It was more authentic than most accommodations in this area becaue it was right on the water and great for families. The restaurant was also on the waterfront with trees, flowers and nature all around. Dining was offered inside and outside with outstanding food. Staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were large and outside our door was the beach. While it was a great value, and teh beds and bedding were great, the rooms could use some upgrading. It was clean, but a bit simple
I attended Loreto primarily to visit Sea Kayak Baja Mexico as they offer a specialized service for kayakers and those with adventurous spirits. While visiting I went snorkeling on Coronado which was wonderful, even thought the weather was chilly. We also went up to St Javier Mission which was a beautiful tour and our guide went the extra mile to show us off-road areas in his awesome little minivan. In both cases we hired private individuals as tour guides and drivers as I were a group of three and we preferred the value of the private experience. The favourite restaurants were Mi Loreto, El Caloron and Domingo's Steak House. Wait, don't forget Buena Vida and the wonderful cheesy clams - definitely don't miss those, and I don't actually really like clams. Mostly we walked around Loreto but the odd taxi ride was great. I would go back for more kayaking as the guides and instructors are top notch, and the kayaks are a better quality than most outfitters that I am aware. Its certainly a treat to paddle in warmer water!
All of the tours we took were wonderful! We had especially good guides on the Tabor canyon hike thru wild loreto and the blue whale tour with land and sea tours. Only complaint was that we had to pay an entrance fee to the Marine national park when we thought it was included in our tour fee.
The people from Loreto are very kind friendly people. An example I will use, we were walking back to our room after dinner one night in a very dimly light street. As we came to cross an intersection a car driven by a young local stopped to let us cross and dimmed his lights for us.
There were many favourite moments during our trip to Loreto: seeing dolphins, sea lions and blue-footed boobie birds around Coronado Island, snorkelling, hiking, wandering through town, meeting friendly people everywhere and driving up the windy mountain road to San Javier. There is so much to explore here!
The Mezzoluna Italian food restaurant in Loreto was really good. I followed my nose there since it smelled great from the street. We had woodfired pizzas and shared a green salad with chicken cooked in sherry. Their beer and wine selection is astounding. We tried beers from two Mexican craft brewers but they had other options from all over the world. There are only six tables so go on off hours since it gets crowded.
Haydee was very welcoming & helpful. Thank you so much for accommodating us in a larger unit. It was so much more comfortable for a 10 day stay. The staff is very friendly. The place was very clean & modern with muffins & bottles of water on arrival & daily coffee. The rooftop deck with views of the city was a great place to relax. Locked parking at night is a bonus. This is definitely the best place to stay in Loreto.
I had booked based on reviews online and knew nothing of the hotel prior to my arrival. I was pleasantly surprised by the accommodations, location, cleanliness and comfort of my rooms and convenience of location. I did a lot of walking. I felt very safe and comfortable during my time there and Anna was so very helpful and accommodating! Although I stayed for only one night, I will definitely visit again when I am in Loreto.
The property was spacious, private and very comfortable. Our room was clean and had all kitchen needs for your vacation trip. The location was very convenient , only a few minute walk to the beach. The pool was clean and relaxing. And last but not least our host Cindy was super helpful; especially if it’s your first time in Loreto! Definitely a hotel I would stay at again next time my family and I visit Loreto.
Loreto
I’m addition to a well appointed room with kitchenette that was full stocked, the owners are very warm and well informed regarding activities that one can take advantage of in the city of Loreto. We arrived early and were able to leave our luggage with them while our room was being readied. We highly recommend this boutique hotel centrally located near the historic district, malecon and restaurants/cafes.
The hotel was immaculate, well-designed and felt intimate. The best part of the stay was the service provided by the manager, Alejandro, who was friendly, accommodating & capable. He helped with a couple of requests which he clearly went of his way to assist with.
This is a wonderful little oasis near the malecon and centro Loreto. The casitas are situated around the perimeter of the pool under the palms. Heavenly. They are located within walking distance of the mission, great restaurants and shopping.
Loreto
The place was very artsy, nicely decorated, spacious, and comfortable. It wasn't far from the center of Loreto. It felt safe. WIFI was not always reliable.
Beautiful room and territory, best breakfast in Mexico, location right in the center of Loreto and close to the sea.
hotel is great and we were there over Christmas. I jus t probably wouldn’t choose Loretto as a destination.
