Staying at a fortress is an incredible experience and I am so glad we spent our first night in Sweden at Kastellet Bed and Breakfast! The building is phenomenal. The rooms are charming. Friendly and helpful staff. Great breakfast buffet. Plenty of activities to enjoy. It’s the perfect place to stay if you’re here for a tournament or race. It also works well as a family vacation spot, especially for those with an active lifestyle. I highly recommend staying for a week, one night just isn’t enough! 😄

Very nice design resort 30 min from Stockholm. Close to the see. Lots to do, paddel, spa, swimming pools, saunas and games. The place is beautifully decorated Soho House style.

    Vaxholm is the gateway to the Stockholm archipelago, so visiting other islands via ferry is easy. Vaxholm itself is very interesting and worth at least a couple days. If you plan on island hopping (day trips from Vaxholm), then figure an additional day per island. If you don't have time to day trip, then definitely take a boat tour to just get a feel for this gorgeous archipelago. It's stunning.

    Vaxholm is great place to base yourself for hopping out to the more remote parts of the archipelago, as many of the ferries from Stockholm stop here before fanning out into the islands. There is a small range of cafes and restaurants, and the Thai Restaurant is particulalry good value and very friendly. The backstreets are well worth an explore, and it is only a short walk south over the bridge to the nature reserve. When the weather is good, it is simply stunning. We loved the Castle, too.

    It's a small old city with amazing views around the archipelago, easy to walk around to see beautiful old houses with smiling and helpful citizens. Easy access by bus or boat from Stockholm downtown.

    Vaxholm itself has shops, cafes and cycle hire. The nearby islands and the far end of Vaxholm are well worth the visit. There are several separate ferry companies serving the island and a bus so worth researching them on the Internet before hand.

    The room was tastefully decorated, there was a well equipped kitchenette, the grounds of the villa we're picturesque and Sanna was a welcoming and friendly host. I would highly recommend staying here if you're spending the night on Vaxholm (which is a lovely, quiet escape from Stockholm).     This place is located on another island than Vaxholm but the car ferry runs often and is free so it is very easy to go back and forth to Vaxholm, even very late. Location itself is nice with a terrace with a very nice view. Rooms were good, in line with what we expected. Breakfast that was offered was good.

    Apartment is a part of a big beautiful villa in a lush garden area, very helpful and friendly hosts, peaceful, clean, close to the lovely Vaxholm town as well as boat and bus connections, comfortable beds, we had a very good stay!

    A very tiny house with a fantastic view. In a beautiful street in Vaxholm. Everything was there. Nice patio and on walking distance of the centre and the harbour. Good wifi and a private parking place.
