This was my second stay at Ukuthula and could not have been happier with everything once again! Fabian communicated with me immediately upon making my booking and ensured a smooth and easy check in. Our stay at Moya was amazing. The location is so so beautiful, and the perfect place to relax before or after your safari. Rudo, Gary, and their amazing colleagues took such good care of us and arranged a ton of activities, even at very short notice. Delicious breakfast, warm welcome, true luxury!

We stayed at this lodge for 5 days in October and it was truly the best experience. The lodge itself is very modern, beautifully decorated and the outdoor shower is such a welcome addition. Annie was amazing - she helped co-ordinate and book all of the activities we did and helped us navigate and change/update our plans as a result of weather. Annie gave us great recommendations and answered all of our questions. The food was a real highlight of the trip - from the fresh fruit starter at breakfast to the three course meal in the evening. We cannot recommend this place enough - the staff went above and beyond to make our stay in South Africa amazing and we really appreciated it.

I was a little disappointed about the communication. No one notified us that there was no power the first day of our stay. Our friends that arrived before us had to text us and keep us updated, till I reached out to the lodge myself.
Our friends that we shared the villa with had to drive into town to charge their mobile phones.
We only arrive the day after the power to the lodge was finally restored.
The lodge is beautiful but our villa could use some needed maintenance, some baseboard tiles need repair. We could not use some lamps because there were no outlets or no converter plugs for the outlets. The housekeeper said the previous guests had stolen them. I had a lamp on my nightstand that was useless since there was no outlet for it.
In the 3rd bedroom was no Aircon or even a fan.
At our first breakfast we received a basket with toast and the toast was covered in maggots and other bugs.
Give yourself plenty of time since it takes about 30min after placing an order since there is only 1 cook.
Otherwise the English breakfast was delicious and the staff were very friendly.
It would be nice if the lodge would have blankets for guests that find the thick duvet cover too hot for sleeping.
The Aircon’s in the 2 main bedrooms worked great and the WiFi was strong and very reliable.
The morning we drove to Kruger Park the cook was kind enough provided us with a warm breakfast and hot coffee at 5am. We really appreciated that.
The Boma is a great touch and we enjoy an amazing braii by a fire two of the nights. The groundskeeper keeps the property very clean and presentable. The private wildlife estate was a little disappointing since the only animals we saw were warthogs, nyala’s and impalas. We drove around several times, but that was all we saw.
I personally would not stay or invite friends to this wildlife estate again.

Hoedspruit has a good selection of supermarkets for the self catering traveller. There are a number of great coffee shops and restaurants in the town and a variety of activities offered for day trips by adventure or safari companies. Some quirky curio / gift stores with a variety of goods on offer and some fabulous day spa options. Most travellers are self drive or have private transport booked but there was a local taxi service advertised on a notice board at the Kamogelo Tourism Centre if you get stuck.

Hoedspruit is the best town in Greater Kruger.
Hoedspruit is the best town in Greater Kruger. Reasonably priced direct flights from Capetown or Johannesburg. Rental cars at airport. Grocery stores, restaurants and a variety of great places to stay.
This is where to start and stock up if you are self driving Kruger. 45 minutes to the Orpen gate and another 45 to Letaba rest camp. Expect to see elephant on the way.

Relatively close to the Kruger Park (animals) and the Drakensberg mountain range (natural sites).
The local supermarkets (SPAR and PnP) provide all needs for self catering stays.
A range of accommodation and eating places.
Parkrun.
A waring to be patient of the access roads, if driving in. Tri-axle bulk transporters seem to use every conceivable road, many of which are hilly and not endowed with many safe and legal overtaking opportunities.

The staff are very welcoming and they gave us the best service. The breakfast was to die for. If you want to unwind and let nature speak to you, don't hesitate, book your stay now. I love the privacy and the smell of different trees that sorrounds the Lodge. It was a good experience.
The rooms were very tidy and clean. Well decorated and loved the addition of the AC to beat the cold with.
Overall great experience and definitely wouldn't hesitate to book another stay here!
The owners were so friendly in assisting us even though we only arrived well after 7 at night.
They even sent messages to make sure we didn't get lost and shared everything that we needed.
I'm usually very picky of hotels and guest houses but this is definitely a must! Close to restaurants and shops so it was very convenient.
Louis was an amazing host! he treat us very kindly and help us with anything we needed. He was very open with timetables and ready to help us at any time, also prepared breakfast for us in the hotel or to take away to our safari.
The rooms were super cozy and very clean. Views were amazing but you don’t need to look to far as we had zebras walking in front of our room and giraffes drinking from the swimming pool. Completely recommend it!
Perfect hotel to start your trip to the Kruger. From the arrival (special thanks to the manager Constance) to the excellent food from chef Jeanet served by the very attentive servers Meriam and Betheul to the really absolutely perfect cleanliness in the rooms (thank you, Tryphina!) it was a wonderful stay! Compared to the other hotels in and around the Kruger, I must really emphasize the cleanliness and style of the hotel. 10/10!
The unit was neat and tidy and really nicely furnished and decorated. The beds were really comfortable and we were so grateful for the extra blankets for the unusually cold weather .We all loved the outside shower and enjoyed the beautiful big bath. The visits by various game was so enjoyable. Great proximity to town, so super convenient. Great value for money!
I booked the property for my wife to stay over for a couple of days. The property was rated highly and reviews were great. She needed a place that was comfortable, in short proximity to Hoedspruit and safe for her to stay alone. Ujabule was the perfect place. Staff were friendly and breakfast was great. Thanks guys
The quietness and the serenity of the bushveld. We enjoy the pool on a hot summer day. The unit was fitted with all the utensils to self catering . We had 4 fans which was very handy. The bedrooms windows are fitted with mosquito net . Everything was exactly as advertised in the website.
One word: stunning! We kind of accidentally got there after the hotel we booked wasn't able to accommodate us. But waauw, what a beauty this is. Great views combined with an exceptionally friendly staff and food to die for. Definitely our favorite destination for a next trip.
Everything about the hotel was great. Location, the facilities and above all the Team! From the moment we dropped our car at the entrance gate to the very end. Everyone was helpful and lovely. Food was great and our game driver was the best!
Situated in the Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate made it seem like we were really 'away' from things although it was so conveniently close to town. The room was perfect and we will definitely book there again when we travel to Hoedspruit.
Well appointed self catering accommodation. Close to a local supermarket, restaurants and cafe for dinner and breakfast.
Well appointed amenities and air conditioning in the bedroom. Loved the outdoor shower.
The welcome of Sander and Juliette
The African decoration of the room
The swimming pool
The animals roaming around
Nice breakfast
The visit of the close-by Hoedspruit Endangered Species Center.
The quietness and the peaceful nature of the environment was so refreshing. the place provided a unique sense of peace. A great get away from the usual town busy schedules.
