Great location, great Hotel and friendly staff.
The Orator was very comfortable and clean. EXTENSIVE MENU ALL DAY, but not all dishes available, still a large variety to choose from. Staff friendly and helpful. A very pleasant experience and would recommend it all.
I would advise anyone to get a taxi to the airport instead of the shuttle......it was 45mins. late and we had a hair raising ride, quite scary at times.
We wanted the pool so were not too concerned about it being away from the sea. we state 6 nights in a poolside villa and almost had the pool to ourselves for the entire time so very good as the pool was only a few metres from the room. We spent the last night in Samoa at the standard room and that was very good but would recommend the Poolside Villa as first choice
the food could have been better but given you are only a $14 tala taxi ride way from Apia you had other options if you wanted
The pool was amazing. Beds were comfortable however a queen size bed would be more suitable the a double bed. Breakfast consisted of a varied selection.
Change was not readily available when purchasing dinner or drinks at the bar, it seems expected by the staff that the costs would be charged to the room. Early check in option was only available at a cost of an extra days rate to secure the room. Found this to be very unaccommodating especially when our flight arrived at 6am and check in was not until 12:00pm and the hotel was to be our first stop. We could not do anything for 6 hours as we had all our luggage with us. The rate could have been waived considering we were to check out at 4am, losing a days worth of accommodation which had to be paid for.
The Staff were very friendly. They make you feel at home from arrival till departure. I did not find anything negative about the Orator Hotel during my stay. Well done. I recommend Orator to any of my Family & Friends that travel to Samoa. I will stay at Orator Hotel on my next visit to Samoa. Cheers!!!
Volcanic rock floor in bathrooms
The staff were very friendly - especially Lita who checked us in just before midnight. She made sure we were well looked after. I would definitely come back here to stay.
Loved everything about this place. I've never felt so relaxed, love the pool area and the Staff were just amazing. I would so recommend the Orator if you just want to kick back. Thank you
The staff were very helpful & friendly. I would recommend The Orator to all my friends & family
I loved the fact that we were welcomed with a traditional Polynesian blowing of the conch shell & the drums... even though we didn't arrive until midnight. We both thought that was pretty impressive. We also loved the breakfast. The staff were most helpful and attentive to us. The cascading pools are pretty amazing as well. All in all...... I'd say pretty close to perfection.
Possibly, because we were first time visitors to Samoa, there could have been better signage to help us find the Hotel in the middle of the night.
Internet vouchers were only valid for 1 hour at a time and were sold out quickly.
Peaceful! Perfect for families or noisy friends. They have 3 pools that cater for all ages. Staff were friendly and even sang as we sat and waited for our ride after check out and the free shuttle to and from town is a bonus!
The duty manager made our check out more difficult then it really needed to be(never dealt with her our entire stay till check out) asked staff a few times for bar menus and they never came back lol more koko rice wouldve been great for breakfast:)
Such friendly staff who treat everyone the same.. I felt very comfortable and well looked after.. Thank you for making my stay great..
Hmmm.. Can't think of anything negative sorry
The staff were so attentive and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble for them and went out of their way to treat us like valued guests
The maimed dogs allowed to roam around the property
This place is AMAZING! The staff were AWESOME, best hospitality I have experienced anywhere in the world. It was picture perfect. I will definitely be back =)
I liked the location of the hotel. It's quiet and everything was nice. The staff members were really friendly. The rooms are nice.
The only thing that I did not like was the air condition. I don't know about other rooms but the one that my friends and I stayed in was really hot. It's cooler at night but really hot in the afternoon. But everything else was nice (the staff, the service and everything except the ac).
Hasslefree & Comfortable accommodation with friendly staff
handy location to the venue where our event happened.
We stayed here for only two nights, the room was nice and clean and had aircon. We really loved the pool as it was really nice especially after a hot day out at the markets.
We would have to say that the receptionist and Housekeeping staff have really let this hotel down... When we arrived for check in the receptionist was rude and not that interested or shall I say disengaged. She checked us in and we asked her to book us in for an extra night. She came up with excuses as to why she couldn't book us in but would check it out and let us know. Recpetionist then called out to the other guy to come take our bags and show us to our room. The guy came took us to the beginning of the corridor and pointed down to the end where we were going to be staying and left our bags for us to carry. We get to our room and We are. expecting a nice big fruit platter which on our booking says it's complimentary, and there's nothing at all. The next morning we ask the receptionist if she was able to extend our booking and she looked shocked because she didn't actually look into it at this stage. She tried to say that only the pool villa was available but then after telling her that we would be leaving at 4am the next day she made a quick call to the owner/manager who said it was fine for us to stay in the same room. We went out for the day and came back to our room which had not been cleaned. No fresh towels bed etc not made! Now on the brochure it says "rooms serviced daily". This was disappointing and yet another let down. We stayed at hotel Millenia on this trip as well and if I had to compare the two then hotel millenia would be our pick.
I stayed here for 5 days and I loved it. The staff at Orator are amazing compared to the staff at another Hotel we stayed at. One staff in particular, Ronnie. Such a friendly guy and he made our stay more enjoyable. Everywhere we saw him he would have the biggest smile on his face. The rooms were nice and big and I love shower :) breakfast was delicious compared to breakfast at the other hotel we stayed at. We could go for secods, thirds but at the other hotel we had to pay $10 if we wanted extra scrambled eggs and toast. I would definitely stay at Orator Hotel again and would recommend it to family and friends.
Poolside villa was great. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Housekeeping was excellent. Nice and quiet and the elevated position makes it a bit cooler than in town. We will be back.
The gardens and the pool area were beautiful. The reception area was also lovely. Very boutique like. A hidden gem if you like. I also appreciated staying in a poolside villa due to the outlook. In addition it was very quiet. Very, very good value for money and would definitely stay here again.
The housemaids were intrusive.
The Orator is great for families, couples and wedding parties etc. They also know how to be helpful to business travelers as well. By offering a business package that includes, all meals, laundry services, etc. Now if you are looking for comparable accommodations to lets say Hawaii, Samoa is not quite there yet, however if a personal touch with real people is appealing to you then you will love Samoa and especially the Orator Resort. The owners are on site and hands on with their customers.
Housekeeping staff... Well one in particular, the brochure states you will get 4 bottles of water per day. The hot and humid climate requires that you drink water. Unfortunately, bottled water is expensive, so the Orator is offering a large savings to its clients. However this one housekeeper doesn't understand the concept of 4 bottles per day, everyday...
