Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaBed was extremely uncomfortable- I like a firm bed but this was next level. I didn’t sleep well at all for the 4 nights I was there - so hard. Needs a mattress topper added. Breakfast was ok but coffee machine made cold coffee. Eggs were often cold too. Missing little touches that I expect and appreciate - milk to go with the tea and coffee, tissues and conditioner. Very noisy with street noise - not soundproof.
Location was excellent. Everything was very clean. Staff were friendly. Easy to walk from the train station and to the ferries. Old town very close. Plenty of restaurants nearby and a very handy supermarket.

United KingdomStaff were friendly and helpful. We were allowed to check in almost 2 hours early which was very much appreciated :) The room was large and clean, and included a kettle and fridge which were useful. Breakfast was nice, and included fresh fruit and sliced tomato/cucumber as well as the usual bread, cheese, meats and cake. Non-dairy milk (i saw oat and soya, there may have been others) was available at breakfast on request. The shower in the room was powerful and hot. Air conditioning was available and effective (note you have to ask reception to switch on the air conditioning for the room, but there is no extra fee). Terrace was huge! We stayed at a weekend so the roadworks outside were not in operation, but i suppose they may be a bit noisy during the week. Location was great, only a few minutes walk from the ferry terminal and train station, and on a pleasant shopping street, plenty of bars and restaurants a short stroll away.

CanadaThis might be the hardest, most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept on. Even if there was a mattress pad or something, it would help. If they changed the beds, I would have rated it much higher. Also, can be quite loud, and when we visited, the air conditioning wasn’t on. Having windows open fixed that, bit I was often awakened very early by the noisy construction happening outside.
Great location, short walk from the train station, close to the old part of Salerno and the ferries. Rooms were clean, staff very friendly and helpful.

United States of AmericaThe location was excellent. Great restaurants and shopping. You could walk to the ferry on the water. It was difficult walking from the train station with our luggage, but that was our fault. The staff was very helpful with our needs.

CroatiaAlthough the bathroom seems to have been renovated, there was a smell of sewage.
The hotel is located in a pedestrian street in the center of Salerno, a 10-minute walk from the train station, 10 minutes from the cathedral and 5 minutes from the coast. Lot of shops around. I had a room with a terrace and there was a kettle with tea and coffee. The room was clean and tidy. There is a bidet in the bathroom. The breakfast was good.

United States of AmericaWifi was weak. Could feel the springs in the mattress...wasn't so comfy. Breakfast in the morning went to 10:30. We arrived at 10 and the eggs were completely hard/dried out. The wait staff offered to make us fresh ones...which was great.

AustraliaBreakfast was good but limited. A wider choice would be welcome. The bathrooms were a bit dated and the drains backed up a little.
Great location - a short walk from the train station and close to restaurants, cafes and shopping. Beds are comfortable, the staff are very friendly and helpful and the rooms well appointed and decently sized (for family of four).

Canada3 persons in room.. one queen and one single. The single beds location was terrible. Right between 2 walls and you have to crawl into the bed.. no room at the sides.. against wall with window and another wall at other side. Looks great because bed is hidden and provides privacy but for an adult difficult to get into. For kids great...

AustraliaThe hotel is starting to show its age. The air-conditioning never got down to a good temp and felt barely above ambient. Plumbing noises were very loud; could always hear strong water flow noise from the room above. The only notification that the provided water in the room was chargeable was on a "boilerploate" type notice on the back of the entrance door. EUR2.50 for a small bottle is extortionate, especially when you can buy a big bottle across the road for 0.25c. My own fault for assuming it was complimentary, but still annoying.
Great location - an easy walk from the train, in the centre of the main pedestrian shopping strip, a short walk to the "old town" and waterfront, and heaps of restaurants nearby. The room itself was quite large. Breakfast was not extensive but nevertheless good.
