My two sisters and I wanted to tour Amsterdam and the Alp Hotel was convenient to public transport which we found easy to use to get to the sights we were interested in seeing. The staff was very helpful answering any of our questions about getting to places, using transport, etc. If they didn't know the answer, they would look it up on the internet. The breakfast was good and when you returned later in the day or evening, a free cup of hot coffee or chocolate was available to you. Our room was adequate for the three of us; comfortable. We were pleased with our choice of booking this hotel. The only difficult aspect of staying at this hotel are the stairs which are very steep so might pose a problem for someone who has difficulty managing steps. Staff will carry luggage up and down the stairs for you but you need to feel comfortable using them after that. This is not an unusual situation for Europeon hotels.

1. Stuff is really friendly and helpfull. 2. Good location - only 6-7 min by train #13 till Dam square 3. We had a room for 3 persons, so it was very nice, with a small terrace equipped with a table and some chairs. Bed linens, towels are clean and soft, also there were cosmetics for a shower. 4. Breakfast - tasty and rich. 5. Public PC near the reception and WiFi. 6. It's really nice to see apples and sweets as well as welcome drinks in the room. Well, maybe just stairs?!)

All the staff are very friendly and helpful.Especially the owner of the hotel Mr Savas and his son takes care of all the guests individually. The hotel is very clean and close to the city center. Also there is a tram in front of the hotel if you dont like walking:)One of the best thing of this hotel is its breakfast. It is very rich. You should not miss it.At the lobby they always serve complimentary tea, coffee and fruits. There is a computer which you can use for free.Very friendly staff. If I go to amsterdam again I would definitely stay in alp hotel and I strongly recommend it to everyone.Thank you very much for your hospitality.

Easy to find even the bus driver knew exactly where to direct us. Great reception, we were greeted with the welcome drink which was most appreciated. Stairs were steep as we had expected, but the receptionist offered to carry our luggage. Breakfast was well organized and great food. Overall a great stay. We would definitely stay again as it's plumb in the middle of city center and museums. Since the building next door is for sale we think the owner should buy it and expand! Great hotel, good employees and clean. .

All the hotel staff were really friendly and helpful. On arrival we were given a map and shown the main points of interest and which trams to get. Good continental breakfast. Location - on a tram route two stops from the pretty part near Anne Franks House. Nice and clean. We were right at the top - 67 stairs which of course, being Amsterdam steep and narrow! Tram noise. Room was small.

Location was fine, breakfast was fair, rooms were clean. The hotel was as expected for the price paid, except that the room was too small. It was a double room, but two persons could not operate at the same time in the room as it was so small.

liked the location right opposite the tram stop, handy for tired feet but having said that it was only a 10 minute walk to Dam Square. friendly helpful staff who where great at giving ideas for places to visit. rooms comfortable although there was a lot of noise from the trams but as we were only staying for 2 nights i wouldn't say that it was a major problem. in all this wee hotel was great for a weekend break.

Construction on 4th floor just outside our room. Tiny room and bathroom. It was very difficult to move around the room. Not big enough for 2 people. Extremely rude night staff. They lock their door at 10pm and when you arrive back at the hotel the night staff treat you like an inconvenience, not a paying guest.

The Alp was an excellent hotel, from the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff to the little touches of apples and chocolates on the beds everyday and free bottle water in room! The hotel is spotless and the decor is lovely. There was construction work going on while we were there but we were emailed before arrival and it never bothered us. Tram outside hotel took you into centre in about 5 mins, they were bars and restaurants near hotel, had real enjoyable time in bar around corner with live music and really friendly people!! I would definately stay at the Alp again. Loved everything

a female staff at the front desk, Sabrina, was very helpful and informative. The room is tiny but not smaller than we expected. It was clean and comfort. Breakfast was really good and it was included in the price. Fruits, coffee, and tea were free flow for the entire stay. The only thing we didn't like was the stair which is quite steep, and a bit dangerous.

We had a fantastic stay at Alp Hotel in February 2012. The staff were really welcoming and incredibly helpful throughout our stay. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff and we were made to feel really welcome. The rooms were really clean and small but comfortable - a choice of firmness of pillows was great. The breakfast selection was fantastic and varied and there was plenty of it. Having the reception area to be able to sit together and have a cuppa at the end of the day was really good. All in all I would highly recommend staying at Alp Hotel for a short break in Amsterdam. I'd read loads of other reviews that mentioned the noise from the trams and they were spot on! The front rooms are really noisy but thankfully by the second night we were so tired out from trekking round Amsterdam that we barely noticed!

I strongly suggest this Hotel. The stuff was very friendly and helpful.Location is very near to city center. Tram station is in front of the hotel and it just takes 10 minutes to get from the hotel to city center. The breakfeast was wonderful. 24 hour free hot drink and fruit service is very impressive. Also free Wifi worked well. Nothing, but just absence of elevator.

Very comfortable beds and super breakfast buffet Not everything in the bedrooms worked properly. Shower leaked and fridge didn't close properly. We booked 4 rooms and they were not an equal standard. One double was much too small for a double - however we did receive a small refund for this.

The owner and staff were so kind and helpful during our stay - nothing was any bother. We were given a tea and coffee on arrival before being shown to our room. We had a bright twin room with tea and coffee making facilities, jacuzzi, fridge, bottled water and fruit. The hotel was spotlessly clean, friendly and well managed. The breakfast was excellent with choices of cereals, fruit juices, meats, cheese, freit salad, fresh bread/croissants, tea and coffee. The hotel is a 7 minute tram ride from the Central station (no.13 passes the door of the hotel) There are a few nice small restaurants in the area - definitely try Sorrento Papa Longa. Would not hesitate to go back to 'the Alp' and would recommend it.
