The property is close to Wat Phra Singh, Tha Pae Gate and Chiang Mai Night Bazaar. The accommodation features a shared kitchen, a shared lounge and luggage storage for guests. This is the PLACE team, if you're in Chiang Mai, this hostel is a strong contender for the best one around. It's such an unassuming door on a main street, once you head in it's so beautiful and lush, relaxed and lovely! There's free coffee tea and snacks, free cold drinking water, the bathrooms and showers are many and all very good, with hot water and slippers to wear in the bathrooms. I didn't use the pool so I can't comment, it's beautiful but very small. One thing I will focus on is the STAFF. Absolute GEMS. They helped me with so much, getting a scooter at closing time, helping make my hitchhiking sign, suggesting places and most importantly, great conversation. Would visit again and feel right at home, just because of the team. See you again next time, friends!

The location was within walking distance to everything in the old city or a short tuk tuk ride when we were feeling lazy. We'll definitely stay here if we return to Chiang Mai.

Hostels – what are they?

Hostels offer so much more than a cheap place to stay – they're also a fun way to travel and meet like-minded people. Common areas like shared kitchens and game rooms give you the chance to swap tips, tricks, and travel stories with backpackers from all over the world.

Hostels have come a long way since the first youth hostel opened back in 1912. Nowadays there's something for everyone, from budget "crash pads" to 5-star "poshtels." Whether you'd prefer a bed in a shared dorm or your own private room, you'll see that most hostels are cheaper than local hotels – and a lot more fun, too!
