Score from 660 reviews Good
Hotel staff were very friendly and will to help with any needs we had. Place was very close to VanderCook College of music which was our main reason for the trip. Hotel was clean, the free parking lot was next to hotel and very convenient.
Access to restaurant was good and menu seemed very nice. Something for everyone.
The 5 of us intended to eat supper in hotel but the restaurant closed at 6:45pm for a private party. The bar was not to our liking (elbow-high tables for two) so we ordered out from Connie's Pizza for delivery to our room. Next morning, Closed at 8:40am. Another party? so had to eat in the snack lounge. These closures were not made obvious. Even Conserge said, would not need reservations for Friday evening. In fact, had we tried to make them, we might have been told: Closed.
Good location close to McCormick Place. Good connections to downtown with bus no 29 and subway. Great Wi-Fi. Fridge and coffeemaker.
Downtown location without downtown price
added tax and security deposits AFTER listed "total price" made things difficult for my group of college students, still cheapest hotel we could find so I don't see why they need to deceive people
Staff woke up me in mid night asking for payment immediately which I have done in the mid night. They did not find any other better time to do this other than mid night.
Nice location (around 10 minutes to the main atractions - field museum, Adler planetarium, shedd aquarium - by car). Free parking, free WiFi.
Taxes are too high (I paid almost 50 dollars). But I know that it is a standard there.
Near to my conference. Front desk were very helpfull.
Need microoven or kettle in the room.
Got stuck in elevators twice for a long time and staff were not atentive
Nothing to like in this normal hotel
I faced a bad situation Early morning one of the staff was knocked the door too many times witout saying anything or he is the staff !! Then he put the receipt in the floor then he gone!!! When i asked the reception in the mornning they said this is from our staff he just bring the receipt!!! Was i bad thing to knocked the door without saying anything
The hotel is walking distance to McCormick place where our medical conference was held. Cabs were available quickly-practically no waiting involved The staff was really courteous and always willing to help.
No convenience store close by-would have liked a Walgreens or CVS pharmacy for quick buys .
Location Restaurant Environment Cleanliness
I was in Chicago to visit family we was going to say at the Indigo when we get their they did not have the room for us so I book a room at the South loop Hotel and when I tell u the staff is supper nice and the rooms big at the Indigo their was No walking room at all The South Loop Hotel is the very best way to go.
Room is very dirty
Location close to Convention Center
Sort of a scary neighborhood at night so would not recommend walking through there
The room was very large and the shower was good. The internet worked fine as well.
We had a terrible experience with the front desk staff. Once we arrived, I've asked to split the payment within two cards (I was visiting Chicago for business, and received some pre-paid cards for expenses). The front-desk staff first suggested that I didn't want to pay for it, and then refused without any good reason. I would give his name here, but he was not wearing any name tag. Fortunately, a second employee arrived and accepted. Also, the hotel is pretty far from the center(15min bus), and with few attractions nearby.
Location close to the Mccormick Place
Quite noisy at night from the outside.
The Staff were helpful and very courteous. When I stayed I was in between living quarters. So I stayed there approximately three weeks and in that time I never had a negative encounter. Everyone was very courteous and I would recommend this hotel to all my friends and family. All I can say is keep up the good work!!!!!
I have nothing negative to say about this establishment.....
convenience of location in relation to conference venue. easy access to public transportation, taxis Helpful staff. comfortable room
Parking - no cost but one lot was not gated while the other one was. There was 1 1/2 times the space of other hotels. The air conditioner was not loud and the bath was continuously vented without a fan in the bathroom which made it quiet.
Very strong perfume scent in the main floor areas was almost choking. Breakfast was not included in room rate and no microwave in room. For all the extra space in the room they should have put in something to sit on beside the lone desk chair.
Close proximity to McCormick Convention center, Quiet hotel
Secluded from the shopping area and attractions
Large bedrooms and bath, quiet and relatively cheap. There is a bus stop outside. The subway is 15' walk.
There is nothing to do around there.
Thé proximity To downtown Chicago area.
Thé staff were a bit remote.
clean, big room, close to downtown
terrible noise and loud music from night club or restaurant at night
Clean, bright, nice hotel.
Our toilet didn't work even after maintenance came couple of times to fix it. Very inconvenient. We still had to pay full price.
