Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IrelandThe only downside I experienced was during night times when the restaurant was open, as parking could be a bit difficult to find, but there's a valet to help.
The hotel overall is good. The hotel is nicely located with a gorgeous view of the lake, has been refurbished and offers good value for money. However, there were some minor issues in the apartment that may not be suitable for someone with high expectations. The highlight is the amazing location of the hotel. Despite the small hiccups, I had a wonderful time in the hotel and would recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable/price to stay in Sirmione.

United KingdomIt was a 20minutes walk into the centre of Sirmione, the option of a shuttle bus would maybe be a good idea for guests as this walk becomes a little tiresome when doing it multiple times a day
It was in a good location and the room we had was on the ground floor so we had a beautiful view over the lake

Good location, in the middle of old town and new town center, but old furniture and interior, some parts are really worn down and not working properly. Very loud street and hallway

United KingdomThe heating was noisy. Turned our radiator down in the day which worked but someone else’s heater made a terrible noise in the middle of the night which kept us awake for a while. we stayed in the off peak season, so understand it was quiet but when we had issues with room key there was no one on the desk and we had to wait. you can leave your luggage but it’s not secure, especially when reception is left unmanned.
Good location. brilliant lake view from balcony in room. Good breakfast with a great choice of foods.

United KingdomPillows were not great. We had to move room as originally we were above the kitchen from the restaurant which was noisy but the staff helped us with no issues.
View from the hotel was amazing! Good location, 10 min walk to Sirmione old town. We had a balcony room overlooking the road which was nice to watch the world go by. Hotel owners 40th birthday to place during our stay which all guests were invited too which was lovely

United KingdomOur baloney was only just a little higher than the road level and was facing such a busy road and therefore we lacked privacy on the balcony. The room is not a bad size but not very big either. The one thing that I would definitely say that needs changing is the shower as it is so small yet the shower head is massive so having a shower without wishing to wash hair is practically impossible.
The location was amazing, having breakfast each morning beside the lake was such a great start to our day. The location is really good, only around a 15/20 minute walk to the main part, we got the bus back one day which is a good option for people who wouldn’t want to walk each day.

RomaniaThe bed and pillow were exceedingly hard. The AC condensation was dripping in the shower area and locally stained the ceiling.
The perfect location is doubled by a very good amenity structure and aesthetic architecture that ones comes to expect in such an Italian beautiful location. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the cleanliness was faultless. The lake shore and bathing access is on the hotel grounds.

Excellent hotel set in a lovely location with beautiful views straight out into lake. The room was really nice , recently refurbished and very clean and comfortable. MexicoThe room smelled like cigarette and like to an old essence. The pillows were so small we could not sleep that well. The parking lot was chaotic, since it has place for 6 cars and like 12 were there.
The restaurant is a great option to have dinner there, the view, quality and flavour of the food was so good. The location was good, within 10 mins you get to the castle. The view of the room was so good

United KingdomRoom was small for a deluxe booking, bathroom very small. Room faced hotel front next to main road, very noisy with pedestrian and motor traffic constantly. Room was very dark due to dark furniture and decor. One pillow/very flat and uncomfortable.
Location excellent, easy walking to Centro Storico and lakeside position. Continental breakfast good, lots of options. Well maintained gardens overlooking lake, sun beds available. Parking available although limited (staff move cars around).

United KingdomThe room was modern, clean and well serviced, but aesthetically uninspiring. A high vaulted ceiling, dark brown cross beams, dark brown bedhead/surround and drawer unit, bright orange wardrobe, together with a wall of full length heavy curtains, nets, and an industrial wire ceiling spotlight, gave a rather stark appearance. The bedside lights were no good for reading, as they were integral to the bedhead surround (inset like car headlights). So they led the way to the ensuite, but were blinding on the walk back to the bed! Whilst there was bottled water in the mini bar, there were no tea/coffee making facilities. It would have been preferable not to have to get ready and visit the restaurant for that first hot drink of the day, as it curbed the enjoyment of the stay. All that said, it's just a personal preference on creature comforts and one size doesn't fit all. The convenient location, in-house restaurant and cleanliness contributed to a lovely experience of Lake Garda, which is stunning in any direction!!
Chose Hotel Aurora for its location on the lake and proximity to historic Sirmione with water tours and ferries as we were reliant on public transport on this holiday. Our ensuite room had a great view across Lake Garda with a small balcony. The room was clean with a generous, comfortable bed and water provided in the mini bar. Breakfast was a varied buffet of cereals, pastries, yogurt, fresh fruit and savouries as per continental breakfast, served in the adjacent hotel restaurant. The hotel restaurant also served lunch and evening meals - with an emphasis on fresh local fish, and a good selection of the regions wines. Meals could be enjoyed on the terrace, weather permitting. But stunning lakeside views were to be had regardless! The historic old town of Sirmione was a 10-12 minute walk away, with great eateries, cafés, Scaliger castle and walks along the peninsula to the Grotte di Catullo. Desenzano was well worth a visit, and only 20 minutes across the lake. Malcesine took about 1.5hrs on the ferry (only running weekends at the time of our stay).
