There was no shelf in the bathroom - this would be helpful to store toiletries. The room, although very good, was slightly cramped.

The leisure facilities were excellent. The restaurant very good. The room was very good.

The room was not of 4 star standard, cracked bathroom sink, unstable bath to stand in when showering. Room had rubbish from the previous occupant. No fridge! The bed was not comfortable and the decor was not of a high standard.

Location was ok, reception and bar areas were nice.

Clean both rooms and buildings. Rooms comfortable. Breakfast was OK. Staff were brilliant. I enjoyed my stay.

The twin room we were allocated was so small we had to plan who was moving where next in room. Our suitcase was constantly moved to let us get around! The bathroom was minute too. The room needed refurbishing. A first for us as we'd always been satisfied with our room on every occasion. One thing that really bugs me! You leave info about where to put towels you want to changing so that other, unused ones were not unnecessarily laundered. Excellent. It never happened. All towels in room were changed every day. What a waste of money, our planets resources, and effort to get it right. Breakfast was not as good as usual

Been staying at the mill since it first opened. Location is great for the city and the staff are consistently friendly and professional.

Beds were uncomfortable and the extractor fan was broken in the room. Also it wasn’t made obvious it was £9 a day parking. Not to mention the padlock to keep your car safe was broken and smashed bottled glass on the entrance. Which when you pay the amount you had to it would be nice not to worry about puncturing your tyres.

The spa was good and a good location.

    Nothing to criticise

The hotel, which is in easy reach of the railway station, is also within easy walking distance of all the main places of interest in the old city. The location of the hotel by a canal is lovely. All the staff with whom we came into contact were very pleasant, cheerful and helpful. The rooms were of a good size, and the beds were big and comfortable.

Tiny bathroom with weak shower over a bath, difficult to get in and out. Hard pillows. No bar meals in evening only main restaurant with poor vegetarian options. Cramped car park.

Warm welcome. Attractive hotel close to city centre. Good breakfast with good service.

An enjoyable and restful stay overlooking the Shropshire Union Canal
    • Leisure trip

    • Canal Side Deluxe Room
    • Stayed 2 nights

Breakfast was adequate but not special. For the hot food there was scrambled egg (watery) fried egg, bacon (covered in that unpleasant white stuff) hash browns, beans and tomatoes but no mushrooms and no black pudding. I have had worse but also much better. There was a good selection of cereals and fruit juice as well as croissants and toast.

Room excellent, spacious and comfortable. Lots of room in the bathroom too.
