The construction crews trucks took up 90 percent of the parking. They should have parked in overflow. They bbq on all levels of hotel and left piles of bbq ashes and left overs all over the perimeter of parking lot . Every day you get up to beer bottles and caps everywhere. When the construction crews were gone through the day there was still piles of their equipment everywhere. When they came back at end of day all you could smell was pot and had to listen to loud music and the drinking till late .

The location and view were spectacular. The balcony was huge! The room was clean. Wifi worked great. Beach access was convenient. Having Laundry in the room was a game changer! Amazing! The restaurant on site was really great even though only open for breakfast.

The room was comfortable overall. The beds and pillows were nice. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The pool was actually warmer than freezing cold, so it was nice to be able to get in. The location is great to be able to walk right onto the beach, too. It was nice to see it pet friendly. Loved seeing other guests dogs. Very nice indeed.

This hotel is beach front and although it was foggy and rainy, we could still see the ocean.
We liked the fact that there as a little cafe run by Dave who made us up a shrimp and salad supper so we didn’t have to navigate in the fog!
Most of all, the staff at the hotel are great and super helpful. We had a problem with payment which has been sorted out by the Manager, Lynnsey.

The last time I was in KDH was about 20 years ago and I have to say time has not not been kind to it. So commercial, touristy and filthy. Litter and cigarette butts covered the side of the road, where you will have to walk if you want some exercise, as there are no sidewalks on many of the busy streets.
We visited in the off-season as a side trip on our way from NJ to GA so we could go to the Wright Brothers memorial. The memorial is nicely done, and the building it is housed in is lovely. I'd suggest making a day trip to see it and then getting out of town.

My review is of the outer banks area - kill devil hills to Corolla.
Loved exploring the area and seeing the wild horses.
Lots of seafood restaurants and beautiful scenery.
We didn’t get a chance to see the Orville brothers monument or check out the Lighthouse.
We definitely didn’t expect to see dolphins especially so many on our beach drive. Very beautiful area and would love to go back when it’s warmer.

Our room was big enough for two adults and 1 kid (6 years). Beach is just 1m walk - basically across the hotel area, and the swimming pool was open the whole day (only indoor as it was too cold for outdoor - no problem with that). Breakfast was ok - nothing superb, but good and fresh. Unlike other hotels - they still served breakfast - I had a bad experience already twice by being charged for breakfast and then "due to covid" breakfast was closed without any refund - here they still serve breakfast :-)
Location is one block from the beach. There are 2 building blocks - one on the beachfront. I requested closer, but was told this was $250 more. Otherwise, our block was only one block from the beach. Road is a little busy so watch the young kids.
2 bedroom suite was spacious, clean and well equipped.
The unit block has a checkin lounge with games, books, dvds, popcorn which the kids loved. There are also daily activities.
Some people are permanent owners and all were lovely and welcoming.
We stayed in the double suite, it was very roomy, it's been updated. It has a small bar with a mini fridge and microwave and single coffee pot. Lots of space. It was a double room so it also had a love seat in the living area. Was clean and right on the beach. They have grills and picnic tables outside so we cooked out for our Easter dinner which was very nice. They are pet friendly also. I enjoyed staying there and would stay again.
My wife and I visited OBX and stayed for the second time at the TownePlace suites Marriott and will come back again. The hotel is super clean, all the staff is very friendly and the stay was very pleasant. The beach is beautiful and the new tiki bar across the street from the hotel is a great addition with a small variety of foods and drinks, we enjoyed our stay very much and will be back in the spring!
VERY CONSUMER FRIENDLY:
Affordable Hotel, Directly on the Beach, with an easy walkway provided to the Atlantic Ocean, hear those waves. Awesome.
Spa was beautiful with a Hot Tub and Indoor and Outdoor Pools, in the same area.
Delicious Full Breakfast, Coffee and Ice Water with limes all day.
Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable.
Professional Staff.
The location of the hotel is perfect, right on the beach with a pool. The room was huge and much larger and nicer than we expected. The breakfast options were great, and although breakfast may look different because of Covid restrictions everything was great. We will definitely be back!
Although the main areas of the hotel itself are a little tired, the rooms look refreshed and more modern and it all seemed very clean. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. It is a great location and from our room we had a view of the ocean, what more could you want?!?
This is a hotel on the beach on the Outer Banks and is beautifully situated!
The staff are great. There is a little cafe/resto in the lobby of the hotel where Dave presides and cooks and provides guests something to eat in the case of fog and rain, as we experienced.
The hotel is in a very nice location but we didn’t get a room in that building. Staff was very kind to walk from the hotel to our building at midnight to bring as some soap and shampoo as there was none inside the room
It’s a nice hotel at the beach. Gorgeous oceanfront views.
Room was comfy and really clean.
Breakfast was good too.
All front desk staff and the lady at the cafe were amazingly friendly and accommodating.
Fantastic view of the ocean and direct access to the beach, heated pool that kids loved, very convenient location, very good breakfast and dinner at the hotel restaurant, well-equipped kitchen.
I like that they had a pool and the rooms were nice enough. The staff were also friendly and the locations pretty good in Kill Devil Hills on the border with Nags Head.
This hotel is in an excellent location. It was nice to have a restaurant on site. The views from the oceanfront balcony alone make this hotel worth it.
