Secure parking Secure hotel Very nice & accommodating staff Open lobby Easy access to McCormick Place & Cabs readily available
Location and the bar on the first floor.
VERY NOISY. Hotel did not remove obnoxious guests disturbing the peace.
Spaciousness of the room with a separate sitting area. The free parking is a very big plus. The office center is very well equiped and the free coffee machine is a very nice plus.
The fitness room is equipped with older equipment and no elliptical machines.
Staff had a bad attitude
Marijuana odor through out hotel
Free parking Location - take bus #29 and you'll be at downtown in 20 mins
Other guests - heard loud music from next doors and more than five people shouting and yelling in the hallway from 1am - 3am Saturday night. Call front desks twice but the problem remained unsolved. Those people KNOCKED my doors twice, threatening me and my friends. We could barely sleep that night. Staff - No response to our calls on that night. Complained again when checked out. She told me the manager would arrive at 12pm and would call me before the end of the day. Never got the call from them.
The staff was always very friendly. The parking lot was free convenient and secure. Beds were very comfortable. My family of 5 stayed for 6 days, and we had no complaints whatsoever. I loved the tub too! My favorite part of the whole trip:)
Free parking, bus stop right outside the hotel, location, spacious room and cleanliness.
The loud and drunk clientele it attracted on Saturday night. Woke up several times from midnight to 5am to people yelling in hallways, loud music and swearing. Sunday night was perfectly quiet.
Free gated parking 3 minute walk from 29 bus stop with direct access to State Street and the heart of Chicago.
The place was always clean and scented. Was amazed at how great foyers of all USA hotels were but rooms lacked. By car (not walking) the hotel is within a few minutes drive of Chicago CBD. Parking included was fantastic!
Staff were a bit cold to us to match the weather. Beds a bit hard and rooms just ok.
It's nothing I didn't like
This is an awesome hotel. Exceptional front desk staff. Exceptionally clean room, comfortable bed. We will be back.
Warm staff and available taxi services
Restaurant, bar and in-house mini-shop not open 24hrs.
the location, accessibility to the places I wanted to go
on the first night I checked in (because of the flight time) very late in the pm, early in the am). check in at reception was delayed because the clerk (later) said he was busy doing administrative work. I waited 10 to 15 minutes for him, and by then I had "tude" and he had "tude" (he wanted to know "How can I help you". I gave him my name and he still insisted "How can I help you". I got even more tude after that; asked him why did he think I was giving him my name. He pretended to not know why. I thought very hard about going to another hotel, but it was late and I was tired. The next day the same clerk, banged on my door after midnight and insisted that I had to vacate the room (since I had not paid for my original reservation which was 1 day after my late night check in)!!!!! When I went down to pay, there was an extended confrontation about why I was not presented with the bill earlier in the day. The clerk tried to intimidate me. Unless there is a desperate shortage of hotel rooms when I'm in Chicago I will not willingly stay at South Loop again. After extending the back end of my Chicago visit, I moved to the Hyatt, McCormick Pl, which had cheaper rates, better service, appropriate staff
Hotel staff were very friendly and will to help with any needs we had. Place was very close to VanderCook College of music which was our main reason for the trip. Hotel was clean, the free parking lot was next to hotel and very convenient.
Access to restaurant was good and menu seemed very nice. Something for everyone.
The 5 of us intended to eat supper in hotel but the restaurant closed at 6:45pm for a private party. The bar was not to our liking (elbow-high tables for two) so we ordered out from Connie's Pizza for delivery to our room. Next morning, Closed at 8:40am. Another party? so had to eat in the snack lounge. These closures were not made obvious. Even Conserge said, would not need reservations for Friday evening. In fact, had we tried to make them, we might have been told: Closed.
Good location close to McCormick Place. Good connections to downtown with bus no 29 and subway. Great Wi-Fi. Fridge and coffeemaker.
Downtown location without downtown price
added tax and security deposits AFTER listed "total price" made things difficult for my group of college students, still cheapest hotel we could find so I don't see why they need to deceive people
Staff woke up me in mid night asking for payment immediately which I have done in the mid night. They did not find any other better time to do this other than mid night.
Nice location (around 10 minutes to the main atractions - field museum, Adler planetarium, shedd aquarium - by car). Free parking, free WiFi.
Taxes are too high (I paid almost 50 dollars). But I know that it is a standard there.
Near to my conference. Front desk were very helpfull.
Need microoven or kettle in the room.
Got stuck in elevators twice for a long time and staff were not atentive
Nothing to like in this normal hotel
I faced a bad situation Early morning one of the staff was knocked the door too many times witout saying anything or he is the staff !! Then he put the receipt in the floor then he gone!!! When i asked the reception in the mornning they said this is from our staff he just bring the receipt!!! Was i bad thing to knocked the door without saying anything
The hotel is walking distance to McCormick place where our medical conference was held. Cabs were available quickly-practically no waiting involved The staff was really courteous and always willing to help.
No convenience store close by-would have liked a Walgreens or CVS pharmacy for quick buys .
