I loved staying at Auberge du Bon Laboureur in Chenonceau with my family and can easily say it was the best part of our ten day trip across the country. The hotel staff was so kind and welcoming, we relaxed in their pool and jacuzzi after long days sightseeing, had a wonderful dinner at their excellent bistro, it felt like home away from home.

A very pleasant stay and friendly staff. A lovely evening meal and good breakfast. Our room was spotlessly clean and the bed very comfortable.

Plan to spend a whole day to discover the castle and gardens. You can ask for a stamp on your wrist to leave the grounds and return within the same day, so you don't have to eat overpriced food with thousands of tourists. You can get sandwiches at the local bakery for picnic.
We highly recommend taking the audio guide: it must be booked in advance, as they tend to run out of them. The audio guide has several extra recordings that provide interesting info (e.g., food in the Renaissance times, sleeping advice from Ambroise Paré, the WWI and WWII periods, etc).
We stayed at the Clos Medicis: great location, great room with comfy beds. highly recommended!

The Chateau and gardens are amazing!
The Chateau and gardens are amazing! The only detraction was that our visit was on a very hot Sunday afternoon and the number of visitors made it crowded. Still, the flow of the audio tour through the Chateau moved along. The online reservation system worked fine.
A huge number of kayakers and boaters in the River Cher made photo opportunities challenging. Despite these issues it was a great experience and a tremendous learning opportunity regarding the history.

The Chateau was fun and interesting, obviously old and well taken care of, and the walk through the rooms was well designed. It was crowded considering distancing requirements, but you could make your way to all the rooms without a problem. The grounds were the more interesting part of the visit and we could have spent more time exploring them. Also, if you've got time, there's a bridge down the river (east) from the Chateau and there's a number of different options for boats and canoes to see the Chateau from the river.

We took our time and visited the interior of Chateau Chenonceau for 3 hours and exterior gardens and maze for 1.5. Can definitely spend a whole day there when the weather is nicer and flowers in bloom. Exceptionally kept and restored with an excellent audio guide. A must see even if you only have a day or two in Loire. We ate at Auberge du bon laborer amazing dinner and breakfast.

The chateau is the main attraction.
The chateau is the main attraction. Chenonceaux itself is centred around a main street with a variety of bars, restaurants and hotels with varied prices. We ate at a restaurant/brasserie promoting its burgers - modern decor and very friendly service. All these places are walking distance from the chateau.
We had a wonderful stay at Hotel La Roseraie. It was in a very romantic setting with pretty landscaping, difficult to imagine we were in a town. They offered a nice breakfast and we enjoyed a wonderful dinner outside on the terrace. We were able to easily park our bicycles in a safe place and it was a 5 minute walk to Chenonceaux. The staff was very helpful and we felt very welcome. The rooms were very comfortable with good a/c. We would definitely stay here again!
We stayed in room 427, an adorable suite in the courtyard that was perfect for a small family. Lots
Of extras in the room. The grounds are beautiful and perfectly situated to tour the Loire valley. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. No money exchanged hands, food and beverages were automatically put onto your room accounts with nothing to sign and no worries, turndown and housekeeping came while you were out with no fuss. It felt like a trip back in time.
I loved staying at this hotel. The staff is very kind and they are very attentive to everything. The room I stayed in is very spacious and equipped with everything you need in a hotel, the room had a beautiful view of the hotel spa and was also very quiet. I loved the SPA, and the pool which is very warm. The breakfast is great and has options for all tastes. Of course I will come back to this place where I feel really at home !!
Excellent choice for everyone who wants to visit Chateau Chenonceau and is looking for superb quality of stay mixed with good price. The owner was super welcoming, room was good and comfortable. The breakfast was served with local / home-made products that tasted exceptionally good. As most will come by car - there is a good parking next to house that makes moving in and out easy.
Excellent and very good value breakfast, Isabelle and Patrick were excellent hosts, and Le Roi Coq is in a beautiful location very close to Chateau Chenonceau so a great place to stay and visit the Chateau.
A tip if you want a restaurant is that they get full so booking is recommended , Isabelle and Patrick will give useful advise on which to avoid and value for money.
When we arrived the parking was full, yet there's a car service at the hotel, and I simply left my keys to have my car parked for night. That was an added value. The private swimming pool is great, clean and cosy, yet not too small. The breakfast was wonderful! And the location is simply perfect for visiting the Château de Chenonceau. We liked very much this hotel!
Excellent location tucked away behind the Creperie on the Main Street in Chenonceaux a few minutes walk from the castle. Lovely large room with tea and coffee making facilities, sofa and spacious bathroom. Nelly and her husband were fabulous hosts and the breakfast was excellent. Highly recommend!
A great place to stay in Chenonceaux. Quite and well-decorated place with an amazing breakfast with natural products made every day by the owner. Super helpful staff. She helped us with the best castles to visit and the fastest routes.
The dinner was fantastic and for a 3-star hotel the quality of the hotel and facilities was excellent. It was an overnight stay only on a drive back through France and was perfect for that. Would return for another short break.
! We had three persons, so we appreciated the extra large room with twbo double beds. It was conveniently located near the Château de Chenonceau. All the amenities made it a very comfortable stay. The Creperie is also fabulous!
Everything about this hotel ticked the right boxes, from the room with a private sitting area over looking the flower lined courtyard to the location being just 400 meters walk to a loire château. Highly recommended
Very convenient location, price not cheap because of popularity fo Chenonceau. Huge room for the 4 of us. Breakfast was good (although also not cheap and not for extras, like cooked items)
Nice hotel in small village close to chateau Chenonceau.
Beautiful garden and pool
Breakfast buffet was good
There is a restaurant nearby that is linked to the hotel, Dinner there was good
Very conveniently located, 10 minutes walk from the Chateau de Chenonceaux.
The staff were welcoming and helpful. We had a lovely dinner in the restaurant .
