The 2 ladies that seemed to carry out most of the public tasks were brilliant, always happy and smiling and willing to help when they were required. The evening meals were good and perfectly cooked and after returning to the bar we were able to get drinks and sit and relax until 10ish. The breakfast was excellent, the 'full english' was huge and set us up for the day. However there was not much of a selection of cereal and no fruit or bread rolls etc as found in some hotels

Absolutely a gem of a location and a great place to stay. Brilliant value for money. Lovely fire in the snug area and spend a few hours relaxing and enjoying the atmosphere. Josh, the barman is a nice guy, but all of the staff are super friendly and helpful. All staff go above and beyond to make you welcome, and they really care for their guests, making sure you have everything they need. The lady doing the breakfast service was really attentive and caring. Food is fantastic with large servings and only suggestion I can offer is to have a few more traditional pub type meals on the menu and a few less upmarket ones but we still had a great meal. Will definitely be back.

Clean, very welcoming and homely. We had a lovely nights stay, room was spacious, comfortable bed, everything you need and a fab en-suite. The breakfast was fantastic, My husband said it was the best he’s had and he has had a few. Look forward to returning, Lynette and David were the perfect hosts.
