Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaStayed at the lodge, information on the website was misleading as the breakfast shown was only for those staying at the cottages. While the lodge was a grab & go bag consisting of packaged muffin, chewy granola bar, apple juice and an apple, not very healthy. They only provided coffee, no decaf or tea options in lobby or room.
Clean room & friendly staff,

United States of Americai didn't like that there was no maid service but the maids were available for necessities or you could call the office for your needs. there is a charge of $50 for dogs for the full stay or $250.00 if they find out you have dogs and didnt tell them. our tv had a glitch with 3 spots of light on the screen. since there were no maids making your bed the fitted covers and fitted sheets seemed too small for the beds and had to be constantly stretched and pulled back on. the other thing i always struggle with is making the reservation because there are two lighthouses one is the lodge and one is the cottages and they're across the street from one another, so you have to be really careful when making reservation. from what i can tell the cottages are much nicer than the lodge and he cottages dont allow dogs and ,of course, are more expensive.
we were able to change our room after check in because we werent happy with the first room because of location. the second room was quiet, clean and accessible to outdoor area for our dogs. breakfast was bagged including apple juice, small apple, muffin and granola bar.

United States of AmericaSraff could have been more knowledgable about the operation of heating system and wifi,(though we figured it out.) More simple signage with arrows etc to the numbered cottages would be helpful as the driveways/ roads are twisty and lined with old trees. The beajfast bags could have been less processed carbohydrates or better quality baked goods that were not all sweet (such as a bagel and cream cheese or homemade or retaurant-quality rather than mass-market uffis and energy bars.
I have now stayed at three hotels in Pacific Grove near the ocean this year and this was by far the nicest and best orrganized. My only complaint was that the ample hot water in the very spacious bathtub and shower ran a bit TOO hot for safety, and that the high sides of the tub might be difficult for someone with disabilities to nativage well. There wer only two of us, but the cottage with a separate den and pullout bed was easily spacius enough for a family , with sliding provacy doors between them and dual entrances to the bathroom. Everything was clean when we arrived, with no smell of sanitizers of scented cleaning prodicts, as I requested. The front desk is staffed round the clock which makes checkin and dealing with any orblems much easier. No shared walls with other uitsmakes for a rstful stay and plenty of privacy. I told staff I need to leave early in the mmorning to drive to work over the hill and they porvided a breakfast bag the night before. Vry friendly and pleasant stafing! Closet space was ample and well stocked, as was the bathroom. The mattress was quite comfortable, not overly hard or soft.

United States of AmericaFor myself at least, very poor WiFi. The room mini refrigerator is probably in need of replacing. The motor goes on and off very loudly. Microwave did not work. Phone checkout was strongly recommended but the phone was not connected or broken.
it is very quiet, and a nice short walk to the shoreline.

United States of AmericaI wish that there was at least 1 parking spot designated to each room so guests have a spot to park close to their room. And I think the beds could use an upgrade, there was a lump in the middle of the bed we stayed in and it wasn’t very comfortable.
the staff & location was great!

United States of AmericaI thought I would be on the ground floor and had to park underneath, walk up a hill and traverse stairs which is difficult for me. I never went to the office for a breakfast bag for the same reason--walking up hill is difficult and the office is not on the property. It would have been nice to have the bags delivered in the morning--perhaps set up at check-in.
The room was pleasant and I enjoyed the fireplace and the fire pit in the evening.
