The only negative is that when we checked out the hotel was not able to provide us with a final bill. The clerk said because we booked with you. That was not true, I paid them with my credit card not Booking.com
The location of the hotel.
Security came pounding on my door at 10:30 pm like there was a huge emergency. My husband and I were sleeping and forgot to turn of the music on our cell phones which was an issue. But the security startled us and knocked like he was the police. The check in time was also an issue 4pm and the room was not available until almost 4:30 pm.
Location, cleanliness, room size
Lobby staff need some training
Easy walk to many attractions. Park at local garages, not the hotel, and save money.
Everything was excellent
Ease of getting to the trolley for the ride to the game. After game eats and walking around the Gaslamp District.
I expected a king bed. It was only a double or maybe a queen, but it was comfortable.
Customer service was nice and helpful, while the room was clean and had more than expected. The stay was seamless and enjoyable. Location of hotel is also great proximity downtown.
Nothing I can remember right now.
Spent 4 nights/ 6 days with my daughter and 9 yr old granddaughter. We arrived early (We had informed of the early arrival) and the roomy studio was ready. We could immediately start exploring the area. Big smiles of the staff. The happy hours at the bar; we could refresh after a day long walking before an evening out. Inclusive breakfast with many small children creating happy, comfortable atmosphere.) Very convenient to public transportation, short inexpensive taxi rides to many attractions (important for a 74 year old with knee problem.) Had to rent a car only one day. Also, only Mariott with a pool in the area (out of three).
The room cleaning was not very good; the linens some days plenty, some days short (wash cloth and Han towels missing.) the floor was not vacuumed well, with all corners dusty. Some wall coverings and tile corners were worn out badly. Lightings were not individually controlled, particularly the entry and the wash basin area, making the bed area very bright as well.
Bed was very uncomfortable. Pillows were way too soft. Very thin blanket. Pictures had dirt marks on them. No hot tub! Parking was $40 per night.
Great breakfast and great location to shops and restaurants. Clean room.
We had a corner suite so in the evening, we could here the music and partying from the streets every night!!. Pull out bed was not comfortable. Also there was construction early in the morning(6 am!!) Really disappointed!!
If you wish to concentrate your visit in San Diego in the Gaslamp District, this is certainly the hotel to choose. Close walking distance to shopping, restaurants, and other activities. The breakfast was a step above standard hotel fare.
Convenient location near shops and restaurants in Gaslamp Quarter, within 10 min walk of Gaslamp Trolley stop and convention center. Clean and comfortable.
I liked the location.
The parking was too expensive and the studio too small for the cost
Booked over 1 month in advance, confirmed 2 weeks in advance and then showed up not to be able to get room promised in reservation both on line and after talking on phone with hotel.
Location. Separate bedroom.
Price of parking
Bigger than most hotel rooms. Feels more like a base if you're there for a while. More space to work if you need to.
They mention Wifi is free and it is and it does work. But it is hard limited to 1Mbps. You have to pay an extra $5 a day for the limit to be removed. I can understand this dichotomy, but it certainly wasn't advertised.
I liked its location. I was able to do some exercise on 100 steps at convention center near the harbor. Breakfast was good and convenient.
I was there around Halloween day. It was extremely noisy until 3am.
We arrived after having our car broken into and valuables and wallet stolen. We decided to continue with our anniversary and arrived at the hotel. The staff was understanding and welcoming.
free wi-fi location staff working in reception breakfast
Cleaning staff did not know english. cupboard shelfs were not clean have to use card in elevator
Big room Kitchen Staff was very friendly
Wifi connection did not work very well (slow, disconnected quite often) We slept with 3 people in the room, the 3rd bed was awful Breakfast was not very good. Please get rid of disposable plates and cutlery, very bad for environment and looks awful
Although I had a reservation, I was bumped for one night, taken to another hotel, then returned the next night. They comped the first night and upgraded me to a suite for the second night, but the room was just a big version of a bad room. Whole experience was stressful and bad. No room service for a single person who needs to work during meal - had to go out and eat alone at a restaurant. WiFi didn't work either. Room we rented for a business mtg. and the refreshments were of poor quality as well.
The parking was way to expensive
