fan somewhere in the hotel which was running all the time. There was no lid on the over-head toilet cistern, so when it re-filled (after flush) little drops of water sprinkled around (not a health hazard, because this was fresh water going into the overhead cistern, which didn't have a lid). Although there were loads of Italian TV channels there were no English TV channels (not even any American or Canadian channel!). During the evening meal we tried, the service was "interesting". Our starters (Anti-Pasti) were first served to another table, before the mistake was realised and moved to ours. The next (Pasta) course was then served to us, before we had finished our starters (AntiPasti)! The hectic guy said that they had cooked the Pasta course too soon - and instead of holding it back, he brought it out and put it on the table whilst we were still eating our starters (AntiPasti)! Niggling things, not earth-shattering!
The accommodation was excellent. We were very comfortable and the view was stunning. Patricia and staff couldn't have been more helpful. The restaurant has a deserved reputation.
Everything - Friendly owner and staff, lovely room and view, great food. Perfect views of the Villa Rufolo gardens, the sea and the mountains. Very good value for cost.
We arrived by bus and were very pleased with the location being right there, just outside the city gates. We were early, so our room was not quit ready for us. Anna lead us to the restaurant which was quite full being that it was lunch time. She had us sit and brought us a complementary split of porsecco, olives and breads. Our room overlooked the sea, it was comfortable and very clean. All staff we encountered were helpful and pleasant. Dinner in the restaurant was great as was the included breakfast. The staff in the bar were fun and Annas' pet bunny added a homey touch. We will definitely select this hotel on our next trip to Ravello. Bene grazie Anna
Great staff, very helpful.Room we had had the best views, very romantic place to stay.
Staff was excellent and helpful Restaurant was superior No need to look elsewhere
The mattress was not comfortable Not easy to locate if you use google
Incredible value. Awesome view. Great private balcony. Great pool. Spacious room and bathroom. 1/3rd the price of worse hotels. The entry is right where the bus from Amalfi unloads, but the rooms face the sea and are far enough below street level that there is no street noise.
The wifi was unreliable (this was apparently a bad day for wifi in Ravello )
Location andfamily run
Pretty much everything was spot on and the views from the restaurant & bar are immense
Only a partial sea view from the bedroom which was disappointing when you have such an amazing location. Breakfast was the same each day so a little variety would have been nice.
I went to Ravello over the weekend to see a concert during the Ravello Festival - my friend has already stayed at the Garden and so we mafe our bookings there. It was reall easy to get too - which is saying something because most other hotels are in the Pedestrian Only area. We left our car to be valet parked and after a short set of stairs we arrived in reception - breathtaking view, wonderfully furnished - also our room was great (No. 10 has a window in bathroom with a view!) and the pool and restaurant were no less impressive. The restaurant is open to the public so remember to book a table near the railings which overlook the Amalfi coast - otherwise you'll miss the best positions. The food is quite expensive but the servings are generous. We happily filled up with one portion of spagetti, followed by fruit.
The only thing I could fault the hotel about would be the 'outside' guests who frequentled the pool and who used the area as if it were their own with more than 10 people all standing around where we were, bolcking the sun, talking loudly (including loud phone ringtones and calls) and even placing their clothes on our sun-beds when there was no more room for them to squeeze other deck chairs in the limited space around us - we really needed a rest and a quiet environment but it wasn't to be. I understand that they were some of the elite of Ravello but they certainly didn't act like it.
Fantastic view over the Amalfi coastline. small and friendly with lovely balcony. Only minutes walk to Villa Rufo and the centre of Ravello. New pool facility made great end / start of the day. Very good and not over priced restaurant with fantastic fresh fish.
The bar (run by the son) was closed for a private function (wedding) so we took a bottle of wine to the room instead and drank it on the balcony.
