Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The tug was way to narrow and a safety issue.

The rooms are very small with little room for luggage.

The room decor is very bland - our room faced an interior light well so it was a bit generic.
my wife and I stayed at Central Hotel at the end of March. the location is good - plenty to explore in the area but on a relatively quiet street; we easily walked to the Acropolis. The staff are nice and helpful. The room was not large but worked for us; it was very clean, quiet, and well laid out - and the wifi worked well. The bathroom is clean and functional. Breakfast was good with pre-set buffet style with different options of eggs, meats, cereals, yogurt, breads, etc. and the dining area is nice with plenty of natural light. The standout is the rooftop restaurant / bar with good food, a friendly atmosphere, and stunning view of the Acropolis.

It is a hotel you want to come back to. Near to everything, Plateia Sintagma, Odos Ermou and so on. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I higly recommend Central Hotel.

The location of the hotel was ideal for walks around Athens. The hotel itself was spotlessly clean and the staff could not be more helpful and friendly. We would definitely return

The bathroom door is almost transparent, which did not fit for me and my best friend (we are not a couple...). Also, shower is too small and curtain disturbs while showering. Refrigerator made unpleasant noise, and at night, we had trouble sleeping because of it. Also, we came really early and wish we can get the room sooner but had to wait for hours till check in hours. I know this is part of the policy but in other hotels they made an effort and gave us room faster.
The breakfast is good, different fresh thing every day. The location is extremely good - near every point of interest!

Great location and view of the Acropolis from the roof top bar and also our room was amazing. All the staff were so helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Great breakfast! Big shout out to the roof top bar and restaurant staff, food was excellent and service was amazing! We would recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Athens.

The hotel staff were not able to help us find laundry services. We asked some locals, and they directed to a laundromat just two blocks away.
The breakfast was among the best we had while staying in Greece. The location was perfect, the rooms were clean, and we also had a phenomenal view of the acropolis and surrounding sites and mountains.

This hotel was very centrally located on a quiet street. Very walkable area with lots of shops and restaurants. They arranged for a taxi to pick us up at the airport upon our arrival which was much appreciated. We had 2 connecting rooms - one with a beautiful view of the Acropolis for me and my husband and one with a view of a wall for our sons. It was nice to have the connecting rooms so we could keep the doors open and have it feel much more spacious. The breakfast had lots of variety with both American and Greek foods. Do not miss having drinks up on the rooftop bar - the view is stunning! Everything was very clean and well maintained and the staff was just lovely.
