Merano is a wonderful city with lots of opportunities for fine walks - easy up to challenging. The environment is Mediterranean beautiful with lots of nice flowers everywhere and breath-taking views to the mountains around Merano.
Especially beautiful is a trip to the gardens of Castle Trautmannsdorf - which we visited already the second time.
Even on Sundays it was easy to buy food in open supermarkets for breakfast. In the evening it easy to find beautiful and stylish restaurants with excellent kitchen.
We also enjoyed our ride to Village Tyrol and the trip up to Hochmuth.

Merano was great, however it was marred by our accommodation which was underneath another apartment undergoing constant noisy renovations, and we had to check out two days early with no refund from our unhospitable host.

The tourist season in the city is mainly between April and November, so some restaurants/bars are open for limited time, but this is specific to the city as a whole. But still there are a huge number of stores that are open and having sales.
The city is very charming and beautifully situated. Typical for rest and light physical activity.

Merano is an amazing place with an incredible Spa, especially if you take advantage of the sauna area. Countless good restaurants available everywhere you look. The botanical garden at Trauttmansdorff is well worth a visit; allow enough time to enjoy it properly. Meran2000 is a must do for outdoorsy people. It's a bit upscale. Lots of fancy shops and stores. You can go swimming in the river upstream aways there's a swimming hole that can be seen from the Torre delle Polveri. Go to the Forst Biergarten restaurant. It was so good I ate there three times.
Well maintained spa on 4th floor with loads of options to relax - even sauna rituals daily hosted by some great guys that gave us a new threshold in a sauna! The relaxation room with its 3 or 4 storey high floor to ceiling windows is a ‘must’! We both fell asleep within minutes then sat and admired the view, like we’ve never done anywhere else. Great attention to space throughout the hotel, too - this added to our relaxed feel. Car park also was great - straight into the hotel and plenty of parking spaces.
The appartment was very spacious and had good equipment. We only stayed for a very short time so we could'nt try out the kitchen. Also the location seems to be rather convenient. Parking was a bit difficult since there was no dedicated space but street parking and public parking lots, but most of them were full all the time. I would probably book this apparment again. The shower was my highlight! :)
The apartment is newly renovated, beautiful, so comfortable, and much larger than we expected. The best part was Friedrich who was incredibly accommodating with his hospitality. The fine couple who owns the apartment are locals and we were treated like their visiting guests. Merano is a gem of a town. I hope to stay in touch with them and return someday. Grazie dank Freidrich!
Super nice appartment in the calm area surrounded by pine trees
Enough space for 2 or 3 people. In summer you can use a nice terrace
Box for the car attached to the building
5 min from Terme and in summer just has a view on the open area of Terme
Margit is a great host, met us and explained everything
We got coffee, tea and biscuits :) plus a ticket for transportation.
Great location in the city center. Easy to reach restaurants and bars, stores and shopping area. Room is spacious, has a small fridge/coffee machine and plenty of space for suitcases/backpacks. A/C makes temperature very comfy, also in the middle of summer. Because of the pedestrian-only area, it is a very silent room.
Everything was perfect, excellent location, 5 minute walk to the city center. Our appartment was on the 1st floor, spacious room, everything clean. We could use outdoor whirpool, which was perfect. We didnt use pool, but looked fine. Free parking was great bonus.
the interior of the apartment is impressive. There is a lot of space inside. Parking space is very close to the second entrance to the apartment. Great location. Very close to the city center, there is a shop and restaurant nearby. Peaceful neighborhood
Location is just amazing, on the hill above the city of Merano, terrace facing towards west side (sunsets!) surrounded with apple trees. Apartment is spacious and completely new, with private pool and the family is super kind.
We loved it. Wonderful location in the center of Merano, friendly hosts who gave us great tips (for example where to eat), and they were so nice to our dog, who even got her own 'hotel bed' (dog bed). Thank you!
The hotel is modern and cool, the staff are super friendly and professional, the breakfast is absolutely amazing and the spa center is really well done. We enjoyed every single moment spent in the hotel.
The room was very clean and comfortable and the location is perfect for enjoying the historic center of Merano. There was a place to store our bikes as well. The coffee and tea table was a nice touch.
Rooms had good sized living room/kitchen so it felt like you weren't at a hotel. Close location to center of town. Very nice staff. Good spa center and relax center with nice teas.
a very spacious room in an old beautifully restored building right in the heart of the city, yet quiet. friendly reception, and a good restaurant too, the breakfast exceptional.
Beautiful property, host was very helpful, allowed late check-out, and great location walkable to basically everything in Merano. Would stay at this property again
