24 h reception, Good location close to center. No elevator, and if you are unlucky you can get a room on the 5th floor, which happened to us. Very steep stairs, and the price is still the same as on the 2nd floor. The room high up was VERY small, compared to the room on the 2nd floor that our friends got. You should not pay the same amount for two totally different size of rooms. Plus there was almost no pressure in the shower, we could not even wash our hair.

It is the best value for money, because it is near to the tram station and supermarket, it has a good location for a city trip and a tasteful breakfast. Also, the hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. They have a standard procedure with your credit card in order to securitise their money even I told them I will pay cash. I think this procedure is specific to small hotels because I booked many hotels via booking.com and this was the first hotel which put in practice this procedure.

The service was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful from the minute we arrived to the minute we left. We were greeted with a free welcome drink and given a city map and an explanation of the main points. Free drinks were available at all times along with fresh fruit. The buffet breakfast was plentiful and had an excellent choice. The room was spotless and had added touches such as chocolate, fruit, water, tea and coffee-making facilities. Wi-fi was available and there were 2 computers in the reception area, also without charge. It was excellent value for the price.

Very nice staff, always pollite. Stayed in the twin with the jacuzzi and small terrace which came with a fridge, that was handy They froze the money which I had in my account which became unuseable as it must transfer back and can take a few days.

Just come back from a cracking week in Amsterdam and the first 3 nights in the Alp were excellent! Does exactly what it says on the tin, clean, friendly and very well run! 24Hr Tea/coffee a real bonus! Wifi access on the top floor!! Breakfast was much better than expected, big buffet of meats/cheeses, fresh bread/croissants, smoking area outside.....total class act! Thank you, I'll be back again!

My two sisters and I wanted to tour Amsterdam and the Alp Hotel was convenient to public transport which we found easy to use to get to the sights we were interested in seeing. The staff was very helpful answering any of our questions about getting to places, using transport, etc. If they didn't know the answer, they would look it up on the internet. The breakfast was good and when you returned later in the day or evening, a free cup of hot coffee or chocolate was available to you. Our room was adequate for the three of us; comfortable. We were pleased with our choice of booking this hotel. The only difficult aspect of staying at this hotel are the stairs which are very steep so might pose a problem for someone who has difficulty managing steps. Staff will carry luggage up and down the stairs for you but you need to feel comfortable using them after that. This is not an unusual situation for Europeon hotels.

Everyone was very kind and helpful to us during our stay there. Very nice, bright room for 3 with an excellent breakfast, fresh croissants, fruit salad, cappuccino, many choices. Overall, a very good value, in a nice neighborhood across the street from an Albert Heijn grocery store and restaurants. They arranged a cab for us to go to the airport to catch our flight. We would certianly stay there again and will recommend it to our friends in the US:

The two words that best describe this hotel are 'personal touch'. The staff did everything possible to make us feel at home away from home. As we arrived, the receptionist provided us with maps of Amsterdam and information on tours and attractions in the city. The room was spotless and every day when we got back to the hotel from a day in the city, we found two apples and a chocolate bar on the bed. The breakfast was very generous and fresh. There’s a tram stop right across the street and you can get to Dam Square and all other tourist attractions in 5 minutes. We strongly recommend this hotel and would definitely return on our next trip to Amsterdam.

Very comfortable beds and super breakfast buffet Not everything in the bedrooms worked properly. Shower leaked and fridge didn't close properly. We booked 4 rooms and they were not an equal standard. One double was much too small for a double - however we did receive a small refund for this.

The owner and staff were so kind and helpful during our stay - nothing was any bother. We were given a tea and coffee on arrival before being shown to our room. We had a bright twin room with tea and coffee making facilities, jacuzzi, fridge, bottled water and fruit. The hotel was spotlessly clean, friendly and well managed. The breakfast was excellent with choices of cereals, fruit juices, meats, cheese, freit salad, fresh bread/croissants, tea and coffee. The hotel is a 7 minute tram ride from the Central station (no.13 passes the door of the hotel) There are a few nice small restaurants in the area - definitely try Sorrento Papa Longa. Would not hesitate to go back to 'the Alp' and would recommend it.

Comfortable rooms, helpful and friendly staff, good breakfast (Turkish owner, so no pork / bacon - which is great for us) and free hot beverages all day! Hotel staff left apple, chocolates and water on our beds and room cleaned every day. Very close to tram stations and city center. Free wi-fi at all rooms and also 2 computers at lobby. It will be my first choice for my next Amsterdam vacation.

Very kind and helpfull stuff.hot bevarages and fruit available all day for free.breakfest buffet beyond standard for this type of hotel in range of 30 euro per night. People experiencing trouble with noise might have trouble in the morning with trams since hotel is located on cross roads of two tram lines.Ho be honest rooms are very clean, bathroom brand new and aslo very well maintained, housekeeping at decent level but room size is bellow standard size.

Room was gorgeous! Staff were lovely. Free drink at check in was nice touch. Beds were very comfy. So much so we slept in for breakfast all 3 morning!! We will definitely choose this hotel if we go back to Amsterdam. As previous reviews have said it was quite noisy but it's in the heart of Amsterdam!! Thats what we expect!! Loved waking up in the morning and hearing the bells of the trams and bikes!!
