Ne w York is always very exiting , but I wish there was more shopping in the city offered. There re to many tourist shops with the same souvenirs in it - one after the other. Years ago there were more independent retailers with clothes and other household items in the stores on 6th avenue and 34th street. Now hardly none . So many places to eat. We have visited NY before but never more that a day. We were on our way back from a vacation in Europe and decided to spend a few days in NYC. We walked everywhere including down to Battery Park from our mid-town hotel (Carnegie) and never once felt threatened or unsafe. We took the 4 or 5 (?) subway express back from 911 Memorial and only at one stop was my "radar" up albeit briefly. No issues- totally counter to the dominant perception of NYC and safety. We ate dinner at Carmine's and Patsy's. Carmine's, you were good...but...sorry ...Patsy's was little better. Try both- but if you have to choose one- go to Patsy's. We checked all the boxes we wanted out of this visit to NYC- Central Park, St Patrick's, Fraunce's Tavern, 911 Memorial et al but I know there's so much more there- we will return some day.Guest review byDavidUnited States - 10.0

It’s good and lively city. Month of Aug is too crowded with travelers all hotels super expensive and weather on the warmer side. So better to avoid august. Upper manhattan is beautiful. My 4th time in NYC, and every time it steals my heart. We went to Broadway theater, and it was truly amazing. We also had picnic at central park, and visited a bunch of city landmarks. It is pricy, but I highly recommend to come here at least once a year if you can.Guest review byAnnaUkraine

We walked to the MET through Central Park and used the nearby subway station to access the 1 and 2 lines that go through the theatre district and all way down to the bottom of Manhattan.
