Location was perfect for us. Only a few blocks from the ferry and bus so we didn't have to walk far with our luggage (carry-on suitcases and daypacks). It easy walking distance to the old/historic part of town. The host was helpful and very friendly (much conducted with "sign" language since our Spanish is rather lacking). All electronic communication with Rivera was handled excellently (including a mistake I made on the dates). Much appreciated. It was very quiet at night.

A charming and lively town that was originally founded by Portuguese settlers. We visited in late march 2024. There were hordes of mosquitoes everywhere so it was very annoying. Apart from that it was a short pleasant visit.

Colonia is oversold as a place to spend time and chill out.
Colonia is oversold as a place to spend time and chill out. One day is enough to see the main sights. Uruguay is expensive and Colonia, for all its charm, feels like a tourist trap. Twice, we ate at establishments that had boldly signed food specials that somehow didn’t apply to us, even after checking with the server.

For me, Colonia is a one-night stay, or two nights maximum, if you are staying in a nice hotel with amenities or if you are planning on visiting a winery or taking a day trip from Colonia. The historical center is the only thing worth visiting, and you can probably walk it all in a day. It is VERY picturesque, the ultimate instagrammable old town, and has many good restaurants.

Beautiful outdoor pool in atractive and well-cared for garden. Very Very Very good outdoor pool in beautiful and well cared-for garden. Very good indoor pool.
Staff were helpful and ready to offer solutiions if needed. Friendly ambiance.
Rooms in the tower are spacious and confortable. Good sized bathroom, although being elderly we missed security bars in the bathtub.
Nice breakfast especially for sweet tooths. Food was very good at the restaurant but not cheap. It was disappointing the lack of flexibilitty to have food and refreshmente at tea time and no availabilitt of the nice pastries at mid afternoon.
Very relaxing and lovely place for a longer stay.

Perfect place to stay while visiting Colonia del Sacramento! The room was big enough for the two of us, full of lovely details that showed a wonderful taste for decoration, making you feel at home. The breakfast was wonderful, too, with various pastries, bread, etc. There are many places to sit and read, and enjoy being there. The staff was super friendly and helpful. There are parking spaces in front of the hotel. This posada is in the heart of the old city, just two blocks away from the historical sites. Highly recommended!
Location and staff were great - we enjoyed our stay, and they were super kind and helpful. but don’t agree with the rating and category from the hotel. 3* would be more fair - as a person who constantly travels and usually stays in Radisson around Europe, and being that the reason why I picked this hotel to bring my family, I was disappointed. I was expecting fantastic local cuisine and facilities- and we were far from
That.
The indoor pool was the main reason for booking and we enjoyed it very much. Breakfast was very good, plenty of choices. Dinner options were goos as well. The play room was a bonus. We played some ping pong. Our room was nice, clean, and spacious. A little noisy at night being so close to the rambla, but with the AC on it was better. And the view was magnificent. Watching the sunset is a must!
Nice quiet location that allows you to walk into the town and through the park at the side of the river. Secure parking. Swimming pool. Very comfortable bed and a nice breakfast. Dinner in the open plan restaurant with a reception area with an open fire. Bonus of a family of Toros (national bird of Uruguay) poking around the lawn in the morning for a bit of bird watching!
It’s such an unique place, everybody should have this experience!Mauro and his wife are excellent hosts!spoke English and were very accommodating.Room doesn’t have tv and WiFi,but you need to relax in this place 🙂a bit off road, but if you drive it’s not a problem.Lunches and dinners are served at the hotel on weekends(out of season-we were in winter).
This is an excellent space and it has been a real pleasure staying here. I enjoyed everything about it to be honest. The kitchen was well equipped, there is a great autoservicio carniceria two blocks away, its clean, close to the beach and for Uruguay the price is very good. Safe neighborhood and wonderful customer service from Andrea.
We loved the overall service and especially the free bikes :) we were able to leave our luggage after checking out and still use the bikes during the day, which was awesome :) also the location is perfect and the hotel itself beautiful! We would definitely come again :)
The hotel was comfortable. I liked all the places to sit inside and outside. Had a very relaxing day by the pool. The staff were lovely and were very approachable. Good location near oldtown. Good amenities nearby
.
Good value and location. Staff were nice and the place was kept really clean. The hostel itself has a really chill vibe and it is cool to hang out in the common areas. Very safe also. Good price for Uruguay.
Room: a little bit old design. But the beds are good and confortables.
Location: AMAZING, in the centre of Colonia del Sacramento
Breakfast: good and enough. Really nice .
Quant hotel in the oldest part of town with well maintained facilities. Breakfast was great with better views of the river. Court yard is old fashion but feel homey.
Closer to the ferry terminal and historic center. There are plenty cafes and restaurants near by. We check out very early so wasn't able to partake hotel breakfast.
