Casa Miguel is a beautiful, well decorated and typical Marroccan Hotel. We had a wonderfull stay here. The staff is very nice and speak french, english and spanish. The room were great, clean, confortable and the shower was ok. The most delicious breakfast we had In Morrocco.
When we arrived they said that there was no reservation in Casa Miguel but they have "the anex". Is another place that belongs to Casa Miguel but it's far from the hotel and the conditions are not the same. They said that if we agreed to pay more money, we could stay at the hotel, otherwise we could go to "the anex". We were very tired and we just paid and stayed. But this is a very common trick in this Hotel. It's a way to get more money from you. We met some portuguese tourists in Asilah and they told us that the same thing happened to them... It's a Shame because Casa Miguel is a really nice place.
Very nice and accommodating staff (called in advance to arrange meeting up to guide the way in the confusing medina) Good breakfast Excellent location
Our shower broke in the morning The owner arranged a taxi to our next destination but lied (?) about the price
My fiance and I had an amazing stay at Casa Miguel. Honestly, for the quality it was an absolute bargain. The rooms were so cozy, comfortable, and tastefully decorated. The staff was friendly and truly eager to help. The breakfast is the best in Chefchouen (and I feel entitled to say that because my fiance and I had stayed at the top 5-star hotel just two nights earlier). I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Well worth the price. I would change nothing.
Great quirky rooms and decor. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Location is convenient for exploring the medina. Roof terrace available. TV in room and air con. Great breakfast.
Next to a Mosque so can be quite noisy in the morning. The hot tap in our bathroom leaked a bit. View from roof terrace is not great.
The position of the Riad within the old town was good. The staff were very friendly, even collecting us from the bus station to take us to the Riad. The breakfast was excellent. The Riad is very small and quite basic as was our room, but it was nice and clean and very quiet.
It was all good and good value for money. We enjoyed our stay.
Very nice hotel in morrocan style
First of all, be ready, when you arrive that you'll be not in a right building. We came after long long road (you should walk, as no car circules in Medina) and the recepcionist told us our room is 10 minutes walk from here, so she could only propose one that costs 10 euros more. Not only this - for paying by card we should pay 12 euros more (when price of room is 45!). Not friendly personal at all.
Very characteristic hotel quite and particular.
Loud voice praing cooran early morning.
Great breakfast, friendly to the guests, very well positioned.
First night they gave us a room outside the hotel, 10 min walk, completely different from what we had booked. After talking to them they changed us to a better room inside the hotel, where we should have stayed the first place... This second room was great, the first one no so great...
Excellent location, very cosy riad with home atmosphere. Sanae who is managing the place is very friendly and supportive. Breakfasts are tasty and nourishing, done in traditional moroccan style.
the owner the" tajine a la viande" is very good vey friendly staff
Nice room and best breakfast ever.
Staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was great and as we had a very early departure on our last day, staff rose early and prepared a picnic for our long bus journey. This is a small establishment and we liked the intimacy and individually decorated rooms and really everything! It was our first stay in Morocco and one of our best experiences. It is worth booking a dinner one night as it is prepared fresh for you and all the courses are typical foods and come with explanations of what they are. Staff will help with ideas on what to see. I can't speak highly enough of our visit. It is one of our treasured memories of an amazing holiday.
The rooms were designed very well. The breakfast was the best yet.
The staff weren't all that helpful or outgoing.
Everything great! Confortable bed & shower, good wifi signal and delicious breakfast!!
The staff is helpful!
The staff come to our room to fix the TV when we go out, but forget to lock the door after he finish his job!
Great atmosphere, pretty house, people running the hotel are very hospitable. If I ever come back to Chef, I will happily stay there again.
Really friendly helpful staff, rooms were clean. Good location and they looked after us very well. They even arranged a dental appointment for my boyfriend when he got a tooth infection!
Excellent service. Felt so at home. Came and pick me up to take me to the parking. Nice dinner. Overall what a magical experience. Good location
It was difficult to tell if the manager was using thinly veiled sarcasm or was just completely stoned. Either way he made us feel extremely uncomfortable. He clearly had no interest in organising breakfast at 8.00 (or something to take away) so that we could go hiking. Eventually we were offered two brown bananas. Couldn't wait to leave.
Nice staff, decent room. Instead of the double we reserved they only had a smaller room with 2 twin beds and no dresser. Eggs cooked to order weer included with breakfast.
The hotel did not help us with directions or a taxi to meet us at the bus stop. I had requested this in an email, but got no response. The taxi driver dropped us at the wrong place, over charged us and handed us of to a helper. The helper took an unusually long path to the hotel, because he didn't know where it was and then wanted a lot of money. When we left we walked back to the bus stop on our own a much shorter way.
Easy to get to. Very helpful staff. One of them, Amin, is outstanding. Amin's wife is an excellent cook and the quality of food we ate in Casa Miguel was far superior to restaurant food.
The pre-dawn call to prayer is so loud but it is something one has to accept.
Exceedingly friendly and helpful staff who went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and agreeable. Chez Miguel has an easy going ambience and is one of the very best guest houses in the delightful town of Chefchaouen at moderate good value price.
Just that I was unable to stay longer.
Excellent staff, very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is good. Location is good.
Nice position inside the medina and very close to the natural reserve. Very welcoming staff and friendly atmosphere. Good breakfast. Good value for money. Clean room and comfortable beds.
We had a relatively good experience at Casa Miguel for the two nights we stayed there in early January. When the power went out for a half hour or so in all of Chefchaouen, they rushed us a candle to our room. The room was nice and had some really nice authentic artworks in it, but the only window we had was in the bathroom and they didn't have a room with a double bed so we had to push two small beds together. They said maybe the second night they could get us in a different room, but they never brought it back up again so we had to survive with the twin beds. The heat worked really well and hot water shower also worked well, so that was great!.Cleanliness was so-so...we found hairs in our bed and it seemed likely that the sheets had not been changed. This may have been because people were up partying for new years the night before, but that still is not an excuse. The manager spoke english and gave us excellent directions as to how to take taxi, bus, and train to get to our flight in Casablanca. The two male staff members were very welcoming and friendly, especially the one who is not the manager (i wish i knew his name, he was so kind!). The female staff member was unfriendly and silent, but seemed hardworking. They allowed us to leave our bags there because we arrived before the check-in time. Breakfast was good, with a couple different kinds of bread (one morning they were warmed up, one morning they were cold....they were much better when warmed), Lots of different kinds of olives, nutella, butter, and local fromage for the bread, and a warm egg cooked over easy, and served with love.
The Wifi does not work well and was completely unusable almost all of the 2 days we stayed there. Common space was minimal and cramped, but always well-heated, unlike almost any other hotel where we stayed. Most of the hotels in Morocco had a nice common space for guests to sit, but there really was not space for that in Casa Miguel. The room for eating was dark and cold with no windows. Because of the marijuana industry in the region, there are some tourists that come to Chefchaouen for Marijuana tourism. Hotel Casa Miguel seemed to cater to or appeal to that crowd. The smell of marijuana seemed ever-present in the lobby and wofted into our room. Manager seemed to be high a lot, giggling uncontrollably about nothing while explaining mundane things and wearing pajama pants all day. Although we didn't mind any of that particularly, it was not the reason we were in Chefchaouen and were generally more comfortable at the other place we stayed where no one was smoking.
