FAQs about hotels in Atlanta

Peachy City of Historic Importance

Home to the world’s busiest airport and a vibrant arts scene, Atlanta has an important role in US history. The gateway to the American South, it's home to barbecue and hundreds of peach trees that make it a surprisingly green city.

Hartsfield-Jackson Airport is the main arrival point, and Booking.com has an excellent range of Atlanta hotels near the airport. However, the main sights are clustered around Downtown. Near the gold-domed Georgia State Capitol is Underground Atlanta, a shopping center at the former downtown street level.

Just north are a few hotels near Georgia Dome, a huge sports venue, and to its northeast is Centennial Olympic Park, commemorating the 1996 Olympic Games. On one edge of this park are the CNN headquarters with behind-the-scenes tours. Across the street is the New World of Coca-Cola where you can sample all their worldwide products. Next door is the massive Georgia Aquarium, the world’s largest indoor aquarium.

In the Auburn district is Martin Luther King, Jr.’s former home and church, and a museum dedicated to him and the Civil Rights movement. A few blocks south in Grant Park is the city zoo, and the Atlanta Cyclorama and museum, detailing the city’s Civil War battles.

More national history is in the Carter Center, and the former home of Margaret Mitchell, author of "Gone with the Wind.

So much to like and we definitely will return as we didn't get to do half of what we wanted, due to having too much fun on our second night ;) Tabernacle was a great music venue. Northside Tavern is a must for bit of history, vibe, locals and good blues. Coca-Cola Roxy another excellent music venue. Lots to do the in the city and all close walking proximity. Enjoyed the College Football Hall of Fame more than expected! Didn't get to all the other attractions, but wished we had. Didn't get to Five Points, MLK area, recommended eating places or the belt line :( Locals so friendly everywhere, we met different people at different times who both showed outstanding hospitality and took us to bars and music venues they thought we'd enjoy and we did. Staying out at the Battery was lovely great area! Enjoyed the tour of Truist Park, go the Braves! Need the train line to run out there pls :) We also went to Ameris Bank Amphitheatre, what an awesome venue for live music! Also need a train line to here too pls.

Ive heard how lively and vibrant Atlanta was but I didnt get that sense. If you're going for a concert or a game you're going to have a good few days, but otherwise theres really not that much to do here, especially without hiring a car

Was born, raised, educated and fled from that city in 1984. Horrid traffic, corrupt city and county governments, high prices. Not fun anymore. Suggest Savannah or Blue Ridge Mountains around Hiawassee. Avoid Atlanta; there are better Georgia destinations.

We went to Atlanta to go to the Georgia aquarium, and it was amazing. Well, worth an out-of-state trip. The Aquarium was right next door. The Olympic park was across the street and beautiful. Several great restaurants within walking distance.

The hotel is very close to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, yet far enough not to be bothered by aircraft noise. The room was very spacious, and the bathroom was nice too with a lovely, big, clean bath. The kiosk at reception is pricey but had fresh juices. The bed was big and firm and I slept for a good 10.hours. Granted, the 2 flights earlier that day also contributed to a wonderful night's sleep.

Nothing. Due to storms I was stuck in Atlanta. I tried to book a hotel among all the other things I was trying to do rebook, eat etc along with a million other people. Somehow I booked the hotel for the next day. I remember putting in the correct date so I don’t know how that happened. No hotel room and out $170 and had to stay in a crappy Hotel and pay again. BS

Canopy by Hilton in Atlanta Midtown was a real gem of a find. Quiet rooms. Great location, 10 minute walk to a lovely square with great restaurants and a 10-15 minute Uber to Buckhead Village (nice shops and eateries). Also about 30 mins from airport. Clean, modern, spacious hotel. Comfy bed, great bathroom. We would stay again. We would recommend.

Upon arriving the front desk clerk told me they didn’t have any rooms left. I told him I made reservations. They gave my room to someone else.and told me that booking.com supposed to have notified me. After driving 7 hrs from Nc to Atlanta. No where to stay. Finally found a over priced hotel to stay in at the sleep in hotel.

Excellent location for exploring midtown, huge park and shopping nearby, including very good food mall adjoining the hotel. Easy walk (2+ miles) to downtown attractions, bus service available if desired. Room furniture was a little strange: no large dresser for clothes. Would definitely stay here again.
