Eating - we loved Casa Nova restaurant. Also very good were VegANGELov and Kalmegdan Terrace restaurants.
Fabulous and very good value Opera.
Easy to walk around the centre but for trips slightly further afield buy bus/tram tickets at the office on the second floor of 6, Knez Mihailova.

I try to see the positives in places but overall I didn't enjoy Belgrade. It is quite an ugly, run down city in many areas, not a huge amount to do in the city and unfriendly. We definitely got a strong feeling that most locals didn't like Western Tourists due to the NATO action in 1990s. Some were kind and welcoming, but mostly rude, which made us feel uncomfortable. We were treated very rudely in a few shops/restaurants for no obvious reason which shocked us. One tour guide constantly mentioned politics and was anti-west, which made for a painful situation as we are not political. It was almost as if he held us responsible for 'NATO aggression' as he put it. We saw huge military posters on buildings also and various political slogans on buildings, masses of political banners everywhere.
On the plus side, the food was delicious, but very meat orientated so probably not the best place for vegans! Alcohol cheap also. It's a brilliant place if you like strange, brutalist architecture as it's everywhere.
The Serbian countryside was lovely and bucolic, so it was nice to explore the beautiful nature on our own. Golubac Fortress was very impressive and many pretty fairy-tale looking Monasteries. Novi Sad was a much more attractive city than Belgrade and possibly a more relaxing/friendlier place to stay. We did a very nice walk to Avala Tower through a beautiful forest, that was very much a highlight.
If you go to Serbia I'd recommend staying in Novi Sad and doing Belgrade on a day trip rather than the other way on, it's a much nicer city.

Belgrade waterfront is perfectly designed and maintained,an oasis every big city should have.Otherwise,Belgrade with its hills and rivers has a lot of potential but beautifull -it is not.Charming though-it is.With traffic chaos, bad infrastructure, poor public transportation, dilapidated buildings but friendly, direct people,a lot of restaurant choices and vibrant nightlife. You will likely love it at the end.

Great value for money, especially when it comes to food and other consumables. Belgrade is something of a cradle of multiple civilisations and there are plenty of things to do both in the city or on day trips.

Overall Balkans are not for us as we had some previous experience with Montenegro.
We don't really like fat food, people smoke everywhere and even the capital Belgrade looks dirty and you can feel different smells, you know.
But still the architecture is really interesting and we loved our walks through the streets, bicycle culture seems to be great as well.

Thank you for your unprofessional response.
Thank you for your unprofessional response. That clearly states your educational and customer service level!!
By saying "I used your coffee machine, broke it, and caused a flood in your hotel" is just outrageous!!!!!!
It was prepared for me by your staff! There was "no sign posted anywhere, do not use this machine" !!
Before you unfairly accuse another guest of breaking it, perhaps you might add it in the future!
From 9 pm to 9 am I was unable to access the internet. It wasn't inaccessible "for just 45 minutes", as you said in your comment.
First and first, you ought to train your staff in providing a good customer service, and it goes without saying that the person who replied back to my review ought to have done it herself/himself first!!!!!!
I would never stay at your hotel again, and I would never recommend it to anyone either.
Thank you and goodbye from London City!!!
Hotel is on convinet location for city exploring and in quiet part of town. Staff was very kind.
Room is spacious with high cealing so it was enough air in it without bad smells.
Linen and towels was very clean and bed comfortably enough.
Breakfast was excellent and if you like basic and tasty local food this is one of the best hotel breakfast that I had in Belgrade.
Very important is that hotel had its own parking space which is very valuable in parking problematic main city of Serbia.
An unusual place - a hotel on the water. We had a spacious room with a terrace and a jacuzzi bath, enjoyed all these extras, and for a good price.
Our flight was at night and the receptionist, who was here after midnight, did't speak English, only Serbian, but there were no problems to communicate. Day's staff speaks English good, is very responsive and helpful. I really liked surrounding , a lot of green areas. You can go to Zemun, which is a very nice suburb, different from Belgrade.
The location is just perfect because you will be located in the center of Belgrade near the famous Kalamegdan, the streets around are pretty alive. Good for someone who wants to visit Belgrade and mostly by walk.
Had one of the appartement with the bedroom and living room, lovely one, I felt at home, was important to me as I am originally from Serbia.
Ana, that I had the chance to have on phone will try to help you for further questions and welcome you the best way with her team.
One of the best hotel in Belgrade, Staff was very much courteous, and they go the extra mile to help you and serve you. We got a free upgrade to the suite room which was fantastic. Special thanks to manager Uros who has taken very good care of us while we stayed there. We had 2 days booking there and 2 days in Hilton, we loved it so much that we cancelled the Hilton and stayed 2 more days at Metropol. If you are traveling to Belgrade this is must book hotel.
You find it available ... you book it. View of Belgrade from 16th floor is breathtaking. Very clean apartment, EXCELLENT communication from Andrej with videos of instructions about our check in and advise to make our stay comfortable. Pure luxury in the heart of Serbian Manhattan (Belgrade Waterfront) with underground parking space for our SUV. Thanks for everything. It will be for sure our first choice when we reach Belgrade in the future
They upgrade me for free from an individual room to a lovely big suite. They allow two of my job colleagues to stay and change clothes for free because they had a 4 AM flight. They even call to my room to offer a late night pizza for free!!! The buffet breakfast, superb: best of Serbia taste, best of international. And the Hotel is one minute walking from Knez Mihailova, the coolest street of Belgrade. I will come back.
People at the reception are beyond nice and helpful. You should definitely book their airport transfer, it's affordable and driver was very professional and polite.
Free juice and coffe for guests, traditional Serbian dishes and sweets for breakfast.
Hotel is not too big and if you don't like crowds this is a perfect place for layover in Belgrade. Rooms are new and sparkling clean with available slippers .
The apartment is in the city center, in the heart of old Belgrade, which makes it good for walking around the old town. It's cute, cosy place, with comfortable rooms with old Serbian architecture. It has a private parking within 100m for 7 eur per day which is good as most hotels can't offer the same. It was very clean, no remarks there. The host was available through all the time prior and during the stay.
The best 4* hotel I've ever seen. It's old fashioned XIX century hotel with polite staff, carpeted floors, historical furniture in lobby, ample breakfast. The room was comfortable too, and my bathroom was like a second living room. The hotel is situated in 2 min from Knez Mihajlova street and the same 2 min from bus stop Brankov most (bus 72 to airport). The Belgrade bus station is 15 min by feet.
Everything! The staff were very polite, helpful and made my first impression of Belgrade. I liked it so much that I came back to the same hotel when I got back to Belgrade after going to a couple of cities in Serbia. Lydia was super friendly and welcoming! The folks at the reception were also very professional. Room is quite spacious. Really enjoyed my stay.
We were upgraded from the Apartments to the Hotel Serbian Garden, and stayed in quiet yard-side rooms.
The location was convenient just a few minute walk from the city center. The manager, Maja, and the staff (Ivana and her colleagues) were very helpful in arranging airport transfer, Covid-19 test booking and report printing, etc. Thank you so much!
The most cozy hotel in Serbia city center. Convenient and close to everything. The reception man is clever and make your checking in quite efficient. And the girl staff is hospitality. Like the style of no-smoking everywhere indoor. Smell fresh. The space is intense but deep designed, and the facilities are great reasonable. Will book it again.
The hotel is located at a very centre of Belgrade. The location is absolutely amazing. The hotel was fully renovated so everything is absolutely superb .
you
The staff, the Service are exceptional.
Buffet. Breakfast is absolutely amazing. You can find all traditional Serbian food plus a lot more
Incredible value for money
The room was very comfortable and the staff were the best part of the hotel. They were very friendly and always there to help with a smile. Nikola at the concierge desk was our go-to guy, he really took care of all our plans with great efficiency. The location of the hotel was also perfect no too far from the city center.
The window looked directly to a small park.
There was no noise from outside.
The location was even closer to the city center than we expected.
The host (Maja) was very friendly and even offered to pay for my parking in the morning (zone parking in front of the hotel, payable only by Serbian mobile phone)
The location of the hotel is good. Easy connectivity towards the Belgrade city center. The cleaning staff were really helpful, changing towels, providing shampoos and soaps daily. The people at reception were also good but i found one the lady, may in her thirties at the reception is very rude.
A lovely comfortable room, super friendly staff and delicious breakfast. The hotel is about 10 mins walk from the pedestrian street of the Old Town and also close to the river and Waterside Walkway. This was a great base from where I also visited Novi Sad and East Serbia.
I stayed on two seperate occasions. The staff members were super friendly, helpful and approachable. Also the best part was the location of the hotel. Can't wait to get back to Belgrade and to Stella Di Notte infact.
Love <3
This was the best hotel we stayed in Serbia by far. The staff is amazing, very helpful and friendly.
They helped us with our covid testing arrangements.
The room was specious and clean, very warm during winter.
Location of the hotel is amazing. Bo better location rhan this one. Dorćol is beautiful in spring, lots of green.. Best time of the year to visit Belgrade
