The rooms were really clean! The cleaning staff was so friendly and helpful.

Very noisy at night; could hear all noise in hallway and other rooms; parking was very expensive!! The hotel didn't offer any discount and/or vouchers.

Exellent location, cosy rooms and lobby, good breakfast

Breakfast until 9am is unhuman. Maids only make beds and change towels (on day one they arranged my clothes, removed iron and board, but not on the following days).

Location is very convenient - everything in the downtown is close by. Our main interest was the convention centre, it was 5 minutes walk from the hotel. Room is clean, a kitchenette is a plus. Bathroom is good. Breakfast could have been more diverse, however, it was quite ok.

The rooms could have been more new, but overall quite fine. A little squeaky and rigid mattress of sofa bed. Sliding doors between living room and bedroom and between bedroom and bathroom were questionable, especially the latter, not very convenient.

Everything was perfect. However, I would just have preferred a greener approah to breakfast utensils (there were plastic and disposable dishes every morning).

    Very expensive.

the facility is well maintained for an older property.

It is an older property and could use some remodeling. I requested a king bed and got a queen. Bed was old, lumpy and uncomfortable.

Staff was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the area and events. All pointers turned out to be "right-on." Location was perfect for hanging out in the Gaslamp and attending a MLB game. Room was very comfortable and having a refridgerator and kitchen was really nice for a several day stay.

    Nothing bad to say.

My husband and I chose this property because of it's location and we were not disappointed in the least. Petco field is just around the corner, and there were plenty of places to shop and dine. But best of all, it is a beautiful facility with excellent staff and beautiful rooms. The free breakfast was great too. I will definitely stay here again.

It's a Residence Inn by Marriott - so you get the what the brand offers. Staff on the front desk were helpful and polite - even remembered my name. Breakfast in the rate was pretty reasonable for the class of hotel. Slight variations each day in the hot choices. Self-sevice buffet.

    - cost to park - breakfast selection and quality was fair - room layout and lack of comfortable seating - glass doors between bathroom & bedroom

When I booked my reservation, I made a request for an additional bed. Much to my surprise, NOTHING was done about this request for almost two months. In finding out that the rooms were too small and that I would have to upgrade to a more expensive room, I CANCELLED MY RESERVATION and made alternative plans myself.

Room was spacious, clean and the kitchenette was more useful than I imagined.

The fitness centre was a little underwhelming, but I only used it on one rainy day.

The staff were friendly and helpful, the location was central, the breakfast offerings were varied and the rooms were well equipt for families and food preparation.

Sadly, the pool was out of service for the first two days of our visit; one of the primary reasons for our booking at this location was to satisfy our son's desire for an outdoor pool. The rooms could use a drying rack in the washroom for wet swim suits and a broom and dustpan for tidy up.

All staff were accommodating. Location was very nice walking distance to eateries, waterfront, petco park, and light rail system. Breakfast was very good and filled us all day.Even the small pool was enjoyable. Room was comfortable and modern and nicely sectioned off between, entrance, kitchen, bathroom, and living/dining room. Tv pivots for all angles. Kitchen with dishwasher, garbage disposal, and large fridge, was well equipped with supplies

The $38 hotel parking fee. There were other places to park nearby but the rates at those parking lots charged different day and night fees. Some street parking but had to get up very early to move car. So charging $38 at hotel for parking a big turn off but if only $20 per night, I believe many more guests would swallow that therefore Marriott would pocket that too. Room key to go up to room in elevator didn't seem to make much sense and seemed to only annoy most guests. House keeping slow but was able to get additional supplies when necessary. Towels at pool plentiful but small.

I was particularly impressed with the way I was greeted when I arrived. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. The kitchen was well equipped but some dish soap (besides dishwasher soap) would have been nice. They actually grocery shopped for me one day! There was always water in the frig and all of the staff were friendly and helpful. I told everyone I talked to at my conference and then included a reference in an on-line chat about the hotel. It was about 1/2 of the cost of the conference hotel which did not include a kitchen, sitting area, or breakfast!

There were a few things that could have been better, but mostly minor things. When I gave the front desk my shopping list the first thing on it was wine, and she read it to be sure she could read my writing, but she didn't tell me that hotel policy wouldn't allow them to buy it for me, I didn't find out until I was already in for the night and saw the note on my table. Also, the bath room was missing a shower cap and there was no hand lotion (I said it was minor but no hand lotion was a problem since I expected it and didn't bring any). The breakfast was great but having a menu in your room would have been helpful since the first two mornings included sandwiches so when the third morning didn't include anything really portable I ended up not really getting breakfast since I had to get to my conference. Finally, the bathroom sink in my room backed up the last morning and was still backed up when I came back to check out so I had to use the kitchen sink for things like brushing my teeth--thankfully it was my last day and there was a kitchen sink!!!
