Very nice Bed & Breakfast in a lovely village. Comfortable parking lot in front of the building. Nice breakfast served 8-10 am. Unfortunately we enjoyed it only once during our 3-night stay since we started our days earlier for hiking and for getting to the airport. We got great breakfasts in the center of the village where bakeries and coffee shops were already open at 7 am. Friendly and helpful owners- kindly reserved a nice restaurant for our dinner. We did not bring shampoo or soap with us- the owner explained that it is not customary for a B&B to provide these but kindly gave us some.

It's a cute, friendly town.
It's a cute, friendly town. Not overrun with tourists like so many other towns on the lake. Good restaurants, good bars, a great pasticceria, and good cafes. Not one bad moment! (When traveling through the town, do NOT follow Google map suggestions - if the occur - to use "small" roads. Note the different widths of roads on the maps. Only use the wider one. Narrow ones can take you to alleys you may not be able to go through.)

If you have much luggage, I would travel there by car. Otherwise travelling by bus was really easy and inexpensive. We ate at most of the places on the main street through the town. We loved the views, in all honesty they were just spectacular. The best part of driving to the village was admiring the countryside as you got there. That being said, make sure you don't have a very wide vehicle as you drive up from the Lake Lugano side. The roads are very thin and have some sharp hairpin bends. Driving up from Lake Como is much more relaxing, using the main road. Our favourite place to eat was the Taverna Due Castagni. The food was amazing, the prices (average 11€ per course) make it superbe value for money. A great pizza restaurant on the main square. Not much shopping for tourists seeking souvenirs but a genuine local town. Great location for accessing both lake Como and lugano. The hair pin bends are interesting! Would recommend Porlezza on lake lugano and Pirga for the walk to the Belvedere and the funicular down to Argegno which is a beautiful little village. Pleasant breakfast room, outdoor area to sit and enjoy the view. Large room. Comfortable bed. Fabulous views! Efficient staff. What a nice place to spend some time on vacation. Be advised that the roads up and down the mountain and Val to the hotel are intimidating at first to us Americans. We were glad we had a small car with automatic transmission. By our final day, we were driving like the locals!

Besides not being in the main Villa (currently in renovation) we had a fantastic experience. The room was big, clean and the bed was very comfortable. Bathroom was new and spacious. At night when it gets a bit cold, the heater warms the room in less than 15 minutes. I highly recommend this gem. Perfect spot if you have a car and want to visit Lake Como.
