We lived in different location which is far from the hostel. For the breakfast, we have to walk for 5 mins to the hostel.
we lived in an apartment with good location which is near to the boat station. Very comfortable bed and clean toilet
Ideally located 10 minutes walk from St Marks Square. Spacious room with everything you would need.
Didn't like the stairs but property is typical of Venice
Excellent location Friendly and helpful staff Good directions Good breakfast Quiet location
We had booked last minute for the Venice Carnival and and it goes with lat minute bookings, the prices everywhere were really high. Ca riccio was what I would say value for money. We had booked a standard room looking at the pictures. The size of the room was slightly smaller than what I had assumed when I had booked looking at the pictures. Nevertheless it was comfortable for the two of us, cosy and very well lit. Though the rooms have no view, they are located 15 mins by walk for the station and San Marc's square and are still quiet during the time of the carnival. We walked from the station. It's very doable if u're travelling light.oh and their breakfast is very good so do include that in your booking. The staff was extremely sweet and very very accommodating. We wanted to leave our luggage the next day with them and go around Venice. They were absolutely ok with that. Our friends had some problems with their room booking (at another place in Venice) and asked if they could leave their luggage there too. I wasn't very sure about a positive reply from the hotel staff, but to my surprise, they were very sweet and let them keep their luggage too. I'm sure I'll be booking Ca' riccio when I go back to Venice.
More of a B&B feel than a hotel. Bed wasn't the most comfortable and it was too short for my husbands long legs.
Staff and breakfast was excellent. Very good location.
Be aware the rooms are on the 2nd floor (3rd floor for Americans)--52 steps up to the rooms; a bit difficult with luggage for older travelers.
Nice location, close to several small restaurants and bistros. Only a couple of blocks from Fondamente Nuova vaporetto stop--with a good map (Google it!) an easy walk, even with luggage. Excellent breakfasts. Comfortable beds, air conditioning much appreciated. Great coffee!
As in most buildings in Venice, there in no lift and suitcases must be carried up four flights of stairs. The staff kindly helped with the bags.
Ca' Riccio is in a wonderful location. You can walk or take the vaporetto to all the sites yet you are far enough away from the crowds. The room with bath was clean and comfortable, though small. It is typical of Venice. Breakfast included pastries, cheeses, meats, yogurt, cereals and granola, scrambled eggs, breads, rolls, served in lovely surroundings. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We would stay here again.
Not really a negative, but might be for some if have the room with low beams. So worth checking before booking if this is an issue.
The only things I can say is wish the hotel's sign was much bigger. We had little trouble finding the hotel and it was raining on the day of our arrival. And beware of stairs if you have too much luggage but then it's venice and you will forget about all the pain once u experience this journey to this beautiful city
The hotel is good, seems like it is run by a family, clean, considering it's venice, the room is big enough, the breakfast is delicious and quite a variety
Great location close to major sites and public transport. Comfortable and clean accommodation. Very helpful host and staff with a wonderful breakfast served every morning - a great way to start the day!
Hotel charged me twice by mistake and it took some time to prove that's the case, though after I've been able to prove - they were prompt to return second charge.
Clean nice room in good location. Good facilities inside.
Even though it was air-conditioned, the room was uncomfortably warm. The staff was not helpful in this regard. I suspect that they turn off the air conditioning based on the season. This does not come as a surprise as the Italians seem to be somewhat obsessive (is that the right word?) when it comes to the seasons. If it's October, you don your scarf and jacket, even if the temperature is 75 deg F! I suspect this rigidity will soften as they experience the effects of global warming.
The location is excellent. Wander a few steps from the hotel and you find yourself in a quiet wonderland of small, gondola traveled, canals. It's a short walk to the Fondamenta Nove water bus stop, a convenient stop for the train station and the airport. Easy walking distance to the Rialto bridge and San Marco. The hotel is staffed by efficient (somewhat-aloof-but-friendly-courteous-and-helpful) young ladies. Our room (#5) is tiny but spotless (okay, a few cobwebs on the ceiling rafters) and elegant. The breakfast is fantastic. It includes hot food and the best croissants I've ever tasted. I highly recommend this hotel and would return for sure.
WiFi reception was not good, location hidden but not hard to find.
Excellent staff & service, beautiful decor, good food, excellent customer service providing directions to Hotel.
Staff friendly enough but did not feel like we got what was advertised. We reserved a triple room but were put in an apartment away from the main B&B which looked nothing like the photo posted. It had one bedroom. The third bed turned out to be a dirty old worn sofa bed that was extremely uncomfortable. The bathroom was modern but had black mold. I understand this is Venice but they could attempt to clean it off the ceiling and shower stall. It did have a kitchenette and frig. Noisy if you leave the windows open but the AC barely cooled the place. The price was high for what we got.
Location steps from vaporetto stop.
No lift ( same as everywhere else), but it is only 1 floor.
The detailed instructions provided made arriving very simple and stress free. Very quiet location, but close to everything. Room was very clean and comfy. Great breakfast each morning. All added up it was great value.
Was not set up for 4 adults as requested. Management unavailable to address issues. Spotty internet.
Location was best feature. Apartment was clean.
Our room was in the attic, so the ceiling was low on one side of the bed, but nothing we couldn't cope with.
The staff were all very helpful. The location was great, off the beaten track, but only 10 mins walk from Rialto Bridge. The apartment had a nice authentic feel, and breakfast was a lovely experience with plenty to eat, hot and cold.
Well furnished appartment / near to Rialto Bridge
Nothing, that place was so dirty, and the smell horrible, we do not recomend that place, even for $00 money is expensive
I loved our cozy room. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good.
Carrying heavy bags up stairs to the third floor, was fine for us, but would be difficult for older/ fragile people
Location and breakfast are excellent. You can walk to all the main sights within 5-10 mins
The door key got stuck and we had to spend five minutes each time we were trying to unlock the door. Out of the three rooms in Elena apartment one had no mirror, and only nightlamps working.
Excellent location Nice Venetian atmosphere
friendly staff family run? relaxed atmosphere in hotel Great location quiet and off main roads but central and easy to find near good cafes quiet for sleeping
bit expensive but nice hotel
Staff very friendly, nice welcome drink after we arrived
