Budget travelers know there's no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: Save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a little more.

Hotels That Guests Love in Chiang Mai
  • We absolutely loved our stay here, although we were only there for one night. It was a nice change from the usual "backpacker hostels". We got a good deal and would highly recommend. Close to great restaurants (Aroy Dee) and bars. Also the pool was a great bonus! Taxi service can be ordered at reception.

  • Friendly and clean place, with comfortable beds and a nice social area to meet other backpackers. No parties at the hostel itself but they organise some evening activities for their guests. The location was good, not in the Old City but very close to it.

  • Good location in the city, backpacker atmosphere all around, balkony infront the hostel, nice and open people all around

  • I really enjoyed staying at Napbox hostel because of the good facilities, super kind staff and a great location (on the saturday market street). Highly recommend for backpackers, groups and couples!

  • One of the cleanest hostels I’ve stayed in as a backpacker. Dorms were great - curtain, big locker etc. Staff were really helpful too (especially Tommy!) and the communal areas are great - love the elephant artwork upstairs
