If you are looking for a stay that perfectly balances traditional charm with modern comfort, Beit Alfateh is a stunning discovery. From the moment you walk through the grand fortress-style archway, you feel like you’ve stepped back in time, but with all the luxuries of a boutique hotel.
Architecture & Atmosphere
The property is designed to resemble a historic Omani fort, complete with high mud-brick style walls, crenelated turrets, and heavy wooden doors adorned with brass studs. The courtyard is spacious and serene, paved with natural stone and framed by majestic mountains in the distance. The landscaping is beautiful, with yellow-flowering trees and palms creating dappled shade over the walkways—perfect for a quiet morning stroll.
The Rooms
The rooms are a highlight of the stay. They masterfully blend earthy, traditional aesthetics with modern needs:

Beautiful desert views, great facilities and friendly staff. Not a large camp, which is what we were looking for. Must do the dune bashing for amazing sunset views in the dunes!

Staying at Koofan Heritage Lodge was absolutely worth it! The house is full of history and there is a museum on the property. The staff were super attentive and went out of their way to make sure we had the best time. I would stay here again!!!

The property was very clean and the caretaker (Mr. Sajjad) was very helpful. The property is about 200 meters away from the sand dunes. The views from the property during the morning and night are equally spectacular. There is a road for cars that are NOT 4x4 to reach the property as well. However, it’s best to contact the owner for guidance. The rooms are spacious and beautiful. The surroundings are clean. The owner was very friendly and polite. We loved our stay!

This was a great way to get a bit deeper into the dune sea and enjoy a world away from the usual urban hustle-bustle. There was only one other couple there on the night I stayed. The food was great and watching the sunset over the dunes was spectacular. They also arranged a camel ride at the closer-in camp, and this was also a new experience that I was looking to have while in the desert.

The hotel was very good value for money. The service was friendly and good, the rooms were fine and clean, breakfast was ample and the location opposite the garden mall right on the main road was great.
