We felt this was the best value deal for all the hotels on our trip. They provide a 5-10 minute shuttle to and from Bellagio all throughout the day for only 5 euro. So you can visit Bellagio but then escape the busy tourist areas when you want. This hotel feels like a remote resort when you arrive. Because of its hillside location- Every room has an incredible lake view, as well as the pool and the terrace area. The staff up from were very friendly and patient to help us. One day the express boat ferry wasn’t running and they gave us a map and wrote down instructions to a nearby (300 meters away) bus stop to help us get back to Como. The rooms were large and the vibe was very relaxing. A large breakfast buffet is available along with a full bar. The staff also thought we left something (cheap free flip flops from another hotel) and followed up with us the day we left -offering to ship them to us if we wanted. They went over the top to please.

Everything was perfect. We had booked two standard rooms that were anything but standard. Huge rooms, comfortable beds, beautiful decor, and our room was upgraded to a partial lake view upon arrival which means we had a beautiful balcony where we could sit and have a coffee overlooking Lake Como. Breakfast had everything anyone could want and everything was fresh and delicious. The pool area was perfect - cool or warm water pools, lots of options for shade or sun, pool area or lawn. Pool bar had great food and drink and super friendly, fun and attentive staff. Location was absolute perfection - 5 min walk into town but tucked up on a hill to be away from the busyness of the main town area. When I saw some of the other hotels I had considered that were right in the middle of town, I was grateful I had decided on Hotel Belvedere - close enough to walk easily to restaurants and shops and the ferry - but an oasis away from the crowds.

You will not get a better view from another venue.....anywhere in Bellagio; guaranteed.
The room has a high ceiling and large windows and patio door; wonderful.
This hotel is a few minutes out of town so it's best to have a vehicle. Wonderful to have an electric charging station on site.
If you decide to cycle to town, you'd better be in A+++ shape. It's very hilly.
Views in all directions are amazing. A good idea to stay a few days to allow the ambiance to seep in.

Three nights in Bellagio gave us a taste of the area.
Three nights in Bellagio gave us a taste of the area. We planned a day of sightseeing some of the magnificent villas - this proved challenging, as the ferries don't run for several hours in the afternoon. We figured out that a morning excursion and return to Bellagio around 2pm worked best. Many good dining options in Bellagio and lots of super cute shops!

If you are prepared for a rather over crowed tourist location the town and surrounds is great to visit, however be aware that this is not a 'charming' and quaint town (certainly not in 2024) the days of a relaxed, layback and pleasant visit are long gone. In the background behind the tourist day trippers is a very scenic and unique vista that makes the visit worthwhile. After the day crows leave by mid evening the town reverts to a much quieter and relaxing place. Ferry travel to other towns on the lake is easy but be prepared for big lineups during peak times. Shops and some food outlets generally are a let down as they cater more for day trippers with an hour or two to spend in the town before moving on to the next ferry stop..... as a consequence pricing is excessive.

Absolutely an amazing place all around.
Absolutely an amazing place all around. Gets slightly touristy in the busy season but I don’t mind being in that kind of place when it’s this beautiful. Amazing food options in town and opportunity to get all the way around the lake by ferry. The ferries were our only hiccup, be very careful picking the correct boats and build in some extra time for things being sold out. Will be back again!

Bellagio is definitely worth a visit, we stayed 4 nights but it could easily have been done in 2. Worth visiting other areas on Lake Como such as Menaggio, Varenna, Tremezzo and Lecco. In general Lake Como is expensive to stay most places and food and drink is generally more expensive than other places we have visited in Italy. If visiting other towns around the lake it’s worth getting a day pass and works out much cheaper.

Getting to Bellagio is not the easiest, even with the amazing public transport system in Italy, it is still a bit of a slog from airport to Bellagio. But whether you chose to travel in by bus, or by train and ferry both trips come with incredible views of Lake Como.
Yes the village is full of stairs, but what magical stair lanes they are, lined with shops, cafes and restaurants they are well worth the effort away from the lake side.
It was my first trip to this area and the travel time is definitely worth it, although accommidation is expensive the sensational food is reasonable. The whole experience is happy, from the views to the people it feels warm and welcoming.
Coziness and friendliness of the stuff!
It’s a fantastic place to visit Bellagio, out of the overcrowded center and very calm. If you’re looking for a place to visit Lake Como, I deeply recommend! Also, they give you free pass to Gardine di Villa Melzi, magic spot (got engaged there) 😁
On top of that, there’s 2 cute dogs (Suzie and Nocce) that are always happy to see you and coming for pets (loved that as I’m pet owner myself)
Lake Como has the most amazing views everywhere you look , a photographers paradise . We loved Bellagio . The accomodation was nice, although difficult to access with heavy cases. Courtyard pleasant area to sit , although no privacy as overlooked by hotel to right , and home in front .
Having a kitchen allowed us to cook our own meals .
top location at the front lake side, very friendly staff, everything in walking distance. Hotel with Restaurant and typical food at normal lake Como prices, very nice rooftop bar for Aperitivo, you better book a place in advance for sunny evenings. we can definitely recommend and would come back to stay here.
Just the most amazing luxury hotel in the most perfect location! We stayed in the JFK Suite and loved every second of it. Beautiful views out across Lake Como and the staff were impeccable.
