A wonderful resort. Brand new and very well designed. Great beach. We enjoyed the pool access rooms. Really good if you are looking to relax and unwind. Nearby village and beaches have lots of tourist services such as taxi, guided tours and laundry.

Updated and clean rooms. Good breakfast and refreshing pool. The beds were comfortable and the location is perfect. Down the street from the main road. Lots of food, shopping and music around the corner. Very helpful staff. My mother forgot her purse in the can to the ferry and the owner was able to contact the driver and get her bag back to us in time. tastefully decorated.

I loved this place so much that I had to come back. We went to this region mostly to stay at Phang Nga Origin Hotel and I’m so happy we did! We went to some of the local restaurants and sights they recommended and they organized a scooter for us. They even organized a taxi for us to Phuket Airport. You’ll be in the greatest hands when staying here.

Soooo much to love about this place. I loved having breakfast by the sea every morning—with a nice selection of foods! We also loved the surf shop (Low Tide) located behind the hotel, which allowed us to surf almost everyday. **note that it’s only recommended to surf during low tide. The bed was SO comfortable—probably the best we’ve experienced so far in Thailand. The staff were so kind and always with a smile. We enjoyed our stay so much that we extended a week! Hopefully we can come back soon. P.S. book the sea view room, very much worth it, even if you can’t “see” that much of the sea.

Wowzers! This is one of the most beautiful places on earth. Hard to beat Khao Lak. Hotel is new, and very modern. If you are into modern architecture and sharp angles, this is the place for you. The Thai food served is excellent, and the drinks are generous. The pool is absolutely stunning. Breakfast is great, with lots of variety. The place is very popular with European retirees, and there were very few North Americans. I think we were the only ones. The Hotel throws a free cocktail party at 6PM for guests. Hard to beat a couple free glasses of wine and some sushi...

Would have liked to do Khao Sok, and because there's a lot to do around Khao Lak, would probably have enjoyed an extra day or two to actually stay on a beach and relax. We hired bikes, perfect for the area, and accessed Surin and Similan islands, snorkelling and scuba. Personally thought Surin and the snorkelling was better. Have fun with the 7-elevens.

I regret to say that our stay at Santhiya Resort & Spa was...

I regret to say that our stay at Santhiya Resort & Spa was extremely distressing and unacceptable. The room was infested with bedbugs, making it impossible to sleep and raising serious hygiene concerns. There was no functioning air conditioning, despite this being essential in the climate. Food service was also poor — meals were served cold, and beverages such as beer were consistently warm. Communication was a major issue throughout our stay. No staff members were able to communicate effectively in English, which made resolving problems impossible. Rather than assisting us, staff laughed at us, dismissed our concerns, and made us feel threatened and unwelcome. Most concerning was being explicitly threatened that we would not be allowed to leave the island, which caused significant fear and distress. This behavior is completely unacceptable in any hospitality setting and made us feel unsafe. There were no redeeming aspects of this experience. Due to the serious health, safety, and conduct issues encountered, I strongly advise others to avoid this property.

The island is fairly small, with good road infrastructure that can take you around any point. People were friendly and calm in general. Lots of things to do around, easy to get to Ko Yao Yai even with your scooter and explore the island, probably need another full day there or more. We recommend it strongly to everyone who wants to spend a quiet week in Thailand on a affordable price.

If you want to visit a clean beach for swimming and water activities, this is not a good option. there was plastic and other rubbish every where, both on shore and in the water. The resorts locally are lovely though and still worth staying at. We stayed at Santhiya and it was wonderful. The best thing about this area is it is not overcrowded and the locals are lovely

Lots of things to photograph here. Street photography, landscape, seascapes, drones, portraits, temples, wildlife. The Elephant Cave was awesome, and we even arranged to photograph it with our tripods. Lots of monkeys were running around. We took our scooters about 20 minutes away to a dock and launched drones to capture beautiful river deltas. About an hour away was a nice sunset spot called Samet Nangshe.

Beautiful beach with soft sand, safe warm sea. Very quiet. Have to hire a scooter or taxi to get around. Can walk along the beach to other resorts but too far to walk elsewhere. No shopping or night life!

Trips to the islands are a must Ko lak is a cut above Phuket more refined better restaurants excellent choice of hotels and all in all nicer people No gangs of young Indian lads it was a joy to return to the old Thailand

Such a gorgeous little island, which feels more untouched...

Such a gorgeous little island, which feels more untouched and away from the masses. Friendly locals and just the right amount of shops and resteraunts to try. The perfect island to relax and unwind. A shot long boat trip out to nearby islands for some snorkelling was a great activity with our smaller kids. So many fish to look at!

We went in May with a group of friends and found it a low key and relaxing island. Beautiful beaches and a few places to explore. I think scooter hire is a must-have to be able to get around...that was a highlight for us just cruising around the island! The hike to the 'big tree' was way harder than expected but the gorgeous secluded beach at the end made it worth it. In low season it seems like at least half the restaurants and shops are closed so you can't rely on google to tell you where to go, sometimes you just have to drive around and see what's open.

Very poor. I wouldn’t recommend it. The room

Very poor. I wouldn’t recommend it. The room was tall and had all the facilities you need and the pool and beach area is nice. But for going there you have to cross a public road with lots of traffic. But the worst thing was the food. All our food experiences during our whole stay there was just unacceptable. When we told our complains at the first Dinner to the waitress (the tiger prawns were like gummy the rest was more ore less tasteless) she just said ‚ok‘, left and didn’t come back for a long time. The breakfast offers many different food options but mostly weak quality and poor taste. There is an egg station where they offer also poached egg. When I ordered one, it was (pre-cooked) picked out of a plastic box in the fridge and served cold; the omelette Thai style was disgusting - really not what you expected in a 5* Hotel. If you’re staying at the resort anyway, you should eat outside the hotel,for example at Natai Seafood.
