After a couple of days there, we looked up crime statistics.

After a couple of days there, we looked up crime statistics. We were pleasantly surprised to find that the average number of crimes committed in the city was almost none! We walked home at night, since everything was within walking distance, stopped and had tacos from vendors on the streets. It was the most peaceful place, we’ve already booked our return trip in July.

    Loreto surpassed our expectations.

Loreto surpassed our expectations. The scenery to and into Loreto is breathtaking. The scenery to the San Javier mission is stunning. The 17th century mission and it's history is well worth travelling to see. Loreto was worth the 4.5 hour drive from La Paz, where we are living for six months. We will definitely return to hike the Mesquite Canyon trail and take a trip to isle of Coronado to see the see lions and birds. Not a big snorkeler, but relaxing on the beach will be ok for me. We wanted to extend our visit for an extra day, but we forgot my husband's medication.

My situation might be a little different than most travelers because I drove down from Calif with friends that live in Loreto and who knew the best places to go, so everywhere I went with them was great. Favorite bar and margarita at Vics. Pablano for tacos. All the restaurants around the Mission are very good. Coffee, sodas and water are expensive often as much as the main course. There are many renovations and improvements to the historic Mission district in Loreto on-going. The beach adjacent to the lighthouse is wonderful and the esplanade along the waterfront is very nice to walk. Great airport, very small, but very nice.

If you are not into fishing a long weekend would do.

If you are not into fishing a long weekend would do. It is a small town and can be expensive, but not as expensive as Cabo. We went for six days and it was our first time. There are tours also, but pricey. We walked around town and took the San Javier Mission tour and the Coronado island tour. Had a good time. People in Loreto were very friendly and at no time did we fear for our safety. We will go back again. Gods willing.

Loreto is a charming colonial town located in a nature preserve that's a UNESCO heritage site. It's low-key and friendly. If you're into swimming, sailing, snorkeling, hiking and relaxing in an unspoiled environment, this is the place.

The town of loreto has beautiful scenery, but it is most always a ghost town . Most everyone I came in contact appears to have an issue with white people. From the malechon , to the oxxo , gas station / gym / golf course / loreto bay hotel . This is not a one off , this was my 4 th time visiting . Denzante bay , was amazing as was the staff / golf course .

The host, Maria Elena, is very friendly and eager to help you have a good stay - despite the fact we don't speak Spanish, we were able to communicate our questions and requests via the Booking.com translator and she was always very prompt to respond. The location is very central for whatever you want to do in Loreto and the accommodation was spacious enough for two people for nine days and there is good security over the access to the properties. . Overall, I would say it is a pretty good choice for a stay in Loreto.

This is a charming hotel just a block off of the main town center square and mission church square. Easy to walk to all the restaurants and shops, but a little quieter than being right on the square. It also had gated parking right across the small street from our room. Breakfast was simple continental (fruit yogurt granola coffee) and delivered to our room at the time of our choice specified at check in. The room was very nice and clean. We will definitely stay there again on our trips through Loreto.

Haydee was very welcoming & helpful. Thank you so much for accommodating us in a larger unit. It was so much more comfortable for a 10 day stay. The staff is very friendly. The place was very clean & modern with muffins & bottles of water on arrival & daily coffee. The rooftop deck with views of the city was a great place to relax. Locked parking at night is a bonus. This is definitely the best place to stay in Loreto.

The Rosarito is extraordinary - a true little oasis, which is only a 5 minute walk away from the city center. The rooms are arranged very beautifully around a dreamy little courtyard. Everything was clean and set up with much love for detail. Eduardo made us feel at home and gave us great advice what to see and do around Loreto. We loved staying here and even extended our stay. We will be back!!

Great little hotel, right on the beach and a few minutes' walk to Loreto 's town center. The staff was super friendly and very efficient. The restaurant and staff was very good. It was great to be able to have breakfast every morning and enjoy the ocean view. They also had nights with live music and special buffets. The pool was very pleasant. Overall the room and hotel was very clean.

Cabañas Rústicas El Benny is a top place to spend a few days in the lovely little town of Loreto. The Centro Historico is right around the corner, 1 minute away with plenty of restaurants, bars and shops. The malecon is like 10 minutes away. The rooms are located in a lovely garden, very peaceful. Wifi is good. Rooms are clean, and Benny is a top host.

The price was great and I liked that the staff was very nice and the hotel had character. We were able to park our truck within the gate but we felt a little bad about that because it ended up being in front of someone else's room. I also liked that the hotel was located on a dirt road in a Mexican neighborhood.

The girl at the reception was super friendly and accommadating. The rooms are spacious with comfortable beds, a great hot shower and good WiFi. The hotel is just a short walk from the historic city centre, with lots of nice restaurants. It was nice we could park our car on the hotel's private and secure terrain.

The apartment was clean, well equipped (all the pots and pans for those who would like to cook), the bed and bathroom both large and comfortable. The property is around the corner from the centre of Loreto and about 15 mins walking from the beach. It is possibly the nicest place I have rented in Mexico so far!

This is our favorite hotel in Baja. Every detail has been addressed perfectly. The room was large, the beds comfortable, the bathroom great, and the AC working well. The pool and hot tub are lovely, and having the restaurant on site is a bonus. Every member of the staff is friendly and helpful.

We left a garment bag in our room and when we called the hotel they promptly retrieved it and kept it for us until we could pick it up. The girl at the office was very helpful giving us directions on where to eat dinner. The room was spotless.
