The calm sea!
Stray cats and dogs and cockroaches around the hotel. My husband was also bitten by bed bugs on his last night at the resort. The only saving grace is the location of the hotel.
The hotel is right on West Railay Beach, so it's quite nice. Staff is friendly and very polite.
The room is old. When we got there, there weren't any towels in the room so we had to call the guest service. I really wish that the outdoor bathtub has a heating system.
The picture perfect beach.
Aircon for both rooms in the private weretoo cold, cannot be adjusted. One aircon was leaking. Didnt sleep well for the high price that we paid for.
Can't imagine a more beautiful place to sit & have breakfast
Location is absolute perfection, right on the beach. We stayed in a privacy bungalow which was great, felt like you had your own little piece of paradise. Outdoor hut tub!
Hot tub is a bit on the cold side so might be better used during the day when the sun is out.
private villa with simple spa, lovely rooms. no noise and great value for money. The dining area and pool are on the beach.
We stayed in a lovely cottage with outside spa bath. Room was clean. Good wifi. Easy access to both sides of railey.
Very expensive for food and drinks. Didn't eat there once other than the included breakfast Because of the price. staff a little stand off. Not rude but not entirely welcoming either
Impressive location and friendly staff
Only accessible by Boat, you need to wade in to the sea and clamber aboard not really suitable for older, disabled or if you have heavy luggage or babes in arms. Room description misleading 90 sq m Cottage includes outdoor space actual room is approx 20 sq m. Very rustic furnishings and lots of mosquitos.
The full moon party som ble arrangert på hotellet! Mye bråk
At check in we were told that the front pool, bar and restaurant were closed for a private party for two days for a company called "Rouch". I was never told this at the booking time. I feel I subsidized this party. I was then told I could buy food at there sister hotel a few doors down at Railay east area...the food and service there was terrible. Our room which was a hut style deluxe wa big old and dirty...had old curtains that were so dirty and disgusting. Found a live worm crawling on my bathroom floor. All the furniture is old and worn...this place needs a complete make over.
No question the scenery of Railay Bay is spectacular, however so are other locations in Thailand.
Unfortuntaley the area has become a victim of commercialism, which really lets this hotel down, however I suspect that all the hotels are the same. Someone needs to explain to the staff (in Thai) that they are in a service industry and it is the customers that keep them employed. Management would learn something from a customer service course as well. Not much evidence of the "Land of Smiles" ! The garden bungalow was comfortable enough but I think the bed may have been softer if they replaced the mattress with wooden planks - it was like trying to sleep on concrete, and I generally like a hard mattress. Transfers and tours are cheaper (sometimes 50%) and more personable when booked through the many online agents. Would choose an altogether different location given the choice again.
Location; helpful staff; great food, especially omelletes at breakfast(!); breathtaking views from pool; watching amazing sunsets.
Too few sunbeds and pool area too small for size of resort (but don't see that this could be changed).
VALUE FOR MONEY!
Wonderful location, vegetation, nice beach and restaurant overlooking the sea, good accomodation and choice of food for breakfast. All in all, great for couples who like nature and a quiet place for relaxation.
Everything was great! Thanks!
The bad not comftebol
Good location with access to the beautiful beaches
Air conditioning was very noisy and toilets were a bit stinky because of the water pipes system
Our private bungalow was amazing - spacious, clean, far enough away from any noise but still a very short walk to the beach and both swimming pools. In general the staff were friendly and welcoming, we loved Bea and Akaram at the pool-side bar. Both were a lot of fun! East Railay was easy to reach and it was fun walking back through the sea late at night after dinner, drinks and muay thai boxing at the Last Bar.
We were unable to book a table for dinner - unsure why because each night we were asked to move as tables had been reserved.... very annoying
Beautiful private cottage...perfect little honeymoon hideaway! Beautiful Railay West beach. Close walk to West beach, East bars and restaurants, and beautiful PhraNang Cave (save more baht during the day and grab your lunch and snacks from the long tail boats!) Good selection at breakfast - items varied every morning. Always had fresh fruit! Room ready ahead of listed check-in time. We arrived at 11am and was in our cottage by 11:30! Golf cart escort to cottages far from reception (yes it was a bit of a hike but made us that much closer to PhraNang which in our eyes was the best beach anyways)
Very little English spoken and understood by staff. Hotel restaurant is expensive compared to rest of Thailand...save some baht and walk to the little family run restaurants on the East side. Moms Kitchen and Last Bar were our faves! Pool chairs always "reserved" with people's towels by 7:30am, but were almost never occupied during the day. Never once sat by the pool because of this...
Beach Breakfast Almost everything, nothing is bad, except the transfer to the hotel from a port. Could be inconvinient in case of low water.
The area was reasonably quiet
Dirty rooms Poor Bed Linen Old style Television Old dark furnishings The rooms really need a face lift as they are very tired looking Restraurant does not sell Pork Everything here was at least 50% more expensive than Au nang which is a far better area but you are a captured audience here certainly not value for money
Unhappy staff in resturant slow service very expensive food and poor service around pool. Bad communication with bar staff. Pay them more money.
We were located quite close to west railay beach - the non mangrove side. In quiet bungalows with our own spa. The complementary breakfast was great. Great bathroom. Nice shower. Fantastic beach on the west side and a few minutes walk to the mangrove side takes you to reggae bars and the like if you feel like a later night. There was also a safe for you valuables
If the internet is your thing - the wifi is rather patchy at times - as you would expect on a beach area only reached by longtail boat! If you came for a beach holiday and want to sit on facebook perhaps you should stay somewhere like Patong!
The nice and friendly staff, the good food and the excellent location direct on the sandy beach, surrounded by big mountains.
When you arrive and leave you have to wear flip flops because you have to walk Through the water with the luggage.
