Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe bed kept splitting in the middle due to it being 2 singles so we woke up in some dodgy positions only thing I could say wasn't the best but we knew it was the case so more of a learning curve rather than something was wrong
Staff were helpful and the room was adequate. Got good use out of the jacuzzi bath it was nice also the balcony topped it all off..... the end of a long day walking about dam you can grab a wee hot chocolate on the way up to your room

United States of AmericaSince the hotel is on a busy street with the tram, it was a bit loud. However my sister wasn’t bothered by the street noise at all and I slept like a baby once I put earplugs in.
Staff was super friendly and helpful! The hotel is very continently located next to 2 tram stations to easily get around the city. The room was very clean and had everything we needed and more for our stay in Amsterdam!

United States of AmericaThe stairs take a little getting used to as they are incredibly steep and there is no elevator, but they definitely gave us a workout while on vacation!
The staff at the hotel, especially Tahir were exceptional. He was happy to answer any question we had regarding Amsterdam as it was our first time visiting and was very informative on things to do/skip while there. He was incredibly kind and always accommodating with anything we needed. The jacuzzi tub was amazing and a great way to relax after being in the rain/cold. The location of the hotel was great. A quick train ride to all major points of interest.

ItalyBelieve me when I say that this is the best hotel in town. It was not my first time in Amsterdam, I love the city and I used to change the accommodation every time but now that I know the Alp Hotel I will always come back there for sure. The staff was incredibly helpful, kind, positive and their service was absolutely on point, from the reservation to the check out; They gave me a city map with some of their personal advices written on and they explained to me a lot of tips! The first day the staff offered us a "welcome drink" and they also told us that all the hot drinks were free at any time of the day and the night (I absolutely loved that). The room was tiny (and this is not negative 'cause I knew it when I made the reservation) but it was incredibly cozy and super clean; We also find a fruit, a sweet and a bottle of water for each guest (thanks a lot, this is so lovely) The beds were comfy and warm just like the temperature in the room; The bathroom, fully renovated was just incredible, the shower was perfect and the water gets hot in a few seconds. The bathroom also came with all kinds of gadgets like dental kit, shaving kit, sewing kit etc etc. A golden star to the balcony, it was tiny but the view was stunning for an Amsterdam lover. Plus: the stairs are a little bit better than the average stairs of the buildings in the city center! Thanks a lot Alp Hotel, you made me feel at home. See you soon! Martina

AustraliaNot used to steep steps but that’s cool we coped with them.
People behind the desk are friendly and very helpful. It’s close enough to the centre and if you don’t like walking there is a tram stop out the front. Balcony is great bonus. The shower is awesome.

United KingdomTop floor meant meant a lot of narrow stairs, but all old Dutch buildings are like this. Good exercise! Would be good to have kettle in room, but free coffee/tea downstairs in reception. Just a lot of stairs to get it. Would be nice to have option for a double bed. Some road noise from trams in our room at the front of hotel, but fine with the window closed. Handy to have those trams to get about.
Great location. Tram 13 stops outside to go into the central station. Tram 3 round the corner to go to museum quarter. Trams super cheap and just use contactless to check in and out as you get on and off. Close to picturesque Jordaan district. Lovely to walk around. Good shops, restaurants and pubs. Very comfortable beds. Two singles pushed together. Lovely shower.. Staff super helpful. Couple of good cafes for breakfast round the corner, we went to Monks, but several other options within 5 mins, or super cheap coffee and croissants from Albert Heijn supermarket across the road. Close to very highly rated Moeders traditional Dutch restaurant but you have to book 4+ weeks in advance.

United States of AmericaThis is mainly personal preference, but the pillows were huge and uncomfortable. I ended up rolling up a towel to rest my head on. Also, I know this comes with the old building, and we should have expected it, but the stairs were crazy. Not so much that there were so many, but more so that the stairs were winding and tiny. Typically on trips, we would go to the hotel in the middle of the day for a rest, but on this trip, we avoided the hotel due to the hike up the stairs.
We stayed in two rooms facing the street. One room was spacious with a sofa, sink/fridge/coffee area, big tub in the bathroom, small balcony. The other room was tiny but fit our needs. Everything was clean. The staff was very friendly. The offer of a welcome drink was tied to listening to a speech about their business connections to tours and restaurants, a bit like a time share speech, but it was fine. The availability of coffee in the lobby was nice. The hotel is also situated by a few different trains which makes getting around town really easy. We loved the location.

GermanyOnly a problem for early risers: Since the hotel doesn`t offer breakfast we had to find a location nearby. Not an easy task if you get up at 6 :30 a.m.... Most cafes who offer breakfast didn`t open before 8:30 a.m. But you get free coffee at the hotel.
Perfect location vis-a-vis the tram station. The room on the groundfloor has acces to the beutifulul courtyard and is absolutely quiet. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

United KingdomThere’s nothing that I didn’t like…
Ideal central location.. Cozy rooms with garden view balcony. Jacuzzi bath was perfect after a long day of walking. This was my second stay and I will most defiantly be back as it’s my new fav boutique hotel. Quiet , warm and welcoming. Supermarket open until the wee small hours directly opposite was super handy. It’s the staff that set it apart for me , very friendly . Loved being offered a hot drink( free ) when coming in wet ect. Very considerate. Helpful and always cheery!

PolandThe shower is quite big and very comfortable, but there's a gap between the door and the floor, so water gets all over the bathroom.
Very friendly and helpful staff. The location is excellent, close to the city center with many shops and restaurants around. Our room was quite small but enough for two people, and the beds were very comfortable.
