They had a nice meal prepared in the lobby upon check-in. My husband loved the crock-pot chicken and pasta dish. This was a great touch, after a long day on the road!

The breakfast was okay. I like the variety of food items offered. I would like a little more like waffles or something. I also liked how clean and simple the rooms are. I asked to change one of our rooms from a king bed to two queens. They were able to accommodate us despite a full hotel.

Nice small town off of beaten path with any amenities you may need. Great restaurant and ale house 'Rail Shake' had excellent food and spirits along with friendly and helpful staff. Easy to navigate around town. Only 1 'Hotel' found though a few BnBs; did not check AirBnB due to last minute reservation.

We didn't even stay at Hampton Inn, but no one will listen!
We didn't even stay at Hampton Inn, but no one will listen! Not booking.com, not Hampton Inn. We paid almost $200 for a room that we didn't stay in. What was falsly advertised was a hotel with a pool. We booked the room with full intention of using the pool, it was our main deciding factor in choosing a room. We got there and the pool was closed for cleaning, on a Friday! Isn't that the busiest day for travel? Anyway, no big deal, there are other hotels we can stay at to swim. The front desk lady didn't know what to do as far as cancelling or rescheduling our stay. I've written in, but no one has written back.

All folks I met in Hays were pleasant, friendly and helpful.
All folks I met in Hays were pleasant, friendly and helpful. Whiskey Creek had great food. Public library is excellent. Great architecture around town. Police are on the job - visible - there to help and serve. Hotels on North side of town are more expensive; yet, I understand from Linley at Whiskey Creek that those Hotels are worth the price. He specifically recommended the Avid, where he had stayed when he first relocated to Hays. Linley is an excellent human being and a great server, too! Folks in the stores were nice. I also like Hays' proximity to Salina and Junction City, KS - two other areas I enjoyed on my trip from East to West. I also applied for an apartment rental. I'm retired! Thanks to all.

Hays is a great location to stop on our drive from St. Louis to the Denver area. The town is big enough that is has a few good restaurants (breweries) especially in the old town area. Hotels very convenient off Hwy 70.

Hays was well situated for breaking up our trip from Topeka to Estes Park CO and back. Gella's Diner & LB Brewery was great and we ate there both coming and going. Did not like the roundabouts on Vine. Did not stay long enough to experience much else of Hays. Would like to come back and visit the Sternberg Museum.
I was recently traveling over the Thanksgiving holiday and my wife became ill. We had to delay our trip a few days, I canceled my reservation Holiday Inn Express & Suites Hays on 11/18, the evening before our scheduled stay on 11/19. I have been battling ever since to get my money refunded to no avail. I have been in constant contact with both the property and booking.com and each of them are telling me to deal with the other. I do not recommend this property or booking.com.
I visit Hays once or twice each year and this is my preferred place to stay. This time we stayed a week. I like the comfortable beds, clean rooms, pleasant staff, and very reasonable price. There's currently road construction outside and Covid restrictions mean that breakfast options are currently limited, but this was not a problem for us. McD and other restaurants are within easy walking distance.
Perfect place to stop when traveling through Kansas. Hotel is right off the highway. Staff very friendly and helpful. Room was outstanding - clean with great amenities. Full kitchen with pans, utensils, etc. a bonus. Bed was very comfortable, towels were nice and soft. Good breakfast with hot options (eggs, sausage, waffles) and cereal, bagels, muffins, etc. Highly recommend.
A nice hotel in a good area. The staff were very pleasant and the beds were comfy. The salt pool was great, but supposed to be heated and wasn't, so we didn't stay in long! The shower was great and the hotel provided shampoo/conditioner etc.
Breakfast was nice but fairly limited and checkout was easy!
A nice little place
This place was great. It was newly refurbished, very clean and appointed with everything we needed. The breakfast was amazing with southwestern omelets and wonderful potatoes etc. We had been traveling across the US and this was our best hotel!
We were only looking for a one night room on a cross country trip. These hotels work great. Wasn't really looking for anything grand just a nice comfortable place for a reasonable price. It was clean, comfortable and right off the highway.
Room was very clean, staff great. A sitting chair would be nice. Breakfast was about what you expect from a hotel free breakfast. Excellent location for what we did. Pool was very clean and large enough to swim laps
The breakfast was a continental style, with breads and cereals There is a pancake machine, which is nice, but no other hot foods. It was fine for this level of hotel.
