This is a really cozy, stylish and cute guesthouse in the amazing Al Hamra little village. It is a traditional building of more than 1000 years old all made new with a great style. The room is very comfortable, the common area is great to chat with other guests and the roof terrace is just amazing to see the sunset with views of the village. The breakfast is all home made with the most delicious jams, breads and juice.

We stayed in Old Al Hamra at the Al Bait Aljabal Hospitality...
We stayed in Old Al Hamra at the Al Bait Aljabal Hospitality Inn which was wonderful. Beautifully artistically decorated. The very helpful owner found a local guide for us Abdul Rahman Alabri to take us in his 4x4 to Jebel Shams to do the Balcony Walk. AbdulRachman was truly excellent with a lovely kind personality. Very informative. I would never have managed the Balcony Walk without him as, although a hill walker, I can experience a fear of heights. The Balcony Walk has big drops on it though you are never truly exposed. Being with a local guy who knew what he was doing gave me confidence. His cousin owns a lovely cafe Saef in amongst the palm trees in old Al Hamra. You really are away from the commercial side of tourism there. Al Hamra can act as a base for many other places in the mountains. Easy to get to Misfah for example

Traditional and very quite place in the middle of a small heritage village. Friendly and helpful staff. As a family of five, we had booked two rooms. One with bathroom, the other one had shared bathroom on the floor. All very clean and comfortable to use. Great old style Omani flair within the house. Definitely suitable for families and well located to have day trips around the area as there is plenty to see and all nearby. 24/7 access, however, check-in before 11pm recommended. We would have appreciated a breakfast included in our price.

Both Al Hamra and Misfat al Abriyeen are Not to be missed.
Both Al Hamra and Misfat al Abriyeen are Not to be missed.
Please consider that the property is not in Al Hamra but Misfat al Abriyeen. The 2 villages are near but totally different with totally different things to do and see (Al Hamra or THE Red is and old village on a plain with red mud houses. A traditional house, completely restored, built in the Yemeni style, offers a glimpse into the lifestyle of traditional Oman. Misfat is only a few km away but on top of a gorge and wadi. The tour of the village through small alleys, winding stairs, pools of water and a working falaj system is mesmerising.
it s a very new hotel, with 6 rooms, made of stone very appropiate in the area, it fits good with the mountain landscape, the rooms are big and clean, the staff Ali Hussein has be very kind, it was low season and they let me extend the check out, cause I have been hiking gill late. Thanks for this attention.
very well located for Jebel shams hike
the hotel doesn’t have restaurant but the owner booked me the dinner in the hotel next to this and that was very kind of him.
hot shower with good pressure
Very new apartment building. Rooms are big and with lift. Bed is big and comfortable. Little kitchen not a full stove but the small induction plate can boil food. Fridge is convenient to chill friut and drinks for hiking. Wifi is available in every room. Good enough for browsing (but not for videos)
Location is excellent easy access to Jebel Shams and the village of Misfa Al Abriyyin.
Many shops and restaurants nearby and there is always free water, coffee and dates in the lobby.
Hamza was an absolutely incredible host for our stay in his hotel. We received great tips on where to go and when from him, and the home cooked dinner was one to remember.
The hotel itself has a fantastic vibe between how it is painted and decorated, and of course the terrace overlooking the palms and farmland. The room was a great size, outfit with a fridge and a comfortable bed. We were at ease and relaxed the entire time.
Al Hamra Horizons was a great stay towards the end of our trip in Oman. There was easy parking in front of the hotel, the rooms are spacious and clean, and all of our needs were easily accommodated. Our host, Ahmed, took time to sit with us at night engaging in conversation and sharing his beautiful culture. It was easy to get to Jebel Shams, Misfat, Nizwa and more from this location. I would definitely recommend it to friends!
This accommodation exceeded our expectations. The hotel is in a beautiful location amidst the ruins of the old Al Hamra. It has an excellent atmosphere. The hotel does not have a reception, but the owner will come when called. Faisal was very friendly and also told us many interesting things about the history of the place. Can highly recommend it to everyone.
I don’t know where to start, the stay was just perfect.
The hotel is an authentic Omani architecture in the middle of the oasis field, the terrace is awesome for tea or reading a book. Hamza - the owner is a great host, very helpful and full with good vibes
Best stay in Oman
very clean, all equipments work perfectly, owner of hotel is very helpful, help me a lot with everything i need, beautiful rooms and spaces to talk to new friends, good rooftop view, peaceful absolutely, from this location you can easily to get a hitchhike to Misfat for free
It has a view of the summit of Jebel Shams and is very close to the canyon viewpoint. The house is finished in a typical Omani style and is comfortable enough for small to medium groups. In the evening the lights and fire pit really add to the ambiance.
We've stayed here several times, and we always enjoy ourselves. The owner continues to make small improvements around the property, and we love the fire pit and the fact that we can bring our dog. We look forward to our next trip!
The secluded location and coziness, the staff are extremly friendly.
At the side door of the hotel there is a very nice camping area and I spent the night there in my sleeping bag warmed by the fire I started
Hotel well located in Misfah, you can easily from your room go for a walk into the palm grove. Rooms really typical, with beds on the floor and a nice decoration, with a private rooftop for some rooms
Its an easy hostel that started beginning 2022 but already made good progress. Rooms are clean and the distance to the Jabal Shams hikes is small. Location wise it's pretty perfect.
It's a beautiful little hotel about an hour away from Jebel Shams.
The building is super cute and authentic. The staff is lovely.
Very clean and convenient.
