staff was excellant, helpful, friendly. fantastic location, being right on the stream relaxing on the adirondack chairs. quiet.
rooms are comfortable and a good size but could use a few simple updates, beds were not the most comfortable, but have had worse.
Value for the money
Old carpets need changing
The room was very dated...
Great location, rustic but with character ,great breakfast, free bikes to explore recreational path running along the river, great relaxing atmosphere, I liked hard beds they were just what I like.
Little dated furnishings, in character of ski chalet but some of them were out of place and out of century. There were only adult size bikes available. My 8 years old son was disappointed bike was to big for him and he realy enjoyed path along river, would even enjoy it more if he could ride it on a bike.
free bikes, good breakfast ,large spacious rooms, friendly staff, very enjoyable!
pool really cold!
The location was reasonably located to other points of interest in Stowe VT. This place is located close to the ski trails and adequate if you are looking for a place to crash for the night after you have spent a day on the slopes. The WiFi connectivity was reliable. The rooms were clean and spacious. You do have access to the Stowe Recreation Path from the hotel but due to the weather during our visit we were unable to walk, jog or bike along the Path.
The website stated the SkiMeister Cafe had a bar that served beer and wine by the glass. I learned during afternoon tea that the hotel let its liquor license lapse and the bar was not operational. The website listed that the TopNotch Resort and other amenities were “next door” to the hotel which was one of the reasons we chose the hotel because we had a wedding to attend at TopNotch. The Innsbruck was located next to part of the TopNotch resort but to travel to the wedding, use the spa services at TopNotch or use any of the other amenities listed as "next door" one had to drive from the Innsbruck. The website listed the Innsbruck had a Spa Room with a hot tub, Swedish sauna, treadmill, stationary bike and rowing machine. There was no rowing machine although there was a poster on the wall which provided instructions on its use. I could not get the stationary bike to operate. The stationary bike and the treadmill shared the same space as the hot tub, offering a steamy chlorine smelling location to conduct your workout. There was a TV provided in the Spa Room but with no remote you could not change channels during your workout. Due to the age of the hotel the walls and ceilings were pretty thin. I could hear every movement of the persons in the room above us. We had left an indication on the door for our room to be serviced. The staff made the bed but did not replace the towels which were on the floor or empty the trash cans in our room.
We were in Stowe for the classic car show and unfamiliar with what the area had to offer. The staff at check-in (Kyle), was very informed and helpful recommending several restaurants for us to try. They provided us with extra towels to use at the pool and jacuzzi. Our room was spacious and clean and the wifi was fast, unlike some free wifi in other hotels we've stayed at. Although the furniture is dated, the beds were very comfortable. We arrived at breakfast a bit later than most because some of the food items were gone and the o.j. Was almost empty --however the kitchen staff promptly replenished the items we wanted and breakfast was great ! We plan to return to Stowe again and we will be staying at the Innsbruck Inn when we do.
The room was huge and also had an outside entrance. We had some problems with the lights in our room but received prompt service after we talked to the desk person. The breakfast was outstanding with many items.
The inn was buried in the mountains which would be great for a few day to week retreat but for overnight would have lighted something more accesible.
The staff, generous breakfast, good space, outdoor activities. Value. Access to other VT locations.
Very few channels on TV and non-working DVD player.
The staff was very friendly. the Inn has a good location as it is less than a minute from the Recreational path that leads into Stowe. Bicycles are free of charge. We liked having coffee making facilities in the room.
The room was quite dark, the carpet stained. The spa facilities were not in use except for the outdoor pool.
Spaciousness of the setting and the easy ability to be outdoors. Liked the full breakfast.
Can hear through the walls.
Large rooms with refrigerator; robes available for use; balcony with outdoor exit
Carpet throughout is sorely I need of replacing. More detail needed with cleaning (thresholds, around beds and baseboards, corners)
The grounds were excellent and it was nice that you could just walk from your room onto the Stowe Recreation Trail. The pool seemed clean even though we didn't use it. The contenential breakfast was good although the eggs could've been better...
This was the first time traveling alone with our 4 month old daughter. We decided to "spluge" and go with the junior suite which had a kitchen. We needed a fridge to refrigerate the milk for our daughter. When we first arrived in the room we were surprised that the room was NOT the same room shown in the picture online and was dirty and dingy. I didn't want my daughter touching anything in the room. The couch was dirty and stained. Same with the bedspreads, bathrobes and carpets. We almost went to the front desk and got our money back. After spending $180 a night you would expect better than this. There wasn't a kitchen like stated on booking.com...it was just a mini fridge, sink, micro & hot plate (kitchenette). I would ditch the nasty dingy bathrobes and go on Craigslist find some newer/cleaner furniture and bedspreads. I was glad we didn't bring anyone with us because I would be embarrassed to have brought them to such a dirty place. This was honestly the worst place I have ever stayed. They need to sink some money into cleaning the rooms better, replacing carpets or get laminate. When walking in the hallway you can feel that the floor sinks in and needs to be replaced. If this place was actually fixed up inside it would almost make it worth paying $180 a night. The location was great but being our first visit to Stowe we weren't impressed. We will definitely be staying somewhere else next time.
proximity to river proximity to bike path pool tennis court and basket ball decent bikes
Only one room key available and staff kept promising to get extra keys but not doing it. Jr suite only one window. bedroom area has no window. somewhat dark in suite. Only 5 bikes available. First come first serve. no way to plan ahead for bike ride for 4 people without grabbing bikes first thing in the morning. No oven in kitchenette freezer door missing No closets Crowded with 4 people's suitcases and couch pulled out for bed
Very comfortable inside and out, relaxing atmosphere, very friendly staff. Pool and sauna clean and enjoyed the use. CLose to everything and particularly liked sitting by the stream in comfortable Adirondack chair having beer and a cigar.
Breakfast eggs, meats should have been hotter.
The Inn is located close to the mountains, rec path, restuarants and the village . The grounds are nicely kept . There is a pool and hot tub, tennis court and volleyball net available . Bikes are free to use - nice since the Stowe Rec Path runs along the property. My favorite part was the made to order breakfast included in the price . The manager was very helpful helping us find an appropriate hiking trail . The room was clean .
Slightly dated furnishings
Good customer service & good facilities for young kids & great location.
Our beds were not clean, & had to be changed and the rooms were quite run down & in need of a makeover.
Extremely helpful staff. The night manager waited for us to arrive even though we arrived a few minutes after closing. The amenities were wonderful - The swimming pool - The hot tub - The bikes and also that the Stowe bike path starts at the Inn was a plus. The breakfast was also really good. Overall, a great place to stay!
Quaint and rustic exterior. Good breakfast. Staff was very helpful. Pretty grounds.
The AC unit was very loud and was blowing directly at the beds (too close). Beds much too hard.
Good value for the money Staff was very friendly The breakfast for Sunday a.m. was fair because of the buffet style near the end and scrambled eggs tasted old. Monday breakfast was better as fewer people there and they took orders and prepared the food individually
Sauna was fine but the hottub took some time to heat up and it still was not at 105 degrees where it should be. Had to get desk clerk to fix the TV which never did work. didn't have tool to raise seat on bike as thumb screw was missing. Couldn't get rowing machine computer to work Suggested to clerk that he have a maintenance guy in to go over all equipment.
The hotel grounds are beautiful which makes for a peaceful, quiet relaxing stay. I stayed in a room on the second floor which had its own set of windows and its own screened door. My stay was booked in early June and it was so nice to be able to open up these windows and doors and take in the fresh air. The property is right beside the Stowe bike path and the hotel has bikes to lend for the day. The staff was very friendly and great to talk to (really nice people). I liked the downstairs breakfast experience near the fire.
Although it was no bother to me, I think elderly travelers or those with a lot of luggage should be forewarned that the hotel does not have an elevator so be prepared to lug your suitcases. If staff is around, they are quick to help you with this task. The hotel rooms decor is definitely dated but if you can get past that you will have a lovely stay at the Innsbruck Inn. I would definitely go back again if I get the chance.
