good range of breakfast choices, free tea, coffee, and helpful staff who gave extra local information Being located opposite tram stop meant easy to get to and from, but our room was noisy with trams and traffic. Earplugs provided. |

The hotel staff was incredibly helpful. Many things are available for free, like a bottle of water in the room every day and fresh fruit. It is clear that the owners take much pride in their hotel. The rooms on the road are, as other reviews have said, very loud. |

The genuine way the Alp Brothers, Michelle & Alexzander at Reception made us feel during our stay, myself and one of my party has a bad back they kindly took our suit cases up to our rooms which were on the second & third floor, they not only did this on arrival but also on the day we departed. The unlimited complimentary Tea/Coffee/Fresh Fruit/ Chocolates & Bottled Water which were available througout our stay was just wonderful. I have stayed in many other hotels in Amsterdam which have a 4/5 star rating and their service does not even come close to the excellant services which was provided by you all. Alp Brothers & staff many Thanks to you all, love& XXX from Edvina, Grace, Rose, David,Laurice, Maureen.(We are all coming back soon) |

The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful with directions and coordinating a cab for transport to the airport. Our room was very small - not a great value for the money |

the most wonderful thing was the family atmosfer they gave us and they were for us any time of the day. the same problem in europe hotels there is no elevator and claiming up 4 storis for elderly people is hard.they have to ask befor every resevation the age or fisical condition of the guests. |

The friendliness and courteousness of the people working at Alp more than compensated for the basic facilities that the hotel offers. Their genuine concern for the welfare of their clients is quite impressive. I would definitely go back. |

They're very helpfull explaining everything to the guest, always 1 bottle of water per day in our room and fruits for free. breakfast really good. hotel really clean. We going back for sure and recommend this hotel for everybody. They clean the room daily, but didn't change the trash bucket in the bathroom and didn't change the sheets in the 3 nights we were there. |

Friendly staff, well located, room is nicely decorated. Breakfast very nice The wooden floors-guests on the floor above our room kept us awake by coming in very late. Also, there was no lift and carrying your luggage up the stairs is a problem |

All the people assisting me at the front desk were extremely helpful assisting me with the businesses and directions I needed. The room was very clean and attractive. The breakfast choices were amazingly varied and delicious. The sound of the traffic on the front was loud but I could sleep thanks to the ear plugs you provided. |

Great staff, very helpful and provided accurate information to tourist attractions. The room was comfortable and quiet on the backside of hotel. Easy to get places if you like to walk or rent a bike. If you don't like walking, it can be far. I think the front rooms would be loud. Rooms are small. |

I really liked the friendly staff although the evening/night employees didn't speak english very well (this was however only disturbing when we checked in during the evening and tried to solve an issue with our payment). Another really good thing about the staff was how helpful they were with information and tips about Amsterdam. The breakfast was good and our room was cleaned everyday and they gave us complimentary water and chocolate on the room and they also changed the flowers on the balcony so they were fresh whenever needed, really nice gestures all of them! We were very pleased with our stay at the hotel and we recommend it to single/couple travellers who want to stay a bit more comfortable and nice during their stay in Amsterdam. The only thing that was a bit upsetting was that they reserve the amount that your stay will cost, which wouldn't be a problem if you agree on paying with your credit card and pay the extra 4 % in exess of the amount that resides (which can be quite a lot of money when you stay for a week as we did). We knew about this extra cost so we wanted to pay cash, which we couldn't withdraw since the amount was reserved by the hotel. However the issue resolved itself, and we payed a part of the amount the first day and the rest when the hotel cancelled the reservation. Another heads-up is that the hotel is completely non smoking, which means that you can't smoke on your balcony (if your room has one), however, it is aloud to smoke in the backyard. Also try to get a room towards the backyard so the trams won't annoy you (we did, and we barely heard them). |

Staff was helpful to us even before we arrived! Great impressions! Breakfast was satisfying! I was charged 20 euro for bottle of wine (stated to me in English), when I clearly heard the manager say it was 18 (in Dutch). I felt cheated. |

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and the room was clean except for the bath after using the jeatstream in it... The room description said "jacuzzi", but without pictures you couldn't really know what to expect. Upon arrival this jacuzzi appeared to be just a normal bath with a jetstream in it. After using it, the bath was full of hair and some other dirt so to be short: don't book this room for the jacuzzi. All in all it's a fine room in a location not far from the city centre. |

The hotel was very well presented with easy access to the tram system, however this was also its downfall. The rooms at the front of the property are far too noisy with the constant traffic and trams. Some sort of soundproofing is needed. |
