Everything was perfect, close to everywhere, with super nice, helpful, and friendly staff, and a complete breakfast. This was my favorite place during my whole stay in Thailand. The room where we stayed was kind of big with a lovely Asian Japanese style, in my opinion. There was nothing to complain about regarding cleanliness, and they replaced our bottles of water and towels if needed, with amazing daily service. In the lobby, they helped me book activities during our stay, and the recommendations for tours were accurate and amazing. This place exceeded my expectations for sure.

Surrounded by Thailand’s highest mountains, Chiang Mai is the beloved, idyllic and somewhat mystical capital of the North. With more than 300 temples, it's considered one of the most important cultural centers in the country.
Despite being Thailand's fifth-largest city, Chiang Mai still has a relaxed and laid-back feel. Modernity, trendy shops and boutique hotels haven’t altered much of its picturesque and peaceful atmosphere.
This reputation is partly due to its proximity to lush green areas, mountains like Doi Suthep, and its panoramic Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep temple. The Doi Inthanon National Park is 37 miles away with Thailand’s highest mountain.
Hotels in Chiang Mai’s old city center are a popular choice, with picturesque scenery featuring its moat and older temples. Chiang Mai hotels can also be found around the Chang Klhan Rd, where the famous Night Bazaar takes place.
The city’s nightlife runs along the Loi Kroh Rd, while Ratchadamneon Road hosts the main Sunday night pedestrian market. Don’t forget to buy an umbrella from Bo Sang and eat a bowl of kao soi.
Whether you arrive at Chiang Mai International Airport or come by land from Bangkok, don’t miss "The Rose of the North" deals on Booking.com!

Chiang Mai is my favourite asian city, lively and if you want you find also chilling spots. And the people are really friendly, not as if you are their atm, just honest as if you are a close friend. I love to return asap <3 Also the area around Chiang Mai with hot springs and caves and beautiful nature with streets made to be explored by bike or motorcycle is awesome and wonderful. Not to forget to mention the delicious street food: Yummy as yummy can be. When you visit some of the many temples pls be respectful - and you will be fascinated anyhow.

I think it might be a great location for younger travelers and rich old people. The city has nothing but touristic activities, tours, parties, fancy restaurants, and fancy massage places. I got bored of seeing touristic activities.

Love Chiang Mail and would go back again. However, the hot weather was uncomfortable. The traffic was bad and we were stuck for more than an hour.
We hired a van driver through Get Your Guide and highly recommend it, provided you do some homework and know what and where to visit.

Chiang Mai was so chill that I almost forgot my cell phone. I could enjoy the city without using my phone which just like I had left every bad memory behind in my own country and enjoyed the present of the atmosphere of the City. I then understood why my co-worker visit Chiang Mai every single year. Besides, the food was so affordable and extremely delicious. We are planning to go to Chiang Mai soon with my friend again shortly.

Chiang- Mai has changed over the years; several places were closed during the pandemic but never reopened. The city is now more international, with a growing number of Chinese tourists and residents. Northern culture and local warm hospitality still remain.

Chang Mai is much bigger than I had realised.
Chang Mai is much bigger than I had realised. It has some historical sites, including the obligatory temples, and unique city walls and gates, as well as lots of activities for nature lovers, animal lovers and those that like "doing" things like canoeing, rafting etc. We went on a tour with Annie to the Sticky waterfalls, which was brilliant, and also did a night tuk tuk tour to several temples and the markets which we really enjoyed, and attended a Khantoke dinner and show, which was excellent. There were also lots of places to eat in the numerous markets, and lots of places that offer cheap massages. I would recommend flying here (cheap and frequent flights) and then doing lots of day trips/ activities from here, including the white temple and blue temple located in Chaing Rai. Note, it is a few degrees cooler here than Bangkok - a blessing for us as the rainy season is just starting and it is very hot and humid here (late May)
Great hotel. We had a mini suite with a living room and kitchen. The place was large and very clean. The staff were really helpful as well and cleaners brought water and fresh towels daily. It's a quieter little area but within 5 minutes walk to 7-11 and bustling street area. We used Grab and got into the old city in about 7 minutes and rarely had to wait longer than 5 minutes for the Grab. Comfy beds and good internet. I was really surprised by this place and it exceeded our expections.
Most amazing was the staff - so kind, helpful and in a good mood. They went above and beyond to make my stay as enjoyable as possible. Especially ‘Fr@_Me’ was extremely supportive and friendly. I also very much enjoyed the delicious breakfast and the free glass bottled water. I also had the chance to meet the owner who is an incredible inspiring personality. Thank you very much to all of you I enjoyed it more than in the 5 star hotel - best value I ever experienced in my life!
Great hotel with pool in the west side of the old city. Close to many restaurants and a mini market. Tons of breakfast places nearby which is good, as the hotel has no kitchen. The place is absolutely spotless and is almost constantly being cleaned. Good air conditioning and WiFi in every room. The maintenance guy, cleaner and night check in man is an absolute legend. The majority of the staff are absolute diamonds. We extended our stay twice, it was that good.
Por Arak is a little oasis tucked in old town Chiang Mai. The staff went above and beyond - they’re very accommodating and answered all our questions. 5 stars to the staff
Breakfast is automatically included in your stay and the food was always delicious - mix of western and Thai breakfast dishes with lots of fruit. There was unlimited water and coffee/tea. Loved!
Their focus on eco-friendly products and practices added to my love for Por.
Nud (our concierge) was extremely hospitable, friendly, and always available! She gave us the best recommendations throughout our stay and was there to help us book all our activities and rentals.
The hotel was very central to everything (walking distance) to restaurants, bars, gyms, markets, etc., within the Old City. The property and room were very clean and quiet. Nice rooftop area with private pool.
Quiet hotel in a good location with very friendly staff and a lovely breakfast included in the price.
Hotel is located within the walls of the Old Town and is about 25 minutes walk to the old city gates. Good choice of bars, restaurants and shops within easy walking distance too....particularly worth noting that SP Chicken is located next door to the hotel - I recommend trying this for lunch.
Absolutely stunning colonial property, everything has a 5* quality. Beautiful pool, and as small boutique hotel feels very personable and welcoming. Rooms exceptionally clean. Vintage cars available for transport. Only a short walk from a night market, and short tuktuk ride to the old city. Perfect for those who want to enjoy a more peaceful side of Chiang Mai in luxury
Located within in the old city, within walking distance to one of the main temples. The Sunday walking street passes directly opposite.
Breakfast is buffet style but with an additional choice for the egg option/soup.
If you book directly with the hotel, they provide access to small tours.
Free bike to use which is really handy if you would like to explore more.
Lovely stay in a wonderful Lanna styled boutique hotel. The hotel was lovely and the staff made us feel like home. Really recommend this accommodation in terms of hospitality, comfort, cleanliness and if you are seeking for an authentic accommodation nearby the old city of Chiang Mai. Just a few mins walk from the old town and we rented a scooter nearby the hotel.
Everything about this place was perfect. The staff were lovely, the rooms are big, the pool was very clean and the decor was awesome.
Location was also perfect, the north east of the old city is the nicest imo.
There's a nice coffee shop attached to the hotel and a 5 min walk down the road you have The Blue Diamond Cafe which serves the best breakfast!
One of the best guesthouses I’ve ever stayed at. The swimming pool, the bar, the weed shop, the music playing, the young vibe. I loved it.
My room was specious and had a comfy bed, decent WiFi, and decent shower, couldn’t ask for more. And the price, one of the most adorable private rooms in all of Chiang Mai’s old town district. Highly recommend!
The staff (especially the girl at the reception) is very friendly and helpful! The location is great, you can walk everywhere in the old city and to the busstation. The rooms are clean and quiet. The pool area is small but very relaxing. The breakfast is perfect. We would absolutely recommend to stay in this hotel when in Chiang Mai.
Clean, the pool was good to use. The day we left early to the elephant sanctuary they packed a little breakfast for us on request. All the main temples in the old town are a 10min walk. There are also restaurants and bars close by, yet the hotel is not loud at all. I would recommend if you want to stay in the old city.
Location between middle of old city and night markets/bazaar on south east side outside old city.
I only had the budget room, but was more than happy with size and amount of light coming in window even though close to a wall outside
The hotel itself is nice but fell short in many ways.
Breakfast was AMAZING. One of the best hotel breakfast I think I've had in a hotel that's not buffet style but a lacarte. The staff was lovely and the views to the old town pagoda infront of the pool was beautiful and gave my family the chiang mai experience they needed!
This hostel feels almost like a hotel with the sleek design- super clean and comfortable. The location is safe and great for exploring the old city in Chiang Mai and staff is helpful with bookings. The patio and free coffee are also added perks!
I love the old Thai style hotel in the old city. Free tea, and coffee in the morning. Lovely swimming pool. My favorite short term place to stay in Chiang Mai. They always remember me and treat me well. Nice hospitality.
the best hotel we stayed at in thailand. the staff was friendly and always helpful. Amazing complimentary breakfast and a great location. Would recommend to anyone coming to Chiang Mai
