La libertad is nice but el tunco is a bit better in my ooo ion with more to do. We walked the beaches however the tide was pretty high most of the day so it was difficult to properly enjoy. The town is easily walkable. They were setting up for a surf competition so the park and a few other places were closed leaving a la k of options. Pa y Ma had great food in town!! Probably the highlight of the area.

I stayed 2 days and really enjoyed my time there. I stayed in playa st Blas during the day and drove to playa El Tunco every evening for the restaurants and the night life. My husband and I stayed for several nights, and we really enjoyed the proximity to everything in El Tunco. The hotel felt very safe, it had a delicious breakfast, and the room was very comfortable. We had air conditioning and a mini-fridge and it was such a treat. The messaging back and forth before arriving was also very helpful and responsive to my questions. I would definetly stay again and can highly recommend.

The resort has two pool areas (one includes a swim up pool bar). The food and drinks were excellent and well priced. The room was large and absolutely fine for a couple. I loved that the hotel provides free water via a dispenser which was great. We also had a little fridge in the room which was helpful.

The staff were extremely nice and helpful (even with limited English). A rocky beach is right outside the hostel, though there are massive, round rocks and the tide is strong. Great for watching the sunset or taking a dip. I also really appreciated the turtle sanctuary.
