Had the most delicious breakfast of the trip at this place
Lovely and very helpful landlady. The hot bath facilities have a great view over the woods. Genuine japanese ryokan experience, good breakfast and delicious dinner. 10 minute walk to center. Fair wifi access. Overall I recommend the hotel to people with an open mind or those looking for a genuine country experience.
Cold rooms, gasoline fired heating system leaves a strong smell in the room. The toilets were cold and not properly cleaned, so were the bookshelves. Steep access stairs (from road to hotel door) are dangerous if you carry a baby. Poor value for money, at least in high season.
it's secluded, quiet. has breakfast and dinner optional's the day/night before and both were excellent value and excellent foods. It's a bit far if your walking up to it with luggage. Using thier in house furo-onsen is free you just need to book it depending on how many folks are staying there. Their wifi is also very strong there and free as well. The matron there is very kind and nice.. we would come here again... A+ in stay and services.
none. This place was fantastic.
Very friendly lady runs the hotel.
A little bit out of the way.
the old lady is as nice as you will meet. Charlie ( the dog) would love you to take him for a walk, walk up the hill turn left turn left again past the depot and follow your nose into a great forest walk.
38 steps to the front door, 15 minute walk to town, First night in Japanese style room no chairs and sleeping on the floor.
We opted for the Japanese room as I wanted to give my 12 yr old an authentic experience away from Tokyo. The lady who runs it is an absolute angle - so lovely and attentive. She sat with my daughter teaching her origami after dinner each night! We booked dinner both nights as it's a dark walk into town each evening. It was well worth it. The food was wonderful and a great Japanese experience. The Ofuro was lovely especially as we were the only guests for two nights so had it to ourselves. The glass wall onto the forest is great. This place isn't fancy but it's clean and comfortable and a good way to experience real Japanese hospitality.
Nice lady in reception
Very difficult to find the place during night Very small space A/c does not work Very uncomfortable bed Tiny old bathroom
Rustic style in a woodland setting, especially the ofuro. And the sweetest landlady you're ever going to meet.
Our hostess was adorable! And looking out into the woods from the hot bath was beautiful! The food was lovely and we had a wonderful time, would gladly stay again!
The guesthouse is well located, clean inside and quite, the owner friendly and helpful and the hot spring bath was great, looking out on the forest with the sound of a rushing stream nearby.
The very smelly dog at the front door was unfortunate. We felt quite sorry for him.
Far away from the Temple. Absolutely worndown. It should cost $25 pernight. Locals used it as a lovenest for a quicky. But the main problem is the dog that owner keeps outside the entrance on steps. The whole place smells of the dog urine. Revolting!
The location in a wooded area with stream nearby. The traditional Japanese room with tatami mats on floor, shoji screens, etc.
The 15 minute walk from the town center and train station was a bit difficult after dark.
