Outwith a rather noisy birthday party both in the dining room and outside in the garden on one of the evenings we would say that the stay was perfect. Staff were extremely helpful and should anyone be considering visiting the area we would without hesitation recommend Hotel Creusen.

I love to hike and the rolling hills surrounding Epen are...
I love to hike and the rolling hills surrounding Epen are ideal for good hikes with a great view, but you're also close to Maastricht and Aken (both by car and public transport). The countryside is beautiful, and many locals sell cherries and other fruit from their own orchards. There are several nice restaurants with al fresco dining options. De Smidse has got a nice menu and local ales. In the spring/summer also check out the 'Wingbergerhoeve' for ice cream with red fruit.

Located in a designated "silent area" (which lives up to its name) on the Dutch/Belgian border, this hotel is a great place for a retreat. Surrounded by hills, forests and streams, it is an excellent starting point for hikes or bike tours. It is not far from the lively cities of Aachen (Germany) and Maastricht. The bar is situated in a cosy living-room with two fireplaces and comfortable couches and chairs. Last, but not least, the breakfast is superb.JohannesFrance
