The whole experience was excellent. We loved the hosts and the B&B was comfortable, clean and very well appointed. The view of the ocean was lovely. We really enjoyed the pancakes, best pancakes ever! Would very happily stay here again if we ever return to Ireland.

So underrated, I would wholly recommend Ardara to anyone looking for friendly, kind locals in Donegal. It’s a quiet town in the middle of the west coast, perfect as a base for exploring Co. Donegal. Nancy’s Pub is great in the evenings; Sliabgh Liag Distillery is a must-visit and Eddie Doherty is a local celebrity with his weaving skills! Reasonably priced Donegal tweed products - much more affordable than the other shop in town. The Courthouse (in the Heritage Center) also does delicious breakfasts and baked goods. The only thing I’d be wary of is walking along the road - the drivers speed regardless of the time of day.

Easy to get around.
Easy to get around. Parking in free car parks or on the street.
Good base for touring Donegal.
Main hotel Nesbitt Arms are taking in Ukrainian refugees so will be closed to tourist accommodation.
The Corner House & other pubs are lively on a weekend night, so it can be noisy on the streets after hours.
Mostly good pub food available - very few restaurants.
Auntie B's is really exceptional. It is a bed and breakfast with impeccable standards all driven by Barbara who has hospitality running through her veins. Pride, great care, generosity and thoughtfulness are to the fore. Simple, bright, well-aired accommodation that is spotlessly clean and a breakfast cooked fresh to order by Barbara herself, and served by her lovely staff. A little gem with more to offer than a lot of hotels. Thank you Barbara for showing how it should be done.
Everything! Having stayed in Ardara a number of times over the last few years I love the town. I have always stayed in the local hotels. Never again! This house surpasses anywhere that I have ever stayed. The owners are amazing. The Cottage is amazing. People thought I was mad to go to a cottage in Donegal in December. To be honest this house is warmer and more comfortable then anywhere else I have ever stayed. I'm so impressed that I have decided to rebook for the new year.
Woodhill House is a magical location, just a short and lovely walk from Ardara, a wonderful little town, and just a short drive to many wonderful beaches, including the Caves of Marghera which were stunning, the beach at Portnoo which was great for swimming. John and his son James (who tended the bar and poured an excellent pint) were great hosts and Helen, who served breakfast, was sweet and gracious.
The accommodation is extremely central with free on street parking. Aileen welcomed us to our lovely, clean homely room. We had full use of the kitchen facilities which included a coffee machine, kettle, fridge etc. Lots of food items were also given to us to enjoy over the course of our stay. The generosity and extra little touches meant a lot. We will 100% be back for another visit in the future.
Beautiful location, close to anywhere you want to go but not in the hub of everything, Ardara is a lovely place, Irene is the perfect host makes you more than welcome and nothing is to much trouble, Rooms are very comfortable, we had a great nights sleep, Breakfast was perfect served with Irish wheaten bread, Plenty of space to park your car off road which is a bonus to us Will be back for sure
The Old Barracks is a great location to stay in the centre of Ardara. Jacinta went out of her way to accommodate our needs. Her home baking was very appreciated too. we only spent a night but this would be a fabulous place to base yourself to see the sights of the area. Her recommendation to go go Marghera Beach and caves was great.
My sisters and I loved every aspect of this great flat.Perfect location for all Ardara's amenities, tastefully furnished and equipped to perfection. The owners, who came to greet us the morning after arrival, had thought of everything in terms of comfort and convenience.Thank you Paula and Bernie.
Many thanks to Maria and her warm welcome in her beautiful place and location! The house was spacious and very functional. It was very clean and accurate to the description. We spend a lovely time with my family. I def recommend this place if you want a peaceful escapade in the country side.
Nice restaurant in the hotel. Not expensive. Quantities more than adequate. Quick and friendly service. Not exceptional but perfectly fine. If your intention is to explore the area by foot, not much to see. By car and within 15-20 miles, beautiful beaches and deserted, untouched areas.
The Ardara Lookout is a wonderful accommodation. It is in a nice house by the ocean. There is a common room with an amazing view over the bay. Brigitte and Adrien are exceptionally friendly and helpful hosts, they gave us a lot of recommendations for the next days.
Very comfortable and fully equipped apartment, just a 2 minute walk to the centre of Ardara where there are plenty of options for eating out, supermarket and pubs for entertainment. Hosts Rosina and John couldn’t do enough for us, highly recommend.
Beautiful, comfortable house with great views. Our host was warm, welcoming, and assisted with dinner recommendations/reservations. Breakfast was delicious and served inside the warm and cozy kitchen. Made us feel so at home and at peace.
The self service breakfast & kitchen was ideal for our trip - The kitchen was clean & kept well stocked with food for breakfast & snacks, tea & coffee. My son asked "Mum, why did you bring us to such a nice hotel?"
The walled garden, which is shaped like a Celtic cross, was lovely, as were the views from the front of the house It was a short and safe walk into Ardara and a good home base for exploring the coastline.
Great Hosts - Great Location - easy walk to Ardara town, the Distillery (and Showgrounds on the day that was in it!). I recommend all visitors to enquire about the Rugby jersey on display in the Hall !
Very good quality & clean B&B, Aunty B is very pleasant as are her staff. The house is very clean tidy and comfortable. We spent 3 nights in Donegal. It was the best B&B we stayed in.
