Score from 405 reviews Excellent
tired and dirty interior small rooms not suitable for a family
location is a definite plus and the history and decor from the past is a feature that had us return to show family on this holiday.
since our last visit the hotel is looking a little rundown and tired, and in need of a good clean up and the rooms, based on ours, need a paint and freshen up. The bathrooms need a proper vanity as there is no bench space. The dark brown paintwork in the passageways is very depressing and looks dull and dirty. hopefully improvements are on the way for this once spectacular hotel. The bar at the pool also needs a goos clean as it smells of stale beer. I have a hotel and would never allow this to happen if it was being run efficiently.
Staff were so helpful and sent up chocolate strawberries to our room as we were celebrating our honeymoon. The room was superb; clean, functional and very well furnished. Excellent location for sight seeing. Best part of the hotel was the restaurant - best burgers I have ever eaten, yummy cocktails, open 24hrs and reasonably priced.
Valet parking was pricey.
Great location. Lovely hotel. Famous people stayed here!!! Staff were friendly and helpful and gave us a lovely room!
Pool area and food / drinking options excellent with fantastic service and good quality food
Rooms although large were a little dated and could do with updating
staff and cleanness
to much money on a 4 star
Location, decor, staff.
Having to pay for wifi and breakfast even after paying for a pool cabana which is not cheap. Have stayed in hotels of similar quality and not had to pay for wifi! I found that quite ridiculous.
The architecture, particularly the main lobby off Hollywood Boulevard, although pity with all the renovations the fountain was empty
Most things, first of all the cost was extortionate, we were by the pool in a Cabana room, bathroom wasn't clean, flush the toilet and it sounds like a jet engine (not must in your room). They have parties by the pool and even on nights when no one is out there they still leave the music on till 12pm - 2am (as is apparent hotel policy). We were tools internet was an additional charge (to our $700 per night room charge) so I didn't bother, only to find the next day there is a free WiFi service at 512k speed, more than adequate for most work emails (and searching for an alternative hotel). I'm not usually one to post a negative review but I can tell you, with approximately 150 hotel nights a year, I'm reasonable well justified to say this is my WORST hotel experience ever
Cost of wifi , dark & dingy , small rooms , to put our party on same floor meant an upgrade of $100 per room , leaky shower , shall we go on !!!!
concierge ALBERT gave us e vary precious advice about UBER taxi service, good value for money; also the pool was very pleasant in the middle of such a crowded city!
Location. Weekdays service was good, food was excellent and staff was pleasant.
The hotel allows non guest to use services and facilities like the pool. Turns into an all day into the wee hours nightclub on the weekend so don't plan on getting any rest. No privacy or place to relax unless you want to hide in your room. The overflow of guests greatly reduced service for beverages, food and general concierge support. Getting something to drink or car service could literally take an hour to get order in. Avoid weekends.
Great location. Special thanks to Millie for all her help and for sending up some champagne and cake when she heard it was my wife's birthday.
Location, being upgraded to a $1500 a night suite on arrival because our room was unavailable, decor, reception staff were very friendly & efficient.
Mandatory valet parking & fee
Location, location, location! Close to metro - 5min train ride to universal studios
A bit pricey for what you get, but you really are just paying to be in the centre of everything.
I like it so much staying here. The location, swimming pool, customer service and almost everything about this hotel was great!!
Location was good for 1-2 days in LA
Put a hold on your credit card for every individual amount rather than just bill you at the end or your stay. Noisy air conditioning
Fun atmosphere Cool bars and restaurants located in the hotel
The rooms seemed kind of dated and drab. The noise from the pool party was loud even though my room was directly over the pool.
Really great being right on Hollywood Blvd. Great "Old Hollywood" feel with furnishings and style. Very comfortable bed. Overall a great experience.
Not real user friendly. Difficult to navigate the amenities available. A little noisy the first night.
The location, the history and the architecture are all perfect.
The Roosevelt is going through an identity crisis. Once the classiest spot in town, they seem now to be focused exclusively on attracting single 20-somethings looking to hook-up at the too-loud pool. It's like a bad Vegas-Strip hotel packaged inside what was once one of the jewels in Los Angeles' crown.
Friendly staff, central location in Hollywood
Sketchy area at night.
close to the sight walkway distance
nosiy of ice machine
The pool area and location was good.
The rooms lacked, they were old, not very clean and didn't even include coffee in the morning.
Front desk girl Jessica's willingness to please. Location and the ambience. Old style classic. Concierge was helpful.
Price of hotel was much more than on line reservation! Original room upon check in was disgusting and smelly. We wanted to check out, but they switched us to renovated room. Then we were very happy. More Expensive than anticipated. Pool action was raunchy.
Location, cleanliness, facilities
Expense, being nickled and dimed on things such as poolside chairs, internet (22 dollars/day), lost room keys (15 dollars) etc.
