Based on only 2 days in Loreto, we enjoyed the central plaza with its old church, great dining opportunities - we tried Mi Loreto and Mita Gourmet. Also took a boat tour around Coronado Island - highly recommended. Charming ambience, friendly people.

Small town, very friendly and helpful people.
Small town, very friendly and helpful people. Lots of tour vendors and shops, but no one is pushy. Walked about 20 minutes away from tourist area to a very good restaurant - Domingo's. Worth the walk. Easy to find, felt safe all the way.

After a couple of days there, we looked up crime statistics.
After a couple of days there, we looked up crime statistics. We were pleasantly surprised to find that the average number of crimes committed in the city was almost none! We walked home at night, since everything was within walking distance, stopped and had tacos from vendors on the streets. It was the most peaceful place, we’ve already booked our return trip in July.

Loreto surpassed our expectations.
Loreto surpassed our expectations. The scenery to and into Loreto is breathtaking. The scenery to the San Javier mission is stunning. The 17th century mission and it's history is well worth travelling to see. Loreto was worth the 4.5 hour drive from La Paz, where we are living for six months. We will definitely return to hike the Mesquite Canyon trail and take a trip to isle of Coronado to see the see lions and birds. Not a big snorkeler, but relaxing on the beach will be ok for me. We wanted to extend our visit for an extra day, but we forgot my husband's medication.

My situation might be a little different than most travelers...
My situation might be a little different than most travelers because I drove down from Calif with friends that live in Loreto and who knew the best places to go, so everywhere I went with them was great. Favorite bar and margarita at Vics. Pablano for tacos. All the restaurants around the Mission are very good. Coffee, sodas and water are expensive often as much as the main course. There are many renovations and improvements to the historic Mission district in Loreto on-going. The beach adjacent to the lighthouse is wonderful and the esplanade along the waterfront is very nice to walk. Great airport, very small, but very nice.

If you are not into fishing a long weekend would do.
If you are not into fishing a long weekend would do. It is a small town and can be expensive, but not as expensive as Cabo. We went for six days and it was our first time. There are tours also, but pricey. We walked around town and took the San Javier Mission tour and the Coronado island tour. Had a good time. People in Loreto were very friendly and at no time did we fear for our safety. We will go back again. Gods willing.
Located in a gated golf oriented resort about 15 minutes south of the town of Loreto, the hotel offers two restaurants, pool with swim up bar, and a putting green. Nice beach - shallow. They appear to offer water activities like kayaks and SUPs although not available the days we were there. Grounds and hotel are lovely although showing age and wear. Room was good size, bathroom with walk-in shower and rain showerhead. Lots of hot water in morning, but not in the evening.
Food in restaurants was average but generous portions.
The host, Maria Elena, is very friendly and eager to help you have a good stay - despite the fact we don't speak Spanish, we were able to communicate our questions and requests via the Booking.com translator and she was always very prompt to respond. The location is very central for whatever you want to do in Loreto and the accommodation was spacious enough for two people for nine days and there is good security over the access to the properties. . Overall, I would say it is a pretty good choice for a stay in Loreto.
Ok location outside of Loreto with easy access to main highway There was a bench swing on the veranda to sit on, and available picnic table and barbecue available. The water and mountain view was from the upstairs loft window. The stairs to the loft had one rail against the wall side but open to the other. No bathroom upstairs so need to be careful with the stairs if getting up in the night. Wouldn't be ideal with younger children.
The views!!! The location!! We were Loreto first-timers & we were blown away. A quiet little boutique hotel at the far end of the Malecon made for a relaxing & enjoyable stay. Check in was easy, the staff made sure we had everything we needed & checked in frequently without being obtrusive. Lovely coffee shop adjacent to the hotel, secure parking area on-site, and laundry available. Overall, we were very pleased.
This resort is all about the location! What a lovely place to stay. Loreto will be in our hearts forever! If you love to golf, you will be overjoyed. We don't golf but still found so many things to explore! We hiked the giant rock and went for a long beach walk, kayaked and paddle boarded the calm inlet waters around the golf course. Visit the San Javier Mission an hour drive away...it's well worth it.
Spotlessly clean, comfortable, quiet, and equipped with everything we could possible need during our stay. There were so many thoughtful touches throughout the apartment, that made our stay that much nicer. Staff were very helpful and friendly as well, and we appreciated the convenient location for exploring downtown Loreto and area on foot. Would highly recommend!
1697 is small boutique hotel in Midtown Loreto. It's location is central to lots of great restaurants and shopping with local vendors. The hotel is modern and very clean. The layout is intimate with a small pool in a central courtyard area. It's perfect for a multi-family stay or for a couple. The breakfast was just right.
This was a perfect place for our stop in Loreto. Close to restaurants and shops, safe, clean, parking, and pet friendly. The enclosed yard was a huge bonus for our two dogs. The property management was responsive and attentive, he showed us all the features of the home and was very friendly.
This hotel is composed of cabanas. We had a bedroom and a kitchen. We liked the ambience here - a few families and some older folks used the pool and sunbathed. It is also convenient to town and a nice walk. Of the 3 places we stayed in Loreto, this was our favorite.
WOW. Best location in Loreto. Room was super clean and spacious. I'm very impressed with every detail here. Front desk staff was lovely. Room was so quiet !! Sunrise is spectacular as you open the door to the room !! Can't say enough good things about Oasis !!
The service was amazing alex at front desk and maids always had smiles on there faces and the breakfast cooked to order makes the day start off nice. We have stayed at most hotels in loreto this is definitely the best.
The staff were terrific. The hotel was clean and in a great location. Catching sun at the pool isn’t an option after 2pm because the sun falls behind the building- which was a bummer!!!
The location of the hotel is lovely. The sea of Cortez is right in front and you can jump in the water. The room are spacious and very clean, and the staff is friendly.
False advertising. Overbooked hotel and would not offer me a refund. FAKE!
Also the location is horrible, I would rather sleep in my car.
Do NOT BOOK, BEWARE!
Room was clean and comfortable. Location in the main town square was great. Welcome drink in the bar/restaurant attached to the hotel. Terrace was a good size.
The place was very artsy, nicely decorated, spacious, and comfortable. It wasn't far from the center of Loreto. It felt safe. WIFI was not always reliable.
