Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaI was charged a $5 fee to use the ATM. I paid the full rate for a mediocre room with a poor view. I was charged a parking fee of $24, which has never been the case during my at least 10 other stays.. The front desk clerk was confused and it was hard to understand her English. They also put a $100 hold on my bank debit card which has already been processed and paid to the facility! feel like I was robbed at gunpoint for a one night stay.
I live in KC and have stayed at this location many times. Breakfast was prepared perfectly and my serev was delightful.

United States of AmericaWe will NEVER use booking.com again. We reserved two rooms for our stay, and you communicated the wrong name on one of the rooms so the hotel couldn't find the reservation. Even worse, booking.com charged me for the two rooms we reserved and the Intercontinental Hotel at the Plaza also charged me for both rooms. I paid double for the two rooms. I will NEVER use booking.com again. It was complete disaster and caused us great, unexpected stress we didn't need. Terrible experience.

United States of Americabooking it was horrible! since they outsource they reservations they don’t know what they are doing… I called to confirm my reservation the day before and they told us that they reserved the rooms which were not what we booked. the day of I called to do a check in and they said there is no reservation for us then I called them again and they said they found the reservation… the price is too high. also in one of our rooms the phone did not work and they haven’t fixed it while we were there. in room dining was good but to get it we had to go downstairs and order
that they have balconies, food and public areas

United States of AmericaThe bed was very uncomfortable and made it hard to sleep. My biggest gripe was for the expense of the room, why do we only get 1 ply toilet paper. That was ridiculous. They should do better, I think I paid enough for 2 ply at the very least. That’s one star hotel standards. They do not send anyone to clean your room unless you call them. I also found it very impersonal that I was getting texts from “management” with information about the stay and also to rate my stay almost the minute I checked out. I wanted to get room service one night but was told the person in charge had left for the night so I couldn’t. They seemed to have staffing issues. I also heard employees being talked down to by other employees. The things that were said should never had been said in front of guests but to be honest the one should never had snapped at these employees the way he did. It was an embarrassment for the hotel. It’s no wonder they had problems with staffing.
Gary the barista was amazing. Very friendly and went above and beyond. Most of the other staff was friendly as well. The location was just walking distance to the plaza. The room was decent. The balcony was great with a great view of the plaza. The shower pressure was fantastic.

United States of AmericaAlmost everything except location.
Last 3 times in 2 months I have stayed there, the valet was terribly understaffed, front desk was not trained and very slow, was not told I needed to ask for daily housekeeping although I’m paying highest price on the plaZa for a dirty outdated carpet dirty, old Rowell, room. Phone in room did not work. Cigarette butts all over the entry. No water in the rooms. A total disappointment. Will be staying at the Raphael and recommending to my friends that travel weekly to do the same. 6 weeks in a row, either through my business and this was business/personal trip. Pay attention to the tradition and or sell to someone who understands the alameda plaza was the best, followed by the Ritz, now a holiday inn property which I am a member of of IHP and they can’t find my membership # . Failing fast. Can you give me a answer why I should stay there for 2 month for 3 days a week

United States of AmericaThe front desk staff were inattentive and unfriendly (with the exception of one daytime staff and she was great, seemed to care about the customers and very nice). They told us you won’t get housekeeping unless you call down, I guess I’m spoiled but ‘Hi, thank you for coming, let me get you checked in’ must be a luxury. As soon as we arrived we inquired about the frig in our room not working and asked for a new one, they said they didn’t have any and sent up an engineer who felt it with his hand, and said it’s working fine, it’s just small. When leaving for dinner I stopped at the front desk, the person started of immediately telling me the engineer said it’s fine then she was so excited about a coworker interrupting to hand her a coffee she needed to then interrupt me to address the coworker ‘oh my gosh, is that for me, thank you, oh I love you!’ then basically again denied there was a problem stating their engineer said it’s working fine and it’s probably just because it’s small. I asked if working means it cools because it’s not. A woman, who I’m guessing was the night supervisor, interrupted her customer to call over ‘what’s the problem?’ and then she too denied there was a problem, eventually acquiescing she could change our room but would offer no assistance telling us we could call a bellman to have us stuff moved. Wrapping us this awesome customer service experience, when checking out, the front desk employee looked like he’d rather be anywhere else, didn’t greeted or asked about my stay. I inquired about an overnight charge on my bill and the man said ‘I have no idea, did you charge something?’ I replied ‘no it was 3am, that’s why I’m asking you’. His response was ‘I have no idea, I’m just billing you now’. This experience is an excellent example of people may not remember what you said but will remember how you made them feel and it’s pretty disappointing and crappy.
I have stayed at the hotel many, many times. We have had so many fun family and friend trips just to hang out at the pool and enjoy the bar. The location can’t be beat. Joshua at the pool was very friendly and helpful. The bellman was very helpful and seemed to enjoy interacting with customers. The air conditioning worked great and our room was clean when we arrived. We happened to run into someone from administration outside of the building and joked about a problem we were having and he asked a few questions, told us he worked for the company and followed through to intervene and to fix it.

United States of AmericaThis hotel was filthy. Our room was filthy. From the moment we walked into the hotel it smelled of mold. Our room smelled of mold and it was obvious that someone had been in there previously. There were no amenities and the carpet was filthy as well as the waste baskets being full of trash. It had not been cleaned. The light in the bathroom did not work. I asked nicely for it to be cleaned. It never was. No one seems to really care for this property. Perhaps like many places they did not have trained staff or any staff but then why did I pay $400 a night?
There was nothing to like about this property.

United States of AmericaThis hotel was not near as nice as when we last stayed here in 2018. The room was dilapidated, wallpaper was peeling off the walls and the bathroom did not feel clean. Definitely not like our previous experiences so we’ll be staying somewhere else in the future.
We really like the location and the beautiful lobby. We chose this hotel because we stayed here for our wedding weekend a few years ago so it holds great memories.

United States of AmericaIn photos, it’s gorgeous! Beautiful updated design and finishes. However, up close, our room’s craftsmanship was very poor in my opinion. Wish they didn’t hire amateur installers to put together the remodeling. Very disappointing for the higher price point and the “luxury” hotel factor. For me, it simply took the luxury out of it. But everything else made up for that, of course.
Quiet. Slow paced. Clean. Good location close to activity, restaurants, shopping! Love the walkabilty and neighborhood. Good customer service/ timely response to our needs for extra blankets and pillows. Beautiful hotel lobby for IG worthy photos. Coffee shop was great. We had a nice view of the little river and the plaza which was nice. Attached parking - loved the convenience of walking from each floor of parking right into hotel!! That was our favorite part, I think.
