Assistance with personal transport and local tours very helpful. The island hopping suggested by staff was great.

Upon checking in, they suggested us to upgrade to the room with a pool, and we took it - best decision ever. It was amazing to swim in the private pool with views of the sea.
The staff is very polite and helpful, you can count with their support for any inquiry/service, including motorbike rental.
Great selection for breakfast, I liked their chicken rice soup.
Room is clean and cozy. Includes bath robes.
There's an amazing restaurant on the other side of the road, Seaside, a must go. We went there 3 times during our 2 night stay. The restaurant at the Hilltop is also good.
If we're ever back to Koh Yao Yai, we'll definitely consider staying here again.

This has been my favorite stay at a hostel. So much so that I stayed another night. Great vibe at the hostel- very chilled, but it was so easy to meet and talk to people. They had tours available that were great. The beds were comfy. The owner was helpful! All around great. As a solo female traveler, I felt very safe on this island and in this hostel.
Baan Taranya Koh Yao Yai - Sha Plus is located in the tropical rain forest of the Koh Yao Yai Island in Phang Nga Bay. A private beach is only 1312 feet away from the property.

The food was excellent value for money, both breakfast and dinner. The host was so lovely, really helpful and kind. She organised a long tail boat trip for us to Hong Island and also took us and collected us from the pier. We had a fabulous day thanks to her. She also organised for us to have a massage in our room. She always went above and beyond to help.

A great island, just like other Thai islands used to be before they became too busy with large hotels. Quiet beaches and friendly locals.
The relatively long speed boat journey from Phuket will prevent large groups from visiting: a real positive! Worth taking a trip around the island to discover how the local economy still works.

Lovely place to stay in the middle of the island.
Lovely place to stay in the middle of the island. It has just reopened, so I was the first guest and treated very well!
So great to hear the sound of Nature at night, looking at the stars. If you're lucky, you'll see fireflies.
The place is simple, you get everything you need, the beds are big, confortable, a good night sleep! The hostess is very nice and will help you with everything you need.
Many cats around as the hostess look after them with so much love. Glad to support a business where part of the money goes for animal care.
Thank you! I loved my stay.

We loved our villa. We had a private pool.
We loved our villa. We had a private pool. The resort had 2 more pools, one was infinity and the other one on the beach level. But we didn’t feel the need to go there because of the private pool that we had with the villa.
We had dinner in Chantara restaurant every single night that we stayed the fool was delicious. We eat halal and they provided halal food.
Overall the experience was so good that we are planning a longer trip next year with the whole family.

Exceptional. Amazing. An experience we will never forget.
Exceptional. Amazing. An experience we will never forget. The hotel is so underrated and the pics on the different websites don't give any credit to this place. It's a paradise. All guests we met were had the same review. Rooms are amazing and comfortable. The resort is like a nature reserve. The infinity pool great with spectacular views, you never want to leave. The beach has hammocks. Breakfast and restaurant were lovely. The attention to details was certainly clear. You can also get luck with game viewing (we saw a Water monitor!) - Paradise! Recommended to everyone and anyone.

A great island to vacation on, people all over the island...
A great island to vacation on, people all over the island are very nice, you can rent a motorcycle and travel all over the island. Very cheap prices, an excellent restaurant called Gala, the best on the island and in the Krabi area.
This was by far the most lavish, White Lotus-y place we stayed on our honeymoon - and it was awesome! All the restaurants were fantastic both for food and ocean views, our room was huge, and the balcony had a great view with a jacuzzi. The rooms are kind of clustered like the Ewok villages in Return of the Jedi, meaning there was lots of greenery and each room felt secluded in the treetops even though there were guests next to you. The fire dancing show at night was impressive too. Super comfy robes and slippers.
As others have said the hotel plot is long and thin, which only allows 1 bungalow to face the sea. The grounds are kept immaculate as was our room, however ask for towel / bedding changes if needed.
There are local restaurants the best we found was “Chill Chill” a 15 minute walk – out to the end of the road turn left, down the hill and up the other side, its on the left.
As other reviews have said you need a scooter, the hotel rent us a nice one for 5 days @ 250 baht per day.
Absolutely great place! Quiet, very tasty breakfasts, private beach and awe-inspiring sunsets! For me the best place to stay on Koh Yao Yai if you like a bit of luxury, but not overpriced and with a bit of local spice. We rented scooter on northern part of island (cheaper then closer to hotel). Also - small gym, but almost always empty. If you need to do cardio or small workout - great. A place to chill. We'll be back for sure. Can't wait :)
because of the defamation laws in Thailand. - all I am going to do is to quote the hotel manager when I had an issue.
let his own words say how he feels about his customers.
We will evaluate your review and decide after we send your name to the Emigration or not.
Have a nice day
if you like to stay in a place where management, threatens you with reporting you to Thai police and immigration, this is a great place to stay
This is the best service I have recieved ever when traveling in Thailand and I have been here 6 times. The «bungalows» are very cozy and the staff are wonderful. The owner does everything to make you’re stay nice and I am so happy I chose to stay at Resting Place. If you are visiting Ko Yao Yai, this is the place to be😁
This property has been exquisite from start to finish. The location, the staff and the amenities, it all blends in perfectly.
The resort is located on a quiet part of the island, with a beautiful view. The staff are friendly and welcoming, always with a smile and ready to help.
Private access to the pool was amazing. The beach was beautiful and quiet and sunsets were lovely. Restaurants nearby were very good. The breakfast food choices were typical for Thai hotels and plentiful. We loved it and added another night because it was so great.
I have to recommend this place! The best hosts we had on our trip to Thailand. The rooms are clean and pleasant, 2 amazing beaches within walking distance and in addition you can rent a motorbike from the place and go wherever you want. Really big hearted people
Our villa was spacious and clean, the big bed was very comfortable. The outdoor day bed was awesome.
The main pool was really nice and view of the limestone karst islands at the pool/restaurant was spectacular.
The resort as a whole was peaceful and quiet.
Amazing view. The Best View from the room and the wooden art is very beautiful.
You have a large spectacular balcony
The beach is Amazing
One of the best hotels in this area
Thanks to Sagar for helping us book a boat trip and transferring our luggage
Everything was good, clean. Loved the open shower, hot tub and the porch of the little house. The whole resort is well mantained and the pool was exceptional. All in all we had a very relaxing time. Staff was a delight. Thank you for having us

The sweetest owner ever. We rented scooters from her to explore the island, ordered ferry and taxi with her, she got us a bottle of water everyday, she made us breakfast and she got us the best recommendations of Ko Yao Yai.
The hotel is located directly at the beach with a stunning view of the ocean. The stuff was always helpful and taking good care of us and the property. We had an amazing time in this family friendly resort.
